I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Kaleidoscope Child Center. I have sent both my children there for 6 years now. My oldest no longer attends as he graduated to first grade but he talks still talks constantly about the center and how he misses it especially the teachers. I currently have a 7 month old in the infant room. The teachers there now are FABULOUS! I never worry about my son while I m at work as I am sure he is in good hands. I have been known to pop in throughout the day and the babies are always well cared for. I have never seen more than 4 babies to 1 teacher in the infant room. The teachers there are excellent with the babies. My son gets excited when he sees them every day. The director is very hands on also. When my older son attended the center she always had very creative ideas to keep the children interested while learning. I was really impressed with what my son was able to do prior to Kindergarten. He was able to write his first and last name, he knew the entire alphabet - upper and lower case, was able to do simple addition and subtraction as well as basic spanish!! He LOVED it. I also love how the director has special days for the kids such as bring your bike, special picinics, parades. One really cool program she had was a month of travel each week the children got a stamp in their passport and learned about differnt cultures. My older son always looked forward to going to school You can really tell the director loves her job and really cares for all the children at the center. Any of my concerns were addressed immediately and professionally. The center itself is very nice. There is a wonderful play area for the children to play outside. The center is always fresh smelling and clean. I have witnessed the teachers in the infant room cleaning the changing table after each use. Someone is always running the vaccuum. As I mentioned I have been attending the center for over 6 years now. I couldn t have asked for a better place to send my children.

My child attended Kaleidoscope from the age of 6 weeks to nearly 6 years. I can not imagine a much better place to send my child. When I began sending my child here, I had the impression that daycare was a terrible thing, and felt horrible for having to send my child to a daycare facility, but my opinion rapidly changed by the warmness I felt from the staff. I never felt that my child was neglected, or that there was not appropraite staffing. They are always doing tons of special activities to coordinate with real-life events (held olympics when it was the summer Olympics, had a mock election at election time) Each year, your child moves to another room and every year, the teacher was wonderful, and my child flourished. The teachers there really take time to know each child. They would remember we were going out of town, and ask how the trip was, and the Director even remembered we were planning a family vacation, and had coupons for where we were going. Over the time we were there, the employees and Director of the center became like my extended family. The program here prepared my child extremely well for kindergarten, and leaving the center was like losing part of our family. I will forever recomend this place to anyone looking for a daycare facility.

My son has attended Kaleidoscope since he was 6 months old. He currently started kindergarten and when he was tested he was a year and a half ahead of schedule. The curriculum at Kaleidoscope is heavily based on educating children which is so beneficial today. Any opportunity that anyone can give their child to learn is so important in todays environment. There are also so many fun activities that this daycare provides such as water day, bike day and seasonal themed days. My son learned about other countries through the passport around the world program that was provided. Every week he learned about about a new country. It is simply not a baby-sitting service. Recently, I have enrolled my other son here. He is now 9 months old. I plan keeping him here until he starts kingergarten also. So in total, I will have invested 12 years of my time and money into this daycare. I wouldnt tread lightly in doing this if I did not think it was a terrific place for my children. As a parent, no one can provide enough attention and love as you can to your own child. But, I really believe that Kaleidoscope is such a close second.

Given the fact that I have had my children at the center for seven years, this would serve as evidence that this is more than an appropriate place for children. It was/is always comforting that my children are in no hurry to leave at the end of their day. The lesson planning is creative and meets the needs of the students. The crafts that are brought home are hanging throughout my basement to be displayed on our "art walls". Various activities such as bike day, water day, meeting the Letter People, Thanksgiving Feast, and 4th of July picnics are just a few examples of the engaging experiences my children have had. The director came highly recommended to me by another parent over seven years ago. I am so happy that I followed this recommendation. I will continually recommend Kaleidoscope to families looking for a nurturing, positive, and engaging childcare center in the south hills area. It will be hard saying goodbye as my children move onto new stages in their lives, but I will always feel confident that they received an a more than appropriate preschool and pre-K foundation at Kaleidoscope.

The director is hands on because the shelf life for a teacher at this school is two months. The lessons are cheap because the materials are cheap. Individual problems with your child are often ignored so that the teachers or director does not have to communicate. They shift kids around rooms in order to stay in ratio, so your two year old might end up spending the day with three year olds. They employ teachers of questionable character. Overpriced for what you get. I would not recommend.

The owner is very friendly and helpful. She is extremely loving and caring with my children. The prices are lower compared to other surrounding child centers. I am glad that I placed all 4 of my children there. My children ranged in ages Kindergarten to 6th grade. They all went there and the staff accommodated activities for all their age ranges. Thank you Kaleidoscope, we love you.
