I dont recommend this company. Poor quality work. They put in my new floors prior to painting, then splattered paint all over them, installed the new pipes for my clawfoot tub so close to the wall that I couldnt fit a baseboard behind it, workers smoked inside while doing the work, and never cleaned up after themselves. I walked in once while my bedroom was being painted and they had not washed the walls and were just rolling the paint over dirt and cobwebs. These are just a handful of examples of the issues I have had. At the time of this posting we have now gone almost a month past the contract end date, and its dragging on. Talk to other contractors in the area and they will let you know this companys reputation. I wish I had. One positive: they stayed within my budget, but at what cost to my sanity and quality of work? I would never use them again. - Originally posted this review in September 2015. Update (June 2016) They still have not installed the final window they were supposed to. Its a custom window they had to order and according to the window company is still sitting at their warehouse. Every few weeks I try to call or text John to ask when theyll be putting it in, but never hear back.

Dirr wood

Called John and set up an appoint to look at a 35-40k bathroom remodel. He came on time looked around around and seemed interested in the job, said give him a week to bid/spec. I called and left a message after a week with no response. I then emailed which he responded "Ill get something to you very soon". i waited another week called and emailed, and got no response. Communication is key and apparently he lost his. I have since bid the remodel out and secured a contractor..... I would waste your time on getting bid from from this guy. There are other really good contractors out there that will respond to you and get the job done!

John Hancock Contracting is the best primier general contracting service in the pittsburgh area. I have seen many of the restorations and remodels from this company before i decided they were the right choice. The workers were very polite and knowledgeable. They worked with me through all the steps from design and placement of fixtures, to my liking, to staying within my budget. I would recommend John Hancock Contracting to anyone for any home repair.

They are awesome. I hired them to do my 203K renovations. They stayed in my budget and made my house look amazing. The workers are very nice and they showed me everything they were doing when I would stop by. John himself is very nice and informs you if they need you do something. I would recommend them to anyone that needs to do a 203k in the Pittsburgh area.
