$10/month is a bit misleading when you factor in their $39 annual fee, (bringing the cost up to $13.25/month), but its still a very good value. I have been going for more than a year, and even during peak times, have never had to wait for a cardio machine; they have dozens of ellipticals, treadmills, stationary bikes, and a couple other kinds of machines in small quantities, e.g. a few comically high stair-climbers. The free weights available are not that extensive, but for those who do not enjoy working out near powerlifters, who ask for spotters, who then shout encouragement at high volume, & wear clothing that reveals more than most folks want to see, this isnt necessarily a bad thing. These are also not appropriate facilities for those into crossfit. Pottstown has 2 other gyms for that. They just finished a months-long & very dusty renovation of the locker rooms, which almost made me stop coming, but its finished, and they look great now. They even unnecessarily installed new lockers. The staff there is probably the best part. Theyre always there, always ready to help, friendly, and even though Ive never asked for their training assistance, they seem very reasonable & mellow in that capacity, not like other places, where they might be somewhat intense. They do need more nautilus machines though. I frequently have to weight for a wait-machine. Pun intended, which some people like to sit & rest on between sets. I sometimes run out of workout time before I get on all the machines I had planned to use that day. And there is only one roman chair, which almost always has a wait. They have what appears to be an over-abundance of circuit training machines & steppers. They might be used other times of the day, but I guess Im at work at those times.

Im giving Planet Fitness 4 stars because you get what you pay for. This gym is extremely cheap comparatively, and with no contract it is very convenient. If you are a serious athlete, or know how to truly exercise, this gym is NOT for you. However, if you are the casual gym-goer, just starting to get back into shape, or plan on going to the gym very infrequently, this may be perfect for your purposes. There are no medicine balls, stability balls, bands, or even a scale! Very, very limited on freeweights. These are a few of the reasons why this gym is not for the serious fitness person. There are, however, plenty of cardio equipment available and rarely do you go in and not find an open treadmill or elliptical. (Around 5 or 5:30pm would be the only time I have seen all of the machines full.) So, if you dont mind people on their cell phones on equipment and people "walking" on the treadmill while holding onto the handrails and reading abook at the same time, and you are not gung-ho about working out.... then this gym is good and serves its purpose. Also good for just starting your weight-loss regimine (because of its "no judgement" policy). However, if you are serious about your training, I would suggest forking up the extra cash and going elsewhere.

I recently returned from active duty and switched to reserve, so naturally I need to stay in half decent shape to continue me service. I find it difficult to come in to pf and actually get a good workout in. They have more equipment than Ive ever had available in the military machine wise. The price is what keeps me with this gym and nothing else, the free time I have to get to the gym is right at their "rush hour" its gotten so much worse since January of this year and it makes it so that I cant really get a good workout worth my time. That being said its great for sombody starting out in getting fit no complexity,simple machines, no showboaters, bit for a guy like me whos used to a good workout... its not going to work for me much longer Im losing to much of my hard earned body

Been going regularly for the past year and have always found the staff to be friendly and the facility clean. Very nice range of equipment and if youre interested in new equipment, it looks like they updated virtually all the main equipment. Ive used some of the new machines at other locations and I seem to get a better workout with them. Looking forward to trying them all.

I just joined the Pottstown Planet Fitness! What an awesome experience the people are so nice and helpful! I was reallys scared about starting a workout program because of a bad back, the trainer has worked with me every step of the way and is so encouraging! What a great value for $10/mo I am so happy I decided to do this with these people!!!!

The best service, the staff is always very nice, no matter what time you come. They got new machines and remodeled the entire gym and it looks great. Honestly the best planet fitness in the area in my opinion. Im so happy I moved around here.

Well maintained, nice staff and they upgraded the equipment at least twice in the past two or so years. PF isnt for everyone but for most this will do just fine, especially for $10-20 /mo.

Just move from Philadelphia to pottstown, when i walked in a saw the gym i was shocked , the machine are all old and out dated.
