For what I wish could’ve lasted a lifetime, Planet Dance Cincinnati was my dance home for two years. It was more than a dance studio for my training and being a part of a competition team; it was somewhere that I was exposed to many creative minds and processes, I grew immensely as a dancer and much more as a person, and I created bonds and relationships that I’ll forever cherish. There’s a difference between a regular dance studio and a place like Planet Dance because it is much more than that. A main focus there is the importance of taking class to continuously grow, learn, and stay inspired, and the untouchable faculty teaching those classes makes Planet a mini Broadway Dance Center. The teachers are so invested in each and every student though every dancer at Planet is so different. From the range of age you’ll see in any class because of their open classes, to the dancers on their competition team or in their professional company, this studio is a home for any dancer to thrive and grow as an artist. It’s rare that you’d ever leave the studio feeling uninspired because there’s a constant good vibe, and you’re always learning from other dancers and feeding off of each other’s energy because that’s what is natural for Planet Dance. Missy and Andrew have created an environment with open minds and hearts for any dancer to come and share their love for dance all while being challenged in outstanding classes and putting in the work and training. Thank you to the faculty and humans I’ve been able to dance with at Planet Dance. I’m incredibly lucky to have been able to work and be a part of such an experience. There will never be enough thank you’s for owners and artistic directors Missy and Andrew for all they do for every human that comes to their Planet, for they are constantly encouraging and inspiring everyone they meet as people, dancers, and artists. The dance studio they have created has been a gift every day. Each of them has an enormous amount of experience in the dance world and with that they have been able to help put so many of their students into the field with their guidance and advice. They still are currently working, choreographing, and teaching outside of Planet so they can learn and stay inspired to bring back more knowledge and new ideas for their dancers. Missy and Andrew have helped me grow into my own skin and have shaped me into a completely different dancer than I was two years ago and for that I am forever grateful. Jackie Engelkamp

In dance, you create art and expression through the movement of your body. When I first started dance at the age of 4 it was just something fun to do after school. As I grew, dance became more important to me, and I joined a competition team in middle school. Although I enjoyed dancing and traveling with my friends, I still had not yet found a purpose and a passion in my dance. Planet Dance Cincinnati was the spark that ignited that passion in my dancing. Planet Dance Cincinnati has been my second home for the past two years. In the short time that I have been a part of Planet, I have improved my technique, found myself as an artist, and built great relationships with the faculty and students. Although I danced with other studios for many years, no other studio challenged my weaknesses in a positive way that nurtured my confidence and inspired my creativity. Jennifer Rutherford, Andrew and Missy Hubbard, and the rest of the staff have far exceeded my expectations. They each pour themselves into the individual dancers to highlight their strengths and strengthen their weaknesses. And while I have grown so much technically, what Planet Dance has truly given me is the launch pad to find my artistic self. Everyone at Planet Dance is their own individual - and because that diversity is encouraged, we are all able to give and take from each other. Planet Dance gives the opportunity to take class with a wide age range to inspire young and old dancers. This environment has made me a more well-rounded dancer and an open-minded peer, and given me the opportunity to reach out to younger dancers as well. I credit so much of who I have become to this creative, welcoming, and hardworking space. With the skills and knowledge that I have acquired at Planet Dance, I am on the road to a successful professional career. And I know this place will always be a second home for me.

I have been so pleased with Planet Dances approach to dance education! This is our second year here, and I can already see such growth in my daughters technique in more than one type of dance, as well as in their ability to pick up choreography quickly. Classes are run by professionals. And the atmosphere......it strikes you as soon as you enter. The first time we came to observe, I felt like I stepped into the movie Fame!!! Everyone there is there to learn HOW to dance, and you can tell. My daughters, ages 10 and 12, have a ton of fun, but the focus is the dancing. I dont know exactly how Missy and Andrew Hubbard have managed to create an atmosphere that is both intense and inviting, but they have. Which is good, since we are there practically every night!! And they love it!! Even my 8 year old son drops in on a class at his level now and then. Best dance education in the city!!!

"High quality technical training combined with a unique atmosphere that helps dancers achieve the full potential of their passion and their art form...Planet Dance Faculty is extremely well rounded and are experts in the area they teach in. All of them having numerous professional credits, they not only bring a level of expertise that can only be found in convention classes and workshops, but also bring the knowledge for any dancer that wishes to further and make dance a priority for the rest of their lives. Most people would say its "Cincinnatis Best Kept Secret", however anyone that goes their will tell you that they wouldnt choose to train anywhere else in the U.S.A."

Im beginning my 5th year at Planet Dance Cincinnati and I couldnt be happier! I have never been to another dance studio where the teachers dont only treat you like one of their students, they treat you like one of their own kids. Theyre encouraging, inspiring, and have incredible dance backgrounds of their own. They create this safe environment where your creativity can blossom without fear of rejection. Planet Dance is offering the best dance education in the area. Im proud to call this studio my home!

Planet Dance gives a very comfortable environment to be yourself and explore in your personal creativity of learning dance whether professionally,recretional or as an after school activity. Planet dance opens these opportunities for all. This could not happen withouth the amazing teachers that instructs us! They are all gifted in their genres and i am privileged to beable to train with them.

Planet Dance is anything you could hope for in a dance studio. It offers ballet, jazz, hip hop, free form and even voice. The instructors are really the best to be found in Cincinnati. Its a great space just outside of downtown Cincinnati. Everyone is welcome. I would recommend it to anyone from a professional level to no dance experience whatsoever. Very non-threatening environment.
