A business that is willing to lose sales and receive negative reviews rather then sacrifice the integrity of the product... too bad this may be the only one left... All the people that complain about this place not having milk or sugar sound like spoiled brats. "how dare you take me out of my comfort zone sir", "I need my local businesses to be predictable so Im never challenged to experience something different". Back in the old days if you asked for milk or sugar in your coffee youd be taken outside and beaten with a frying pan. Do you think Herman Melville was drinking a skinny frappaccino when he wrote Moby Dick?(ref. Starbuck... look it up, hes a character from the book buddy) no!... Just dark, black coffee that he probably picked up somewhere off the South Pacific islands where he was marooned after a failed mutiny attempted and almost eaten by cannibals (ref. Mardi(earlier novel)... i think its autobiographical) You should go to this coffee shop, enjoy it, and be happy you arent living underneath a bridge.

Good coffee! Ive noticed many third-wave purists start out with the level of pretension that you see at Troubadour, insisting once they put the lid on your cup, any addition you make can only desecrate their art. Even though I only drink black coffee, I respect that others can still appreciate nuances of a roast after adding milk or sugar--items which will not be provided at Troubadour. Rising Star has found a good balance of providing exquisite coffee while not imposing their palate upon the drinker -- which, if nothing else, provides a more sustainable business model.

The older individual with his photo displayed picked his nose three times. I wanted to tell him to wash his hands but did not want to come off as rude. He described to me the quality of the coffees robotically and with an ego consumed within a negative state. This was so unfortunate and I should have respected myself more by leaving versus feeling like I needed to follow through in being polite. I did not enjoy the coffee because of this. It may be specialty, but not worth the negativity. Peoples definition of quality is so twisted these days. Extremely disappointed.

I tired this coffee shop on its first day opening. I was very excited for a new specialized coffee shop in Fairview Park. I was waiting for months watching them fill the building with all of their things. I was so excited when they opened and now I visit as often as my budget allows me to.I am very picky about my coffee drinks but I have to say, this shop makes THE BEST beverages around! I have had the mocha and recently switched to the Lady Jester (dark chocolate and raspberry!) it is so unique and delicious. Be sure to make this a regular stop!!

First, Im a little spooked that the man is gonna read this and respond bc i saw that he does that to every comment. Second, if you like anything other than black coffee dont come here. I understand the concept, but this IS NOT a wine tasting. I felt bad by the end of his long speech, so i bought something, drank a few sips, desperately wanted some sugar, and left. Also his definition of dark roast coffee was completely wrong.

I go here as often as possible. You cant beat the experience of the coffee, there is nothing else like it. Im always impressed how the flavor notes change while I sip my first cup. When Im in the mood for something a little sweet, I get either the Mocha or the Chai Tea. The iced chai tea is great on a hot day. I would highly recommend stopping in and giving it a try. The banana cake is perfect every time I get it.

First and last visit today. All we wanted is a nice cup of "hot" coffee and we instead got a 10 minute speech on how ignorant coffee drinkers are. I get the passion but dont insult customers who would like a little cream in their coffee. We were guaranteed a smooth cup of coffee and frankly it was very acidic . No music, very small selection of food.

People who can appreciate a great cup of coffee need to try this place. Tony only serves his coffee black, which is appropriate for how good it is. If I dont roast up a batch of beans myself i get my beans from Troubadour. Everyone there is knowledgeable and friendly. Try a coffee flight if you want to see how different the coffee tastes.

Troubadour Coffee takes coffee to another level. The barista greeted me and provided an education on bean selection, the brew method, and the taste and smell of each coffee. After making a selection, the barista proceeded to brew an individual pour-over. I would highly recommend Troubadour for its excellence in coffee and service.

Hot chocolate was not that great but this place was really nice for having a conversation with a friend. Its nice and quiet, not too crowded, and had a nice view of the snow outside the window. I actually hope to come back and try their coffee and dessert at some point. Would recommend if you want a quiet, small coffee shop.

Quite simply, I cant think of a better place in the Cleveland area to get a cup of coffee. The owner is passionate about his trade, and it shows. All of the coffees are excellent, and roasting is done onsite in small batches. The cappuccinos are my favorite, and I cant recommend the freshly baked banana bread enough!

This coffee shop does not offer cream or sugar for their coffee drinks. I was skeptical at first, but they are absolutely right that their coffee doesnt need milk or sugar. We ordered an Americano and a hot cocoa. Both were beautifully done and smooth. The cheesecake is also delicious.

Place takes themselves too seriously. Why cant I put sugar onto a product I have purchased? The place obviously had sugar as they had pastries and Hot Chocolate. (that were housemade) If I go to a burger place I would like ketchup on my fries, and sugar in my coffee at a coffee shop.

This is not for Starbucks lovers! If you like flavored crappy coffee, go to Starbucks. This is the best coffee shop in the U.S.! They have the best coffee, the best roast, and the owner loves what he does. He cares so much about his coffee, its just a beautiful thing.

I feel like there should be a legitimate disclaimer saying "if you like ANYTHING in your coffee, dont go here" bc by the time he is done talking, you feel obligated to buy something. Im not trying to be rude, but I really feel like I should have been warned.

This place defines pretentious for me. If coffee is your religion and you like following rules then this place might be for you. But if customer service is important to you, there are plenty of great coffee shops that arent so holier than thou.

This place is amazing. Im visiting my grandmother for Thanksgiving and needed a coffee shop to get some work done. Im blown away by the quality of the coffee and wish so badly we had Troubadore back in DC. Cant recommend this enough.

Tony is the absolute best micro roaster in the greater Cleveland area. His Columbian and Costa Rican beans are perfect in all regards. Outstanding business, owned and operated by a passionate individual.
