I worked at the salon so I also got my hair done there. I went in and Sally was doing my hair. She washed out the products and I went to the bathroom. Washing my hands my head began to itch I gave it a quick rub when my hand came down I noticed my hand covered in hair. I panicked. I was terrified they said in was normal. I knew it was not. Aileen the head stylist was there the whole time and never noticed the chemicals were on too long. No one noticed or just didnt care too. I stayed silent the whole time watching the floor seeing my hair shed with ever gust from the blow dryer. They put a leave in conditioner and rushed me out the floor saying I would be fine. After two hours I washed out the conditioner. I watched as clumb after clumb of my hair fell out. I cried with each clumb of hair that came from my head. I cried myself to sleep in the morning I woke up to my pillow covered in hair. I also woke up to two bald spots on my head. I contacted the salon manager and sent pictures of the damage she didnt even respond with a phone call. They acted like I didnt matter. I had no choice but to shave my head. When I came back into only one girl went truly sorry. Aileen and Sally couldnt care less. They offered me nothing not even a wig to make me feel better about how I looked . They said whats done is done. I have been insulted day In and out because of them. I have been called a boy a dyke because of them. These people do not know what they are doing take your money else where. I dont want you to suffer the way I did.

I had a superlative experience at Salon Desante two nights ago, one of the best salon experiences of my life. I was a new customer who had gotten a Ouidad haircut in NY city and Salon Desante is an authorized Ouidad Salon, so I decided to give it a try for my color and highlights, figuring they understood curly hair. Maria was my stylist and colorist and she was impeccable. She listened closely to what I wanted to achieve and then offered her guidance and designed a plan for the colored highlights I wanted. She was focused and creative and at the same time warm and engaging. Brantley was her assistant and he was wonderful: Great shampoos and rinses, attentive and genuine, a wonderful conversationalist. But all that warmth and welcome would be nothing without a finished product that made me happy, and Maria delivered: I have the best color and highlights of my entire life, subtle, gorgeous, sophisticated and natural. I never write online reviews because I find it tedious but I had to share how wonderful Maria and Brantley were and how much I loved Salon Desante. When you find a hidden gem like this, you have to celebrate and spread the word!

If you have thick hair thats wavy or curly, you might have trouble finding a hairdresser that truly understands how to give you a haircut that both flatters your hair type and makes it easier to manage. Ive had so many experiences going to salons and getting layers intended for thin hair, resulting in the goofy Carol Brady bob-on-the-top, flip-out on the bottom look. Or the stylist gives up and gives you a blunt cut, leaving your hair with no shape whatsoever. Then I found Bali. She knows exactly what to do for thick hair and gives thorough instructions on the best ways to manage it. Her haircuts require minimum wrangling afterward - most of the time I straighten my ends with a flat iron to try to keep them from flipping out, but she cuts in a way that I dont need to do that as often. She gives my hair a great shape so if I decide to leave it curly, it requires minimal effort to make it look good. For anyone with similar experiences with their hair - try Bali! She really knows her stuff!

Long story short, I had brain surgery December of 15, the right side of my head was shaved. I searched for a salon that did hair extensions and found Salon Desante, I stopped in thats when I met Nikki, she said come back in 6 weeks its to short. After patiently waiting going back and forth until June my hair was long enough for the extensions. Being somewhat uncomfortable with the scar and indentation on my scull they were professional and polite. After six months of extensions it was time for a whole new look for my hair was about down to my chest. With the help from Nikki we picked a hair style I never thought I would do, SHORT! It turned out amazing and the color was outstanding! I am 53 and work with all men and they absolutely loved it! Hats off to Salon Desante and and crew, awesome place great experience! I have been going to Salon DeSante (Springfield) since i was 13 years old; 11 years later and I can honestly say that I have never had a bad experience! My mom, grandmom, aunt, and fiance all come to this salon! Every time I walk through their door, they greet you with a smile and a friendly hello. I have fallen in love with Bali, not only is she my hairstylist but I consider her family! She has watched me grow and helped me get through my awkward teen years! I am getting married next year; of corse she is doing my hair along with being a guest at my wedding! She is truly a sweet heart and does amazing work from cuts and hair styles to roots and color! I would not only recommend Bali but any of the other hairstylists! They are all so friendly and everyone leaves with a smile on their face!

The Staff at Salon Desante always make me feel like a Princess. They are so attentive, professional and everyone is so friendly. Aileen asks questions to learn more about my daily routine and my thoughts on what style I am going for. We discuss different options that would work and then she does her magic. I never leave there disappointed! And I love their hairspray. It has a light feeling but a great hold and it NEVER clogs. I bought another hairspray and after the 3rd use, it clog and the hairspray goes in ever direction but where it needs to go. I travel a lot and it would be great to have it in travel size.

It took me almost 20 years to find a place and a hairstylist that I trust. I have curly hair and cowlicks so I need someone knowledgeable and talented to style my hair. I have finally found that in Carrie and Salon Desante. She really listens and seeks to understand what I want. She is honest and caring. Her talent exceeds my expectation and I always leave happy. I think you would be in good hands with any of the staff here and the salon in general. If you have curly hair this is the salon you have been searching for.

I have been going to Salon DeSante for 4 years and I will never go anywhere else! Frank DeSante does amazing things with hair! I am confident in his skills to go in there without a picture and rely on his imagination and talent, which Ive never been able to do elsewhere! I always come out with the most amazing color that lasts well over 8 weeks! The salon products they sell are fabulous and overall I just enjoy the experience of going to this salon.
