I contacted South Hills Electric to fix my broken Air Conditioning condenser. They were very late coming and the man looked at my outside condenser unit and said that it needed a new cooling motor or fan that sits at the top inside the metal housing. So he replaced it with a real cheap Emerson brand motor that was not powerful enough to turn my heavy metal blade propeller well enough. It worked for approximately three days and then quit. They charged me $832.00 dollars for this cheap motor a expensive capacitor which had many farad settings on it which was not needed at all. I only needed a normal capacitor which was my correct farad rating. And the one hour of labor needed to install the motor. Anyways, I looked up the motor they stuck in my a/c unit on EBay and it was a $23.00 cheap, cheap motor and was all the guy had on his truck. Their bill stated the price of this motor as being $423.00. Well after calling them and telling them it wasnt working again after three days the same guy came back out and said the motor bearing must of went and he could fix just the motor again for just under $600.00. I said what??? It only lasted three days and he said well there is no warranties on anything electrical and thats the best he could offer. I was furious because I knew that the cheaper motor he put in was only$23 on EBay and was way under powered to turn the heavier metal blade my unit had. He said they couldnt do any more for me unless I wanted to buy a whole new unit from them for $2400.00. I told their service guy to get off my property immediately and to never come back. This company is a total scam and you cannot trust them at all. They will rip you off. I ended up ordering the correct rated motor a GE Motor on EBay for $200.00 and replaced it myself. Its still working great now after all most a year but I sure wish I never got invo!fed with South Hills Electric as that $200 dollar motor rep!a cement ended up costing me over $1000.00 thanks to these jerks. They won!d not give me a Penney back either. Please beware of this place. I reported them to the BBB but they never really do anything much anyways. Whatever you decide, leave South Hills Electric out of it. Thanks, I sure wish I saw a review like this one before I chose this Company and hope you do too...

Purchased a Living Social deal for a furnace inspection and was blown away by the professionalism, friendliness, and honestly of our technician, Justin! He encouraged me to go through the inspection with him; before he checked anything he told me what would be a good finding and what would be a bad finding; he gave me several options for repair/replacement (we purchased the inspection deal because the unit was sometimes noisy so it does require work). Justin was very forthcoming about pricing and urgency of repair. Rarely have I ever been so pleased with a service call. RECOMMEND!!!!!

Furnace died at 11 pm on a Saturday night with temperatures dropping to below zero. :-( Called South Hills Electric, who installed the furnace and provided my 10 year warranty. Got excellent customer service from the office and a callback from the technician in 5 minutes. Justin diagnosed the problem and got a new one right off the truck. He had my furnace up and running within 10 minutes of arrival. He also was very thorough and checked on the operation and settings. From my phone call to having a repaired furnace took all of 30 minutes. Cant beat good service!!!

Called for an electrician today and had my Uncle describe the problem I was having with the installation of my bedroom ceiling fan. The electrician told him we might have to reinstall the old wires with new wires. When I called them back 5 minutes later after getting the green light from my dad for the pricing, the receptionist put me on hold. A few minute later she came back and said "yeah sorry were going to have to pass"...with no explanation and hung up. What kind of business is that???

When deciding what kind of system to buy, the workers at South Hills Electric came to our house to help us select the features and pricing that would work the best with our family. They were very helpful and not pushy at all. When they came back to the house to install our furnace/ac they were very polite and professional. They did a wonderful job with the installation and now it is working perfectly. We would definitely to business with South Hill Electric again and again.

South Hills came out to sort the wiring in a 4 switch wall receptacle. From the previous house owners the wiring in there was a rats nest of wires, some of which didnt seems to work. The technician was able to test and logically identify each wire and make them functional and safe. He also troubleshot and fixed a faulty outside light. This is the second time we have used South Hills and they do a great job.

DO NOT HIRE. Receptionist answered my call and quoted me $89 just to come to the house, I needed a smart light switch installed. Said if they could finish the job in 30 minutes the charge would be $89. Electrician finished the very simple job in less than 30 minutes and charged me $219!!! Electrician did not give me up front pricing and company owners were unwilling to reduce the bill at all. Rip Off!

Had a major electrical issue arise while I was selling my home. Not only were they very responsive, they also aided in assuring the buyer of my home, that the issue was resolved. While the service they performed was relatively inexpensive, the follow up and willing to assist me weeks after the fact, truly shows that they actually care.
