Stopped coming here over a year ago due to them consistently shrinking my clothing. After at another place that kept cracking the buttons on my dress shirts, I came back to Harvard Cleaners. Why did I come back, especially after my initial time with them? I guess I am for second chances, but namely because I live too close to not take them up on the convenience factor. Turned out to be a mistake. One of the first shirts I brought was brand new and had not been worn (I like to get one cleaning before wearing any new shirts). It came back with an pen ink mark down the collar. They gave me a hard time at first, but agreed to clean it again for no extra charge. It came back normal the second time, so I let it be. This occurred several months ago. However, I recently brought two shirts for cleaning, and they both came back with what looked like rust stains on them. The woman who owns the place with her husband berated and told me that they would not clean my clothes again and to take the $4 ($2/shirt) and leave. I refused to take the money, and told them I had not intended to return anyhow. I immediately went to another dry cleaner who said that they would not be able to clean the shirts, because THEY WERE BEYOND REPAIR! The new dry cleaner even pointed out that it could not have been sweat stains because they were on the outside of the wrist cuffs, but not the inside. DO NOT GO TO HARVARD CLEANERS!!! Dishonest and rude.

Considering that the only review of this business was scathing,I thought to submit a review of my own of Harvard Cleaners. I moved to Philadelphia in the summer of 2008, and as a busy professional, I wasted no time in looking for a professional dry cleaning service near by home. I found the Harvard Cleaners, which is located in the same plaza where I shop for groceries, to be of exceptional quality and a great replacement for the Southern hospitality I received at my dry cleaners in Georgia. The rates are on par with the same services offered by most other dry cleaners and Im always greeted with a pleasant smile and salutation by the staff. I especially love the automated, computer tracking system used at Harvard Cleaners, which keeps track of my drying cleaning preferences (e.g., no starch on dress shirts, etc.) as well as my clothing articles. Thus, I dont have to remind the staff of my preferences on each visit--unlike most other cleaners--or even worse, worry about my articles being lost!! I cant wait to use the in-house alterations service either. Overall, Harvard Cleaners is a great establishment and I doubt that their many happy customers feel the same way too.

The dude who works here is nice; the lady... not so much. One time, she lost one of my shirts, swore that I never brought it in, and then mysteriously found it the next time I showed up. Also, guys, be aware that they will SMASH THE EVER-LOVING CR-A-P out of the buttons on your shirts. Ive had several shirts ruined by this place as a result, but guess what - the other places in the area do it too! Can somebody dry clean some of my shirts without allowing King Kong to operate the freaking cleaning machinery?

Harvard Cleaners does a nice job with dry cleaning, although the chemical they use for suits/ dress pants smells wrotten if your clothing ever gets wet (rain, etc.). The service is great and Im always greeted by a smile and never have to give them my name or even wait - just drop your clothes on the counter and go, knowing they will be ready same day. Their tailoring, however, is below par. Stick with a real tailor and youll be happy.

Do not recommend that you go to this place. They take your clothes and inform you of the hours and then they close early, leaving you with no clothes until the next week. When you travel frequently for work, like me, this places an inordinate burden on you and just today, I was forced to get new clothes to compensate for their ignorance. Do NOT recommend!!

My Winter White Wool Coat sat in a closet for 10 years in a plastic bag. The coat which was never worn was yellowing, stained and had dust and cobwebs. The cost to clean was $18 and the coat was like new when I picked it up. I have since named the owner The WIZARD - unbelievable finished product. I was definitely pleased. Thank you!

They gave fast service and dry cleaned item was in better condition. They misinformed me about the price and charged me more. My experience was just about ok.

I have had a good experience overall, I would just say if you expect it to be done asap. It will unlikely be done that fast.
