I came in twice last week to first get my hair cut and then lightened. I showed my stylist a picture of what I wanted (an all over purple color). I was going to do the purple color on my own, I just wanted my hair bleached/lightened so the dye would be visible on my brown hair. The stylist was so dead set on doing things her way (balayage) that I did not end up getting what I wanted. I told her several times that I would rather not do the balayage. First, she told me to do a few strands and see what it looked like before I made a decision, and then she told me it was "too late," although shed only done several strands. She assured me Id get the finished product I wanted. I did not. At all. Not even close. A few strands of purple is not at all what I wanted - as I said, I wanted all-over color. Ive done this before and know that I need to lighten my hair at least to a dark blonde to get the color to stay. I tried to tell her this, but she was determined that I was getting her special hair style, no matter what I wanted. I came in knowing what I wanted, and was bulldozed by your stylist, most likely because she (a "balayage artist") needed more work for her portfolio, which I later learned she was showing this weekend. Im disappointed, because I did really like the atmosphere and staff.

If you have long curly hair, Jocelyn is who you need to see!! Most hair stylists are afraid when they see my hair: long, thick and curly. Not only is Jocelyn enthusiastic, she does an awesome job with whatever I want done: color, cut, blow out! I still remember all the compliments I got after Jocelyn did my hair! When you go to Hair Apropos, make sure to ask for Jocelyn!! You wont be disappointed!

Great atmosphere. Everyone is friendly! Get your eyebrows done... best job of it anywhere. And for your hair, see Jocelyn, she listens to what you want or can guide you for what will work for your hair. Shes also laid back and fun.
