La Luna has excellent teachers and friendly students! I have received compliments on my dancing and can thank La Luna for that. Most of their instructors have competed nationally, and really know their stuff. I also like the fact that they are a larger studio which allows them to offer a full schedule of classes in many different styles, to suit many tastes and schedules. Salsa is their mainstay but they also have top-notch instructors in ballroom, West Coast Swing, and Argentine Tango. They have many Zumba classes too, if you want to get a great workout. My fellow students are super nice people, too. The dance parties often have raffles, games, contests, performances, etc. to make it a fun night. In regards to La Lunas billing and pricing, the few negative reviews below are false. Their prices and polices are clearly stated on their website. I made sure to read through it carefully before joining, and the front desk staff will gladly explain it as well. At their cheapest membership level (1 class per week), the price per class averages about $14 each, which is in the range of other studios. Prices are less, if you take more classes. The thing is, La Lunas system encourages students to attend classes regularly, and the consistent learning will improve your dancing much more than just dropping in now and then.

Many people watch dance on TV and wish they could do it themselves. Learning to dance takes time and effort. La Luna brings in good teachers and offers a full schedule. If your schedule and budget allow, you can take classes 6 days a week. My wife take lessons 6 days a week at La Luna. We find the platinum membership to be a good value. Platinum Membership allows for unlimited classes and free admission to the twice-monthly dances, which have a buffet style dinner. If you take more than five lessons per week, you are ahead of the game with a platinum membership. La Luna has an internet hot spot, so you can bring your laptop to do your homework or check your email. The snack bar has homemade treats as well as the standard items you would find at a snack bar. The crowd that hangs out at La Luna is educated and cosmopolitan. Many languages are spoken and many holidays are celebrated. It takes effort to learn to dance and the students help each other out. It is great to have such a broad based social network. When you go out dancing, it is nice to have, so many people that know you that it never hard to find someone for a dance.

I have been a member for 6 years & in the interim, many salsa venues have come & gone but La Luna is still going strong. The lessons are taught by some of the best instructors in the area, most of whom also travel all over the world teaching workshops & performing. What I love about La Luna is that they are always looking for ways to promote Salsa in a very friendly & elegant environment (including the Annual Philadelphia Salsafest) & collaborates with many other instructors and venues in the tri-state area. You can pay as you go or become a member; either way you will enjoy learning salsa, bachata, cha cha & meet lots of fun people! Oh, their salsa socials are an amazing value & the perfect place to get your sexy on without worrying about drunks on the dance floor LOL!

My fiance and I just started taking ballroom dance lessons for our upcoming wedding. My guy was dreading it right up until we walked into the studio. After the first minute with our instructor his mindset totally changed. We had so much fun and learned a ton after just one lesson. We cant wait to get back there next week. Jose is awesome!

My daughter has dance here for about 7 years. She loves the instructors and the facility. Tap, ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, pointe, etc., its all all very good. And they have classes for adults too. Everyone is very friendly but also very professional; firm but fun. They have an excellent recital every June. It all runs so smoothly.

The Best place to go to learn how to dance. I took lessons here as a cardio workout for 3 years. They have the best programs, socials, and all out fun. I recommend this to anyone not interested in watching people dance, but want to show off and dance themselves. In my 30s I never met such a large group of outgoing fun people to go out with.

Jackie Shapiros ballroom smooth and rhythm classes rock! 6 hours per week of cha cha, rumba, waltz, and more. Best exercise ever and plenty of enthusiastic dance students. This studio also offers Argentine Tango, Salsa, West Coast Swing, and Hustle, too, by instructors who are expert in these dances.

A good place to learn to dance salsa, bachata and other latin dances! Good facility that includes comfortable seating, free public wifi and places to get work done in between or after classes. Awesome Friday parties too!

I meet Sonya every week on Wednesday for Salsa class at Brasils and its always a treat. Sonya teaches the intermediate class here and even over a year later I still learn at least one new move every time I see her.
