Worst experience EVER. In response to Mary, who decided to try and hammer someone for their review - school is where theyre supposed to learn how to not only do it right when a customer asks, but hone their craft and their skill both as a hair professional and a person that will be dealing directly with customer service. The feedback is to help that student to get better. As for my experience - I went in and asked for a spiral perm. The person/woman behind the counter spoke to me right off the bat in a condescending way that a test would need to be done on my hair because I had blonde bangs. Her tone should have been friendly. It was far from it. Instead of calling her on it, I waited until someone else went up to the reception area that obviously ran things and spoke with her. Tone was better, but the other person kept interrupting. It got to the point that I raised a card in hand hand enough so that I could block her from my vision and continued to speak with the other person. A clear non-agressive signal I did not want her in my conversation with the other woman. She ignored it and shot me some looks to which I ignored, but since the other woman and I were finished speaking at that point, I went to go sit and wait, looking at a magazine. When it was my turn, the student assigned to me came up and directed me to her chair; I followed. The rude woman I wanted nothing to do with decided she was going to oversee things. She stepped up into my personal bubble and again spoke to me in that condescending tone. I leaned away from her (she was *that* closed) and asked her to step back. She took a half step back. I looked at the student and asked if there was someone that could oversee her instead of whomever this woman was. She looked helpless and kept looking at the woman, so I turned to the woman and asked her. Her ooooooookay did nothing to help as she walked away and went to the other woman I had spoken to earlier. Something was said and the other woman came over. Did she ask what happened? No. She immediately began to jump to rude womans defense and although I tried to explain how rude the rude one was, she cut me off and insisted rude woman wasnt at all rude - then said she could see where this was going and told me to leave, to which I answered, "I can tell." and left. In response to those saying "Theyre just students, you cant expect a great haircut", as a student who transferred from this school to another BECAUSE the teachers believed this exact thing, I will tell you that it is untrue. We are required to take tests and practicals before we get out onto the floor--of we cannot do a great haircut, we are sent back to learn it again--in every other school. So, yes, if someone comes in and wants a great haircut, we are required to do our best to give them the haircut. I stopped going here after coming in to set up my station one day and overhearing a conversation between a customer and one of the instructors. It was a Native American man who I had seen come in before and he had always had really long, beautiful hair. He came in every two months to get one inch removed, just to keep it healthy. Well this day, I took notice that he no longer had the long hair--someone had cut (very sloppily at this) at least seven inches off and had used absolutely no guides while doing so. When the man complained, the instructor responded "Youre at a school. Dont expect much more." At a school. Where you are supposed to be learning how to do quality haircuts. This broke the straw once adding it to the disorganization, the overall bad attitude of all of the instructors and the owner and how most of the students were somehow learning that because it was a school, we didnt have to do our best. I do not recommend going here, end of story. And Im sorry if people have been forced to believe that just because it is a school, things will happen--but that should not be an excuse to LET them happen. If a student or an instructor is slacking off and then getting the remark from paying customers of "Its fine, its just a school. My hair will grow back" they will never learn the correct way about it. Im glad some people have had good reviews, but I honestly dont know how. Even as a student there, I did not feel comfortable and the sanitation habits disgusted me.

The first time we went there we were not happy with the kids haircuts, but we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt (after all this is a hair cutting school). The second time sank them though, I will NEVER EVER go there again!!! I rarely ever complain and figure the person was just having a bad day, but this was too much. This visit one of my sons was totally ignored about wanting to keep his hair long (and we both told her), but he ended up thinking it was o.k. (very short albeit) minus getting scratched all over by the shaver! My other son cried. Me, his dad, and him told the guy we wanted to keep it 2 inches long all the way around. He has no hair now, the guy ignored us, and also made it seriously crooked on top of also scratching his neck repeatedly! I wish the kids would have told me that part at the time! When we told him we were unhappy he just shrugged his shoulders. When I complained they were rude from the start. Then they said they never give money back because the students are just learning. I get that, but even I could cut a straight line, and wouldnt completely rule out what the person wanted. Never did they apologize. When I said how unhappy I was, and said I wouldnt be coming back, they said good! I wonder if the owner knows how rude the majority of the staff is especially the ones behind the desk. Dont make the mistake of going there for any reason, and I feel sorry for the good students being trained there! I would do no stars if I could.

This review is more or less just a response to the person who wrote the Sep 20, 2010 comment (WORST SERVICE EVER) even though that comment is very old, this is just bothering me too much. You must be a little dim, you went to a cosmetology SCHOOL expecting quality service? Its a school! they are mostly just young girls learning an extremely nerve racking craft (especially with people like you bashing them when they make mistakes) and they are also learning customer service skills at this school. You cannot expect the world from this place, you can just expect a smaller bill and possibly a bad haircut. But give these people some slack! These are the people that may shoot to the top of the fashion world before you know it and be giving $500 haircuts in London, Paris, or New York. But for now they are learning and need some sort of support. And did you even think of what you were saying when you wanted it "2 inches long all the way around" of course you kids hair is too short! Thats what you asked for!!! My advice is to know what to ask for when you go get a haircut anywhere, then you will get what you want. If you dont know what an inch looks like, then for gods sake, dont tell them how long you want your hair in inches.
