I decided to become a member of this gym because a friend of mine had joined and I thought it would be fun to go together. Let me just say, wow, I wish I could get my money back. To start out, I wanted to join for one month during the summer which costs a hefty $50. For one month!!! I would have avoided this, but they take you into an office and it becomes a high pressure sales contract kind of deal, which was a little bit uncomfortable for me. I really wish that I had taken a look around the gym before I had signed the contract. The equipment works, but is antiquated and some is broken! The womens locker room is just as bad. It is in desperate need of an update and there is some kind of odor that I couldnt place, but I can tell you for sure that it wasnt the smell of cleaning agents. Speaking of cleaning, this, rather, lack of, was a big deal breaker for me. I noticed that there is a lack of cleaning supplies for cleaning down the machines. There is one bottle of cleaner for the whole gym and this is noticeably hard to find and when you do find it, there are no paper towels in sight! Just from going a few times, I noticed that no one really tries to clean their machines, which really grossed me out. I know if I am sweating when I am using a machine, other people are too, and they are not cleaning up after themselves! Gross! However, aside from this, the staff is great! They are very helpful and always looking for ways to make your workout even better. This I miss a little bit. Also, the implementation of the electronic exercise log thingy is pretty cool. It tracks your progress and makes sure that you are using the machines properly, which is pretty nifty! Anyway, of the three gyms that I have been a member of: Final Results, my Universitys gym, and now Planet Fitness. Final Results was #3 on my list, nothing to write home about. Antiquated, dirty gym with a young, motivated staff.

I was a member for about two weeks. I asked to cancel my membership after I discovered that pretty much none of the cardio monitors worked on the cardio equipment and the entire grip bar on one of the ellipticals came right off in my hand. Also, some of the weight machines (the standing leg press in particular) was in dangerous ill repair resulting in about 230 lbs of weights dropping about 2 inches onto my shoulders. Lastly, re-used rags and spray bottles were used to wipe down the equipment. Not as sanitary as paper towels or pre-soaked wipes. For the money you could find better quality at Planet Fitness or Anytime Fitness in the same vicinity.

I belonged here in the nineties, I even did a voice over for the place on one of their public access commercials back then. Im pretty disgusted with the whole thing. I joined and went 3 times, hated it...The place hasnt been updated since the last time I was there (1997). I spend allot of time out of the country and dont have time to go. Technically I live out of the area 75% of the time and it qualifies me for cancellation. Do they give me the courtesy of canceling my membership? No....33$ a month. Their minimum. But wait! I can get out of it if I buy 100$ card for ten visits. Omg
