I hired Lauren to be the hair stylist for my 7/29/2017 wedding. I planned to have my hair done, as well as my four bridesmaids and my mother. When I met with Lauren at the Rosemary and Pine Salon a few months before my wedding for the trial, I felt very excited about having her be a part of our big day. She tried out several different styles, gave advice, and was very receptive to my opinions and ideas. I booked her and paid half of the total cost that day. I paid her in full about a month before the wedding. The night before my wedding, I received an email from Lauren at 10:00 pm asking for the hotel room information. At 11:00 pm, Lauren sent me several text messages stating that she was sending a new stylist to my hotel room and that she would arrive shortly after because she had had several flights cancelled and couldn’t arrive at our agreed upon time (10:00 am). While frustrating, I understood that things can happen. I received several text messages from different stylists throughout the night, including one at 1:30 am. A different stylist showed up shortly after 10:00 am, stating that she would fill in until Lauren arrived, but that she had a wedding at 1:30 to attend. Lauren and I had agreed to be finished around 3:00 pm when we would need to leave for the hotel. While our new stylist did a great job, I continued to receive updates from Lauren that her timeline was being pushed further and further back. Eventually she said that she would not be able to make it to the hotel at all to do hair, but that she would come to my venue to do curl touch ups. Upon arrival at the venue, we waited and waited for Lauren to arrive. I took all of my first look photos with no hair touch ups because I received no contact from her. Finally, close to 5:30 (my ceremony start time), Lauren knocked on the door. At that point I told her that we did not have time for touch ups as we were set to walk down the aisle in minutes. She told me that she would contact me the next week to touch base. While not having my hair done by the stylist I hired and had a trial with was frustrating, it didn’t make me less married or totally ruin my wedding look. I was very disappointed that I never received an apology all throughout the day of the wedding from Lauren that our plans had been completely changed. I never received contact from Lauren in the week following my wedding as she said that I would. I waited two full weeks until I contacted her through email, and to this day (over three weeks from the wedding), I have still had no contact at all from her.

I LOVED my experience here. I was looking for a new Aveda salon to go to as my regular one was getting a little too pricey and am glad someone recommended to go here. Its more affordable compared to the fancy Short North/Downtown places yet offers the same level of service. The staff there was really friendly. Lauren did my hair and she is fantastic. Shes super sweet and easy to chat with. She did exactly what I wanted so I am very pleased. In fact, shes going to be doing my hair for my wedding. I am really picky about my hair so I am excited! July 2017: My wedding has come and gone and as I expected, Lauren did an AMAZING job on my hair (as well as my girls)...I wanted these old-hollywood curls and they held up the entire night. Not to mention, its super fun and entertaining to have someone as cool as Lauren to hang around while youre getting pampered with all your favorite ladies on the best day of your life!

This is a nice place full of hard working individuals who do a great job. However, Its hard to support a business where the owner/operator does a terrible job of taking care of her employees. Its embarrassing that someone with such little competence would attempt to run a business. Employees of this establishment arent treated well and arent paid in a timely manner. Paychecks are held hostage, schedules are not adhered to, and employees are told they have to work for free during events to "build clientele" which, the last time I checked, is illegal. Do yourself a favor and spend your hard-earned money at a business that treats its employees with dignity and respect.

What just happened to me? Ever found the right barber/stylist and then you almost accidentally happen into an even better one? Me neither, which is why if you told me about this place, I wouldnt have believed you. Gents, the rumors are true. Lauren Storck is a true wizard with the clippers and shes a totally cool conversationalist too. Her passion for giving you THE BEST cut is only rivaled by the excellence of the cut itself. Seriously. Im still processing this place. For as long as she works here, Lauren has my business.
