I would like to be as fair as possible, so naturally the best way to do this is to establish a pros and cons list. Pros: -Great experience with instructors -Instructors displayed thorough knowledge of dancing -Friendly receptionist and all around polite staff -Wonderful fun for my fiancé and I Cons: -Pushy high pressure sales tactic You might think that the rating is low considering the pros and cons, that should be an indication of how bad the sales experience was. We were given a groupon deal from my mother for Easter, and we were very eager to learn how to properly dance before our wedding in October. We had our first three lessons and they were absolutely wonderful. We had so much fun, enjoyed our time together, and enjoyed the constructive criticism from the instructors. At the conclusion of our third lesson we met with the man that seems to be the manager and he wanted to talk with us about possibly getting more lessons going forward. My fiancé and I were very excited as we were really enjoying the lessons and sat down. We were immediately shown the price list and realized we could not afford to move forward. The Deluxe wedding package that they suggested was something around $700. My fiancé and I recently graduated from college, we are trying to get ready for married life and supporting ourselves, and we politely said that this was outside of what we can afford. Generally I would think that this would be a fine response, but instead we were greeted with the phrase "ha! That is what credit cards are for!" And when I immediately shut down that retort he suggested we ask our parents or extended family to buy them for us. I was honestly appalled at that. How could he expect us to have the audacity to ask our families, who are already helping us so much financially, for more money. Next he talked about how well dance lessons would help our marriage, but if we have to go into debt to have them I think that is a poor decision. Do you know what the #1 cause of divorce is? Debt. This went on and back and forth for about 10 minutes with him eventually inquiring as to what are our degrees are and where we work, which then caused statements that implicated that he thought based on our jobs that we could afford the lessons. Im not here to badmouth a small business, I love the aspect of supporting small businesses. It was honestly the most uncomfortable, unprofessional, and downright disrespectful situation we have been in. If you have a couple hundred dollars to spend on this, I would recommend it. If you dont then I would find something else instead.

My wife and I wanted to learn a few steps to dance at our son’s wedding so we called quite a few studios to gather information, Mike the owner was the only one we called that answered the phone, he was very informative and polite. We signed up for an introductory package and it was so much fun learning to dance and actually being able to dance in public. Our instructor has been Mia and she is awesome, very knowledgeable and makes the learning fun. That was 9 years ago and were still at the school taking lessons. The owners and instructors are very compassionate in their dedication to teach you the correct methods and styles. They are very friendly and easy to communicate with, they offer private lessons, group lessons to support the private lessons and party nights were you can dance and enjoy the evening with other students. I highly recommend that you check out Arthur Murray of Columbus FIRST if you’re interested in learning to dance. They are simply the best

My wife and I started taking lessons almost 2 years ago to prepare ourself for our sons wedding. Within just two months we were able to dance enough to impress everyone at the wedding. We have continued to take lessons on a regular basis and will be graduating bronze level 3 in June. If only they could see us now! I am a physician and find this to be the most wonderful way to build core muscle strength, improve posture and balance, and the best part, hold each other close. We look forward each week to our lessons, both private and group, and the regular parties that are held several times each week. I was most impressed by their teaching techniques which includes a detailed syllibus with all the steps! I just want to say thanks to the Columbus studio for all their hard work and FUN!!! By the way, our teacher, Mia, is ranked 20th in the world of all Arthur Murrey studio teachers!!!

Hello, I started taking dance lessons at the Columbus dance studio, with my fiancee at the time, to prepare a first wedding dance. We wanted to try and look good. So our teacher choreographed a dance to go with our choice of song. It felt good to be able to do that and it turned out great. We even received applause from our guests. We continued to take lessons because it was fun as a couple and all the staff and customers were very nice. I would encourage anyone to try this company. The dances are taught in a easy step by step way and they encourage questions if there is something that you dont understand or want to learn. Plus it is always fun to dance!

I tried Arthur Murray through a Living Social discount, and have been hooked since the beginning! I finally found an enjoyable way to get exercise, socialize and feel more graceful and confident.....not to mention the satisfaction that comes from being able to learn the different dances and continue to improve in steps and technique. We just completed the December Showcase where I successully completed seventeen dances and was able to move on to the Bronze III level. The owner and instructors care about the students and their progress which makes the process even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this studio.

Took classes here through a Groupon – knew we only wanted the 5 classes in our package, but they were incredibly pushy, annoying, and awkward about pushing us to sign-up for longer, more expensive class packages. Their dance instructors were great; both nice, good teachers, and made it a fun experience. But honestly, its horrible and truly not good business for the man who works there (and seems to be the manager or sorts) to be so insanely pushy. If anything, his rude, unprofessional sales tactics made us definitely not want to ever come back.

I was taught by an Asian instructor who was very unprofessional. She was semi- cordial to my husband and I, but when we walked in, she was screaming at her staff members. She did an okay job showing us a few dances, however we were shocked how expensive it was for the dance packages. It was only $10 for the first couple lessons and then they all of a sudden wanted $100 for a lesson. I would recommend going elsewhere like Emerald City or Dance Plus Ballroom where the prices are much more reasonable and the instructors are better.

My boyfriend and I just got done with our intro lessons, and we had a BLAST! Kyle, our instructor did a fantastic job showing us the ropes and being courteous and encouraging along the way. We were timid at first, but he did a great job putting us at ease. We will definitely be coming back soon!
