I didnt feel safe at this club. I have belonged to health clubs since I was 25 yrs old. I am now a 64 yr old professional. At this club I have been bullied by guys for a parking space, for use of equipment, for space to swing a kettle bell. The ultimate was when I had waited for a television, and when the guy watching left and it was my turn, I changed the channel. A guy who had just entered got in my face, grabbed my car keys and threatened me. When the manager was called, a young man who I had never met told her I was "in the right". Despite this, I was asked to leave while the bullies 2 friends yelled at me. I waited in the parking lot to see if he would be asked to leave. When I re-entered the club they called the police, who told the bully he was out of line. I was pretty freaked out and did not return for several months. When I finally did , and saw the bully there I realized I would never feel safe here. The club supports a good old boy network. Despite my information, the statement of the young man and even the police they supported the bully. At least women you have now been warned.

I have been a member for over 10 yrs and I LOVE this club. I have had other club memberships, including the WAC, and ESAC by far the best. The staff and trainers are friendly and helpful. I love that each time I leave, someone usually says "Bye Diane". I have always wondered how they know my name, but I think my face must show on their computer screens and so they know it is me leaving. The monthly fees are also almost half of what the WACs fees were. The membership is very diverse. I am over 60 and often find myself working out with folks 20 to 70. This might not be your best choice for becoming Mr. America, but if your goal is to get fit and health, you have found the place. My favorite classes are Zumba, Water Aerobics and Group Power (weight lifting class). I also like that they have a separate workout room for women. I even joined "The Biggest Loser" challenge (twice). I loved my team, the competition between teams and working with my personal trainer, Sharon. I give it two thumbs up. Hope to see you there.

I tried this gym out while my 24 hour fitness membership was on freeze since it was the closest gym to my house at the time. I stop going due to having kidney surgery and when I tried to cancel they charged me a monthly fee not even a day past the cutoff for billing. I said I wasnt planning on coming back to use the gym even if I was charged and hadnt used the gym for two months since I was just doing lighter movements at home while I recovered. But, they took the money regardless. Less than one day over the cutoff? How is that a way to keep customers? What if changed my mind later? What if my wife wanted to join? Give people a little slack! I went ahead and joined the new 24 hour fitness in Gladstone and have been loving it. I did not expect this kind of oversight since I had generally thought of everyone there as nice people. Just a strange approach to customer service. I think my credit card company is more forgiving than the person who handled my cancellation!

Eastside Athletic Club is great. The club is locally owned and operated and the people are friendly and helpful. They have a lot of great equipment, some of which is a little old and squeaky, but still functional. They offer a wide variety of equipment and styles of workout. The classes are great. The sauna is nice and there is one in each locker room. Apparently the men have a steam room too. Racquetball, pickle ball, basketball. They have a womens only section if you are interested in that. Blow dryers, flat iron and curling iron in womens restroom are handy. Prices are competitive with large chains, but you can feel better about contributing to the local business here.

Wow, Im reading these reviews and wondering what club these people went to? I am again a member at ESAC and have had memberships in the past, and quite honestly never encountered the issues listed here. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the trainers are great, and the club has everything. There is a broad spectrum of membership as well, which I prefer. They have great classes and are always supportive of fitness goals. Im not sure where comments about a "horrible club" and unfriendly staff come from. If you arent sure, go spend some time there and talk to the other members, I think you will find it to be a positive experience.

Best gym my wife and I have ever belonged to. We work out regularly and have belonged to many gyms ranging from single owner to horrible franchises like LA Fitness. This one is far cleaner, better customer service and the best deal of any previous membership. The clientele are mature and friendly and it is fairly quiet. Definitely not the awful meat-market you get at other gyms. The weight machine equipment is not quite state-of-the art and the building layout is a little awkward, but that is so forgivable with the cleanliness, customer service, and nice pool. So happy this place is in our area!

This gym has plenty of equipment and is good for my wife and I to conveniently work out in town, but the staff, especially the two older women, are obnoxious and rude. I want to get through the front desk as quickly as possible every time I enter. I also dont like how I am hasseled to stay and wait and verify I am who I say I am everytime I go to the gym even though Ive been there for years. Its more annoying because I see them let many other people go in without even checking to see if their pin was entered.

Nice facilities, friendly people. The price is high for membership. Ten to fifteen dollars more than most places. They have alot of amenities, if you ever use them at all. I was with them for a little over a year and when I described them my situation for wanting to leave I think the nice lady described it as "Trying to work them over" They proceeded to take payment from my account after I requested to cancel payment. Kinda feel like I was the one getting worked over. Whatever though. Switched gyms.

Not sure why people are so upset with ESAC...they are very family friendly and the daycare and swim instructors are great. Ive never been treated bad and dont believe the hype that someone was shooting steroids in the locker room. It was probably Insulin. The equipment has all been upgraded in the last year and not ten years old like someone suggested. Glad people cancelled their membership because this gym doesnt need negative people putting it down.

I cancelled my membership after nearly a year. I have nothing negative to say about the physical environment; however, I found the staff to, generally, be unfriendly. They seemed as though they were going out of their way if you asked for help or questions. Frankly, it seemed as though most of them (but not all) felt superior to the customers. I’m over sixty and this is the first time I’ve been moved to actually write a review.
