I hired Ohio Basement Systems to level 3 slabs of my residential driveway adjacent to the garage. I dont think I could be more disappointed in the results. To start, I had 3 estimates for the job and Ohio Basements came in at over $250 more than the nearest competitor. I will say that they are the only one of the 3 that use foam over the slag concrete, which they claim is superior and comes with a 5 year warranty on sinking again. This is why I choose them. It took over 5 weeks from the time I made the deposit to job completion. I made the deposit with the estimator who said I would be promptly called and put on the schedule, which did not happen. I had to call several days later and remind them. On job day, they showed up on time as scheduled, it just took 5 weeks. The two man crew was nice enough and after setting up and prepping they spent about an hour trying to unclog their foam gun. Not a problem except that I realized they were using brake cleaner to do so and they were doing it in my yard! I had to go out and stop them, offer them an oil catch pan that I had and mention that I was worried about the grass where they just emptied about a can of the brake cleaner. It really didnt register, but they used the catch pan from then on. They finished the job after a few hours and asked me to inspect the work. I mentioned that the stains on the concrete from the foam overflow was hideous and how do we get it off.. Their reply: just use a pressure washer and it will be fine. I had to laugh at that and in general because this type of customer service is really becoming the norm in the USA and I literally dont have the headspace required to deal with anymore idiocy than I already do. So, whatever, I just happen to have a very high power commercial pressure washer and I figured Id get it cleaned up quick and be done with it. I mistakenly paid them the balance of the job thinking all was going to be fine and off they went. Now I drag out the 4000psi unit that I have and attempt to remove this staining. Im not talking about a few drops or marks here and there, Im saying there are several 1 foot square areas of stains from this foam that are dark and discolored where the foam escaped through the seams in the concrete and flowed over top the slabs and onto the garage floor pan. This dried foam is a lot like steel. It will not come off. The driveway will deteriorate under the pressure of the water but the foam stays put. So I then called the office manager to tell him about the stains and that I now have a bunch of dead grass in my yard where these two sprayed brake cleaner. He came out a few days later with a bucket of chemicals and told me that I was the first customer to use the higher quality foam which they use on their highway contracts. He spread the chemical on the stains and pretty much said This is unavoidable, hope for the best and Ill be in touch... Oh by the way, we use that brake cleaner all the time at the shop and it killed the grass over there but it is growing back in. Again, I dont have the headspace or the temper to cope with this. So here I am a few days later with several nasty looking stains on my driveway next to a growing patch of dying grass and hoping for the best. At least the transition to the garage is level again. Good luck.

Today we had our back porch and our front walkway raised with the PolyLEVEL System. We had read all of the literature - and read all of the information online before we contracted with Ohio Basement System. And we read all of the reviews with this company. We sure didnt make a mistake! So, today Kyle came out with Mike and a sales rep named Chad. Kyle, as the foreman, was the one to go over what was going to happen. And he was very re-assuring about each step and that after they were finished, how they were going to clean everything up. He also told me about the care involved after a day or so. and he went through the warranty again. He encouraged me to come out and watch the process and ask any questions. After they finished our back porch he came and got me and asked me to look at it and asked if I had questions. The same thing happened after he finished our front walkway. I am so very happy with 1) the knowledge Kyle had and the level of professionalism he showed as he explained everything to me. 2) everything was as he said it would be when they had finished the process, 3) water will be funneled away from our the house because of everything being lifted and 4) the expectation that we will have many more years of a beautiful relaxing area in our backyard and a very welcoming entrance to our home - and it is in huge part to this amazing system and an extremely talented crew, led by Kyle. Thank you so much!

I recently purchased an older home that had some uneven floors and bowing in the roof line. We were told from the previous owner that it had been inspected and was structurally sound. After having other work done around the house, a couple of the workmen suggested that all did not look well to them. We then called Ohio Basement to come out and check it for us. They concluded that the house was not stable and we needed to have jacks placed along the back of the house along with push-piers. In the course of their work they also discovered a very large crack in the front of the house and they had to install wall anchors at that point. Throughout this process I feel that Ohio Basement has been very helpful to us in understanding this process. They have always shown up when they said they would and been friendly, curteous, and respectful. The crew we had involved a crew chief named Joe Tenney and I couldnt have asked for better. We had a few bumps along the road because the condition of the house was so poor, and were in touch with Jeremy Tenney, who is the General Manager. He helped us to a great extent to work everything out and was more than fair and always gracious. We dont have a house that is all that nice looking but I feel confident that it will hold structurally for a long time and that is exactly what we wanted. I feel confident to recommend this company to anyone.

Despite the rain on the first day the crew got right to work and didn’t waste a moment. They brought all of the tools, materials, and spare items needed. Their foreman Scott, was very professional, polite, a good leader, a good communicator, easy to work with, eager to do things correctly, concerned with job safely, and more than willing to answer any questions I had. The other two crewmen, Josh and Adam were also very fast, able, friendly, knowledgeable and hard working. I was very impressed by the manner in which they performed their work. They succeeded in both supporting and then raising my sunken wall footer back to level. This is no small thing considering the muddy mess of a job site that the rain had created. The job was started and completed on time and the crew didn’t even complain about the mud.
