I dont pay much for hair cuts. I have short thick hair that grows fast, so it seems like a waste to spend more than I have to when its just going to be shaggy a week later anyway. I went to this bishops for the first time several years ago, and havent gone anywhere else since. $21 bucks for a haircut and a beer, and good conversation with a cool stylist is a great deal in my book. You can pay just as much to get a crappy cut at Super Cuts, and the only beer in there is IN your stylist. I always go in the morning on my way in to work, when theres almost never a wait. Its never too early for a free beer in my book, so 10 minutes later Im in a chair with a cold one. For several years, I always got the same do. Nothing too difficult, and everyone there did fine with it. This year I decided it was time for a change, so I skipped getting a cut for 4 or 5 months as my hair grew out under a constantly alternating collection of hats. I knew I wanted something a little longer and shaggier, but I didnt know what would work for me in that realm. I feared Id be the worst kind of customer when I went back in and the stylist asked what I wanted and my only reply was "I dont know", but she offered some great suggestions, and Im really pleased with what she came up with. The ultimate test of a hair cut for me is how long I go before the hats come back out, and Im still not wearing one.

considering all the other negative reviews, i feel compelled to dip my oar in here. ive been coming to this bishops for years, and though ive moved all over the city i keep coming back to this one. granted, ive had bad experiences at other bishops but this one has always been extremely solid. i am quite picky about my hair, and every stylist thats helped me has done a great job. they do get busy, so time your visits appropriately. if you go during peak times, youre going to wait. but i go in the early afternoon, and i cant recall the last time i waited for more than fifteen minutes. and remember, its a rock and roll barbershop, not aveda salon. be sensible. if you come expecting to be pampered, youve come to the wrong place. come in, get a good haircut, drink a free beer, leave happy. pretty easy.

I have never had a bad experience at any of the Bishops locations. I felt that my visit to this location was probably the best though. It started when I walked through the door and the receptionist greeted me right away with a smile. I feel most of the time the gals up front are just kind of there and dont really care. I was lucky enough to get paired up with Jenny who fixed me up marvelously! I came in with what I thought was a disaster. She listened to the style I wanted and also gave her opinion, which was greatly appreciated. I walked out of there happy! And I must say that their prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be returning to this location.

I came in to get a bad haircut fixed (from Supercuts, my my mistake) and was so happy and impressed by how they were able to turn my bad haircut into a great one. They didnt charge me full price either which I really appreciated. The staff are wonderful and truly know what theyre doing, and the price is amazing. Its only $10 more than what Supercuts would charge, but here you get a professional haircut and staff that could charge way more for the quality they provide. Amazing place, so glad I found out about it and will continue coming here from now on.

Pros: great music, reading material, & general ambience; Young Urban Stylists; speed (5-10 minute wait, then ready to go in under half an hour); a gentle stylist who understood exactly what I wanted from my reference pictures & description, who even added some finishing touches that improved the overall cut, who used & suggested a product that Ill be going back for, after wearing it for a few hours; who complimented my requested style afterwards. Cons: surly receptionist who didnt offer either of us a beer.

I have had numerous haircuts and each was successively worse than the last. I hoped that going to different stylists would influence the quality of the cut but no...they are all bad. I have had entire sections of my hair "missed" while the rest was cut. I have gone in with long hair asking for a trim and come out with a bob. If you have any emotional attachment to your locks...dont let bishops put scissors anywhere near your head.

I got one outstanding cut there a few years ago. The best Ive ever gotten. Every time after that!! I went in and got scalped. I paid $25 and tipped. I got haircuts that I could have gotten for $10 at any standard barbershop. And the haircuts werent that good anyway generally. I decided to pay more and try Dosha. I can do without their beer. Thanks anyway. One thing to note. The guy at the counter was really nice.

Worst experience!! Wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy. I literally wanted to ball my eyes out after I saw what she did to my hair & not only did they mess up my hair but they tried to charge me $400.00 for it too, the lady there was VERY disrespectful as well I honestly wish I could rate no stars but ohh well.

Nichole was awesome. I had approximately four inches cut off my hair at a different establishment and they did an uneven chop job. Nichole and the manager met with me to talk about what I wanted and completely handled it. Super friendly and good conversation. I will definitely be back. Love my hair, thanks!

Highly depends on who cuts your hair. Sometimes its fine, sometimes its terrible. Way way over priced, even if you do get a free beer. Recently took my son in for a cut, and it should have been a $20 cut at most, but because it was more than a bang trim (barely) they charged the full $29. Ridiculous.

Ive always gotten awesome haircuts here. The stylists care about what you want and are super creative to make it happen, or if they think it wont look good, they will talk with you about it and you can still get an amazing look. Theyre the only place Ill go. Ask for a beer!

This place is badass!! Im not the type who likes paying a lot for hair cuts, and this place provides a great price and a rockabilly attitude. I paid 23 for a basic cut and shampoo, and came out looking great. The hair stylist knew what I wanted. It was like telepathy...

Nicole gave me bangs. She was great at asking questions and explaining things step by step so I got the look I was going for. Havent had a bad experience at this location. Been there four times now.

Really lovely! This is my favorite location. Everyone is so skilled and friendly. I cant believe the value price of the service either. Its absolutely a delight to get my haircut

Waited an hour for a $26 sub-par haircut that took maybe 10 minutes. I might have been more inclined to rate this business higher if the stylist wasnt a bit stand-offish.
