Oldschool Cell
Spin has totally up-leveled the whole clothes laundering experience. Theyve applied massive disruption to the terribly inefficient, mechanical, coin-based old school laundromat model, one which required carrying cash, exchanging it for quarters (OMG, who carries cash anymore? So retro!), and tediously loading ones selvage jeans into a washer that looks like something grandma would have used before there was internet. Spins model optimizes the process, providing a customized app (iOS and Android) that pushes notifications to your phone at every critical point in your wash and dry cycles, as well as real time monitoring of soap levels, water temperature, and estimated time to laundry completion (ETLC). Using in-machine cameras connected to Twitter and Instagram APIs, Spin allows you instantly to share the state of your laundry with your followers, either on a scheduled basis using HootSuite, or directly from the App. Meanwhile, you can monitor your social sharing while enjoying a Bolivian chocolate latte in the attached cafe while enjoying cuts by hot local spinners like DJ CoinMachine, Stereoponix, or SoapSudzKilla. Or try your hand at the positively retro 2-D video games upstairs while Spins social media strategists handle it for you! Bring your A Game to Spin, and take your laundry in to the modern era. Spin accepts VISA, Mastercard, Amex and RetinaScanOne. They do not take Bitcoin or Pokemon Points.

This is one of those places you go and afterwards wonder why every single business of its type isnt run exactly like it. As a lazy person who only does laundry once its hit around 5 bags worth, I love the fact that they have huge, industrial sized washers and dryers available. The machines are also really fast, a laundry load takes about 15 minutes and drying in the huge dryers never takes me more than 25. Its a fast process and even the short wait is fine because they serve delicious food, great coffee and have beer/cider on tap. And if Im not hungry I steal a few quarters from my dryer stash and play arcade games upstairs. Oh yeah and theres free soap just ask one of the awesome staff! Really the only downside is that the washers are a little more expensive than usual, running 5-8$ (close to that anyways, dont quote me) depending on size. 25c in the dryer gets you 5mins in the huge one and 7 in the still-ridiculously-large one though which I think is pretty decent deal. In summary, this is the best laundry place Ive ever been to and well worth checking out.

Spin. You complete me. I walked in for the first time today, and have never seen such an amazing laundromat. The word laundromat doesnt even seem fitting... perhaps "fundromat"...? But I digress. The high ceilings and bright airy atmosphere are the first thing one notices upon entry. I started to stumble around in awe, and was greeted by one of the helpful staff, who explained the gorgeous, space-age laundry machines that deck the floors. So many wash options... all the machines have ACTUAL delicate cycles, weigh laundry by the pound to eliminate water waste, and probably give great massages, too. The machines even text you when your load is done if you want. Pure heaven. Once my laundry was in, I wandered over to the coffee bar/cafe area. A beautiful selection of amazing coffee, beer, tea, and baked delicacies awaited my pleasure. Its like nothing Ive ever seen. Take my money, Spin. Take all of it, Im never looking back.

The washing machines text you to let you know your laundry is almost ready. The food was good, not sure what to expect from a laundromat but it was good. The cocktails were also good. There is a projection TV that was showing soccer when we were there. I had trouble with one of the dryers not working and the lady working there was super helpful. She asked me how much money I had put in the dryer (75 cents) and, even though she had know way of knowing if I was telling the truth or not, she believed me without question. That was really nice. It might seem a little more expensive than other laundromats but the machines are larger (so you wash more clothes in a single load) and the dryers dry quickly so it will end up costing you about the same.

Just came here for the first time, probably the nicest laundromat Ive seen in a long time or EVER. I thought the cafe and gaming section was nice and convenient, it helps pass time while waiting for the laundry to finish. The one thing that was off was the sign outside says "wash and dry in 45 minutes w/ FREE all natural detergent" but when I asked the front desk worker "if they had detergent" she said they did but charged me a dollar per load ( & and only gave me one small pump per machine) and charged me for dryer sheets as well, two for a dollar. I didnt even notice the sign outside till I was leaving. Other then that great service.

I actually have laundry in my house, but I go to Spin to work on my laptop simply because I love the lounge. The pop-modern interior design is half the appeal; the excellent food and drinks available make it even more delicious. I also heart their sustainability mission and neighborhood-friendly vibe. On Saturday mornings I come in, set up my work station, get a PB+J panini and a dirty chai, and crank away. I also went there for a Hecklevision event and tried the Reverend Nats pineapple cider on tap on a Saturday night. Im sure the laundry facilities are great too - but I just like the place. The people-watching is an added bonus.

My husband and I have searched high and low for a good laundromat in Portland. Before today, we thought our only option was to sit in dirty, sad laundromats that left our clothes smelling like grandpas. Today we discovered Spin - laundromat heaven! Its clean, efficient, fast and cheap. They have comfy lounge seating that was a dream come true. Best of all, they have a cute cafe that sells food, coffee, beer and wine. We no longer have to dread laundry day! The owner was friendly, helpful and super innovative. Go support this fantastic business.

Like others have said staff was very helpful and provide free detergent if you ask. The layout is really awesome and the washers and dryers work quickly. I had a relatively small load of laundry (2 bottoms, 5 tops, and a towel) and it only took 35 minutes to wash and dry. It also only cost $4.00. The coolest thing about this place is that it isnt just a laundry mat. It also has two lounge areas, free high speed Internet, and a cafe that serves both food, coffee, and alcoholic beverages. Overall I had an excellent experience here!

Great place to drop in and drink (coffee or booze) and get laundry done. Staff was very helpful and a detergent was provided free. If I remember right it was coconut based. The machines accept both credit cards and coins. The machines will even send a text message to your phone when your cycle is done. The coffee can be taken anywhere in the facility while the booze must stay in the café. If you get the "coffee-in" you are given a stone mug which you can refill from a pot during your stay.

Super laundromat (super well done) -- A wonderful place to do laundry. A civilized and very pleasant place. Great concept. We wish the concept success in Portland and would love to see them in other locals across the country. Bring the concept to Berkeley CA -- shattuck/cedar or college ave/Ashby or college ave./claremont or upper Solano or even Dwight Way/ San Pablo.. Our best good wishes to all involved in making the Spin Laundry Lounge a reality ... J & E
