My daughter is almost 5 and has been attending Sonbeam for 8 months now and we both love it. The director Karen is truly a loving and caring woman. She is always open and receptive to me and my concerns. I feel she is both a compassionate and genuine person. The program coordinator, Lindsay is also wonderful, shes cute, fun, and on the ball. My daughter always says that Lindsay is so pretty and that she loves her because she is so nice! The three teachers are also incredible. The whole group of caretakers including the school’s chef feel like they are a family, I think theyve all worked together for around 15 to 20 years. So far this year the kids are learning a lot. My daughter always has a cubby full of art to take home, usually singing a new song that shes learned and reciting a new bible verse that shes learned. Shes made many friends and just told me the other day again how much she LOVES her school and wishes she could be there everyday. The school also has a lot of performing arts that my daughter loves! Over the summer they had a weeklong ‘Tour of Egypt” camp that was a blast and they also had a few different performances! The director and coordinator just took training classes at The Childrens Theater that theyll be incorporating with the children. In the beginning, my main draw to the school was the flexibility they offered in terms of a schedule. Every other school I contacted had strict schedules that didn’t work for me. After having my daughter enrolled for 8 months now though Ive learned there is much more to love! Very well rounded, safe, fun, good academics. Its been a pleasure to be a part of their family and I look forward to the rest of the year. Also, there seems to be a lot of fun options lately: ice cream socials, Disney on ice, childrens museum, etc..

We love love love this preschool. Our 5 year old twins and our 2year old go here and we couldn't imagine a happier more engaged place for them to be. One of the things we love is that they have an indoor gym for them to play as well as an outdoor playground. I think it is so important for kids to have a place to get out and run aroud each day and with Portland weather It isn't always possible. But with sonbeams indoor gym, the kids can ride bikes, do gymnastics whatever. The other thing I love is that they are flexible with my work schedule. My work days aren't consistent each week and the preschool works with me and allows me to change the days I bring the kids each week. A lot of families these days have switching work days and to find a place that can accommodate that is worth it's weight in gold. All our kids have learnt their letters and sounds and have music and computer time each day which is fantastic. Everyone cares for the kids completley and it shows in happy our kids are there.

I love this daycare! They have terrific structure and keep the kids busy all day with crafts, playtime, singing, etc. They have good meals and a consistent naptime. I always know if my daughter takes a decent nap because she will get a nap sticker. The facilities for playtime are fantastic, with an outside playground when its sunny and an indoor gym when its rainy. They are also wonderful about teaching the kids. My 3 year old can already write her own name and is starting to learn the rest of the letters. The staff there are wonderful too, very friendly and caring towards the kids.

My son who is 3 has blossomed socially since he started a year ago. He always has something new to tell me he learned and lots of projects to show me. They just started a gymnastics program too. I get to talk to his teacher everyday and get feedback, I tell her things that we are working on at home and get support from her at school. It has been an excellent experience I would and have recommended it to friends especially if you are near Lloyd Center, or downtown Portland, it would be very convenient.
