If you click on the web pages link up above you can see that most other review sites are much more favorable. As for me, I dont know if my 4 and 6 year old girls will ever be professional dancers. I do know that I want them to succeed and to be known for their self confidence in whatever task they undertake. That success comes to those who treat others with respect and dignity. When we went to an open house at Harrisons Studio in West Chester, the dancers were good, as you would expect, but that wasnt what really impressed my wife and I. During an intermission, two young ladies, about 8 years old, went down the line of parents, introduced themselves to each of us and then to our children. After they had made the run down the line they stepped back out of the way for the next performance, and started talking between themselves. I was close enough that I could hear them; they were quizzing each other on the names of all the girls they had spoken to! Later they said goodbye to everyone using their name. They did this very casually and most people probably didnt even notice, I just happened to be sitting in the right place at the right time. This is typical for what you would expect from Harrisons, they teach girls about the importance of being a good person and how to do it. While we of course have to teach our own children about values, its nice to know that your dance school is backing up those lessons. Later I spoke to an associate that I know who specializes in photographing dancers. Without telling her about my experience, I asked if she knew anything about the studio, her response was that she only knew that they were always the best mannered, best poised, easiest subjects to work with. Often dancers can make our job as photographers difficult, despite what their parents pay us, so to hear that was very surprising, and sealed the deal for my family. Weve been there for a little over a year and half, and it continues to be a wonderful experience. Are there better technique schools out there? I dont know, but I do know that Im glad were at Harrisons.

My 2 daughters danced at Harrisons, one for 15years, and it was one of the BEST decisions we have ever made...we daily drove 45", past many other schools to dance at Harrisons because of the professionalism, attention to detail within their Classical training, and dedicated staff. At EVERY performance and competition we attended, comments were made by judges and other parents, You can always tell a Harrisons dancer...poise, maturity, acting like ladies, ability to speak to adults in a respectful and dignified manner...I cannot begin to thoroughly quantify the benefits of a Harrisons Dance education!! My oldest is now professionally dancing at Busch Gardens and was superbly prepared for the demands of 4 shows a day. During the school year, She attends the Institute for American Musical Theater in NYC, and her Ballet Master from the Joffrey Ballet compliments her technique, precision, and carriage. The brilliant tap training positioned her to win summer acceptances and scholarships w/ the Rockettes Summer Intensives many years in a row. She is now auditioning for Broadway shows and being taken very seriously for her training and technique. I cant thank Debbie and Christine Harrison, Miss Cait, and the rest of the exemplary staff enough for the years of sharing their skills w/ my daughters, and teaching them so many life lessons along the way.

This dance studio is so unprofessional. They do not teach their students proper ballet, jazz, hip hop, or tap technique proper terminology. They do not even teach the students lyrical or modern dance. I do not know how this studio stays in business because they do not know what they are talking about. I was previously there and was invited to their professional team when I went to the Rock School I had to be completely retaught of technique. Bad posture, arms, and simple technique they are not aware of. Even there website is mostly about how beautiful and amazing your daughter is and how beautiful she will be on stage. If you really want to give your child a chance to make it in the dance world take her to a real dance studio. They also have sweaty old men that partner with the girls instead of teaching the girls to work with their partner and dance with them as an art. They dont even wear the right shoes for tap !! Please send your child to a real studio.

My daughter danced with Harrisons for years and when we decided to try another school, "The Rock School" we were told that after 8 years of dancing with Harrisons she basically needed to be RETRAINED. Harrisons "professional" staff are Harrisons GRADUATES. Hardly the definition of "professional". My daughter was not even aware of the proper terms of BASIC ballet positions let alone the proper positions themselves. Their spring recitals are BRUTAL at over 4 hours sometimes, while your child is on stage for 5 minutes while the "senior" company showcases THEMSELVES for most of the time, and it seems that $$ charges for "this & that" are continuous and unexpected. Yes, the teachers are friendly and nice, however, for the same price of tuition/costumes & other unseen costs, you can get QUALITY instruction at a PROFESSIONAL studio such as The Rock School for Dance Education. This is NOT a school for any dancer serious about dancing. Dont waste your money.

Harrisons Dance studio is a fabulous school to go to. They have the highest expectations for all of their students, including the little ones, and have fun while doing so. Of course, students will get out of it what they put into it. "Pratice makes perfect." As for the comment before, all teachers have there own technique. From my experiance there, everyone uses proper terms for the positions and steps. The teacher just may not put an emphasis on learning them or the student didnt take everything from the class that the should have.

We have been part of the Harrison Dance Studios for 12 years now! I have watched my daughter grow into a beautiful and confident dancer due to the hard work and loving dedication of all of the teachers there! They teach not only superior dance but also grace, poise and elegance and we are so lucky to be part of the Harrison family!
