My partner and I went there for the first time last night. Weve wanted to try it out for a few months so we took advantage of the 5 free punches deal. The staff were great and very helpful. The gal that processed our membership was very informative and answered all our questions. I was disappointed with the fitness center. There are several cardio machines and some strength training machines but the space really needs to be at least twice its current size. We were both able to start right away on bikes but there were people waiting to use the cardio machines the entire time we were there. Several users werent respecting the 20 minute per machine limit while others are waiting rule. Also, there isnt much space for stretching or ground fitness activities. You just have to find some space in the walk way or in front of the doors. The rest of the center seemed nice but based on my experience using the fitness center Im not ready to commit to a membership.

Ive only visited Mt. Scott Community Center for the roller skating rink. That being said, the rest of the place looks amazing. The rink is completely awesome. Located in the basement under the gym is can be load from the bouncing basketballs, but not bad. Its usually not busy at all, 5-25 people. The music is just from the radio, but the guy who runs it is usually open to changing stations, The floor is very nice but slick, mainly from the dust that is on it. But fortunately I prefer the floor top be slick for my style of skating. Very friendly staff, good prices, and they let you wear your headphones(UNLIKE THE SKATE NAZIS AT OAKS PARK!). I just wish they had more open skate sessions. Definitely worth the drive from Salem.

Awesome, awesome, AWESOME. A few years ago, I joined to work out at the fitness center. I lost 40lbs in one year. Great equipment, well maintained, excellent customer service. I have since joined another gym (it was cheaper), but my child now takes swimming lessons here and we LOVE it. Her teacher is wonderful, she loves to learn how to swim, she is comfortable in the water. The atmosphere is light and happy, the programs are wonderful and well-suited for age range. My child also took a toddler tumble and gymnastics class about a year ago here, and she loved that as well. Patient adults working with the children. We will be lifelong members.

I only visited for the water part of Mt. Scott Community Center, I was very impressed. Not only was there a wide assortment of water activities, a pool, small "non-lazy river", "tornado"(which is a small circular pool that spins in a tornado fashion), a water slide, hot tub, lap pool and rope, but the entire place felt clean and well maintained and watched. There were multiple life guards watching every corner of the place, very capable of helping kids, or adults, in need. I very much enjoyed my short visit here and would definitely recommend!

This is an excellent Community Center and park it hosts the World Naked Bike Ride once a year which I went to in 2016 and was very interesting more than 2,000 people without clothing otherwise very quiet during the day and there are people exercising right when the Sun goes down the park is very safe and in a good neighborhood there are also many local bars and small pizza shops nearby

I loooove Mt Scott! In the morning, I get up early and go to bootcamp in the gymnasium. Challenging and fun. On Mondays, my 18 month old has his baby gymnastics class. He loves it. Later in the week, we go swimming in the beautiful pool area. This facility has so much to offer. The classes are high quality. The staff is super friendly. Mt Scott is the best!!!

One of the gems of Portland. Huge park block with natural running track, picnic tables, childrens play set, and baseball park. Facilities offer a full gym, basket ball court, half sized swimming pool separate from the kids swimming pool. Did i mention a hot tub? They offer a wide range of classes for all ages and interests.

Never reserve a birthday party here. This is the third year in a row where they had no idea there was a party reservation. The last two years they were late in setting up the room and this year they just plain scheduled us on a day the pool wasnt even available. Your childs birthday will be ruined if you plan it here.

I love this community center, and all the great classes they have here. My boys take swim lessons and gymnastics classes, and we come to enjoy the pool year-round, since it is indoor AND heated! The waterslide is very popular in our family, too - they did a great job designing the pool to fit all kinds of features!

Staff and instructors here are wonderful, my kids have enjoyed many sports classes and activities at affordable prices. So glad this community center exists! Unfortunately there are a few repairs needed, and Portland Parks budget will be cut 5% next year. They do a great job with what they have.

My wife and I had a blast here. the lap pool and hot tub werent crowded. the kiddie pool was a little crowded but they have one indoor water slide, basketball gym, fitness room. rollerblading is a separate fee of $5.50/person. My wife and I did not do that. overall I highly recommend it.

Had a great time swimming at Mount Scott Community Center with our granddaughter. Had fun on the waterslide and shooting Hoops in the water..she really liked the rope swing as well. Felt safe as there are many lifeguards on duty. Highly recommend for great family fun on a budget!

This was my gym when I first started going to the gym regularly. The weight lifting gym is extremely small and youll likely have to wait to use equipment if its busy. Also, the equipment is extremely limited and drop in rates are kind of spendy.

We have been sending the kiddo to swimming and tumbling lessons here. Great staff and the indoor pool has a water slide. There is a mini roller skating rink in the basement which is the perfect size for little kids just learning to skate.
