Very disappointed with Ostrom. I called them as a new potential customer and am unhappy with their methodology for quoting customers. So this is my need. I have 1 bedroom in my house that was built in the 50s where the electric receptacles need replacing because cords literally fall out of the wall. I explained that this is a very simple procedure that can be done in 15 minutes, that I wanted a ballpark figure, and that I wont do this myself because I dont deal with electric. So apparently with Ostrom you have to agree to a $38 fee for them just to come out. At this point, after my situation is assessed, the technician may or may not work on the issue. (Again this is 3 outlets being replaced which can be done in less than 15 minutes total) After you pay the $38 fee, I then get charged for the work, but not at an hourly rate. So at this point I can in no way look at the fair market value and competition but must sell my soul to Ostrom. Sorry, not biting. I will find a licensed electrician that will be honest and upfront with me initially. Ostrom sounds corrupt, no thanks. Charles C.

I hesitated to call Ostrom because of previous reviews re: the price but in the end I contacted them because of the positive reviews regarding their quality of work. Prompt, professional and courteous from the beginning phone call to the office (Jennifer?) all the way through to the service visit. Jonathan arrived during the estimated window of an hour and he was even prepared to cover his shoes with shoe covers so as not to track the rain in my house. He was very patient with all of my questions. He was knowledgeable and offered what seemed to be reasonable advice to resolve my plumbing issues. He explained two options of what would need to be done to resolve the issue and provided quotes for each option. In a time where customer service is severely lacking it is so refreshing to have friendly, reliable service. I also appreciate that unnecessary repairs didnt seem to be pushed on me...because of this, I have now added Ostrom to my contacts for my plumbing needs in addition to the other services they offer for electrical and heating/air.

I just bought a new home and had several different jobs I wanted done. The most important one was getting my power upgraded to 200amp service as well as getting a new fuse box relocated to a different area . I had gotten several estimates from different companys and even a few class a contractors on the work and they ranged from $1,800-$2,400. ostrum was going try to charge me over $3,900 . Needless to say I was very disappointed I was waiting to see if they would give me a great price. Also the rewiring of my home would have been over$7,500 which is insane. If they would have given me a great price I would have wrote them a check for the work today and also given them the job of installing a natural gas tankless hot water heater and a new heat pump. So they will be losing lots of money over such a bad decision to try and get so much profit on one job. Not to mention how many friends and family I know will be finding out how they do things . Very nice people horrible prices .

My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Ostrom Electric & Plumbing on a recent major electrical project at our residence. From beginning to end, we found every part of the Ostrom experience to be professional, friendly and accommodating. Communication on this project was simple and accommodating to our needs. We prefer to work via email so it was nice to have a tech savvy contractor who was comfortable with technology and ultra responsive. ...everything from meeting our last minute request for the initial consultation and proposal to working with us on our aggressive timeline for implementation required only a simple request from us to David in order to make it happen. The quality of their work can be seen in every aspect of the project--from the way their employees respected our home and property to the clean wiring installation and clean-up after the job was completed. My hot water heater broke recently and was leaking all over the basement floor. Called Ostrom and they had someone over the next day. The workmen were John, Jason, and Drew. They arrived on time and were extremely polite. They immediately got to work and had a new 50 gallon hot water heater on the property and installed the same day. They were not only very professional, but also were willing and able to answer all of my questions and went beyond the basics of the job to make sure that everything was in place and in safe working order before they left. They pulled the proper permits and their work was inspected by the city the next day. The city inspector even commented that Ostrom is a great company and that they consistently do good work. I am now a subscriber to their customer service plan and will definitely be calling them if I need any electrical or plumbing work in the future.

I recently had a plumbing issue, where I couldnt use my kitchen or laundry room at all. I tried contacting a number of local plumbing companies, many of which didnt even call me back, and the few who did either couldnt come the same day or wanted an outrageous fee just for coming to my home. Thankfully when I contacted Ostrom they had someone at my door literally within 30 minutes FOR NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. The service tech who came was Jason K. and he was excellent. He clearly explained what the issue was, spoke with my home warranty company to inform them of the issue, the proceeded to do the work expediently and throughly. He was OK with me watching and asking questions throughout the process so I knew what was going on, and gave me some tips to prevent future issues. Overall it was a great experience and I was happy with the service and incredible response time.

Highly recommend. They were the first company we called for some electrical issues on a house we just purchased. Im so glad we didnt call anyone else. We had several questions about our water filtration system too and he pointed out an issue that we probably wouldnt have found since weve never had a house with the filtration system. I couldnt have been happier with their services. Very professional. George and James took the time to clean and went the extra mile on explaining everything. Will be using them again in the near future. I would give credit to the plumbing guys too but I wasnt home when they were to here to get their names. As far as price goes...since we didnt call any other companies for quotes I cant give my opinion on it. However I feel that what we paid was very fair and that is about the amount that I expected.

Attempted to screw me out of a lot of money. Gave them a call because my hot water heater was having problems, the guys who came to my house told me not only did I have to replace my hot water heater, but the only way they would be able to get it out of my house was to knock a wall down and remove it that way. All in all they wanted to charge me over 3 grand just to install a hot water heater, and another thousand to make my doorway wider. I know Im a new home owner but this is the kind of s**t you see on Dateline with Chris Hansen. I am thoroughly disgusted with how this place tried to full on take advantage of me because I am a younger home owner. The second place I called told me a coil needed to be replaced and charged me next to nothing. Never again with the scam known as Ostrum Electrical Plumbing Heating and Air
