I was lucky enough to find the Beauty Hair Salon about two months ago. The shop is close to my home, unlike some of the other fine salons in Murfreesboro, many of them are located on Thompson Lane: traffic nightmare, no thanks. Dara, the salon owner was the first person to speak to me over the phone. She treated me like I was family, very warm and genuine. It was nice to have someone care about my beauty needs. Its very rare these days that someone shows you kindness without wanting something in return. All of the stylists project the same unyielding warmth, kindness and concern for their clients’ well-being. A team is only as good as its leader and this team is extremely lucky to be working alongside one of the most talented hair designers I have ever met. My first visit was literally a phone call away. Dara said,“come in today, how about now, if you like.” This was the first extraordinary gift in the wellspring of her gifts. We should always call to make an appointment, it’s the right way to treat your stylist. However, I never have time for appointments and find that being able to call and come right in works best for me. Dara’s rule of thumb is to accommodate clients and she has never failed my crazy timeline. My first visit was a bit rough around the edges. I watched this beautiful human trying to assist everyone in the shop and doing a great good job. I got a trim and went darker. The shop is great, easy to find and they will accommodate any schedule. My second visit was the same. I called and Dara got me in that day. I went from a brunette to a blond, think Margot Tenenbaum. I love my new blond hair. I went back a week later to get more highlights. Dara is a talented colorist. I never had such good work done without sacrificing the health of my hair. Additionally, while I was waiting under the dryer, and within earshot of Dara and another client. I came to know Dara’s warmth and kind heartedness as I overheard her making arrangement to go visit an ailing client and to do some hair and nails. I recommend the Beauty Hair Salon to anyone wanting to be around talented stylist and beautiful human beings. We are lucky to have this shop in our town. Jennifer

After reading the reviews I was excited about trying out this salon. Unfortunately I had such a horrible experience (I feel like either the staff wrote these reviews or asked their families or friends to write them because I just cant see anyone wanting to go here). The moment I walked in, I honestly felt in my gut that I needed to walk back out but I didnt want to judge a book by its cover nor be rude so I stayed. Bad idea. The entire time I felt rushed, pressured into buying items, and uncomfortable. I showed a picture of what I wanted, excited to change up my look but my stylist pretty much pressured me into not doing it and going "simple." I did not go to a salon to just get a trim and thats pretty much what happened because it was inconvenient for her OR she had no idea what she was doing. I honestly felt prettier going in (Mind you I went on Valentines Day) then after I left. My fiance saw how disappointed I was when I got to his house, that he contacted his barber whose wife was a hairstylist and she fixed me up! She works at Head Trip Studio and her name was Stephanie. This salon is beautiful and she was so welcoming. Stephanie was on her last client and Im sure ready to go home and spend her evening with her man for Valentines Day but she fit me in and cut my hair exactly like the picture I showed her. She also charged me less then half since I had already paid for a haircut at the previous salon (and I tipped, stupid me!) and though it wasnt her fault I was super thankful. I ended tipping her $20 off a $20 cut because she truly made me feel beautiful. I would never go back to Beauty Hair Salon. However if you are looking for a spectacular salon with talented and genuine stylists visit Head Trip Hair Studio and ask for Stephanie!

Purchased a Groupon for an all over color and haircut. I went in with my hair a little past shoulder length with some layers and had some highlights and balayage from my previous haircut 6 months prior. I came in with 3 requests. I wanted my hair to be closer to my natural dark brown color, I wanted it to be one length (not cutting the current layers shorter), and I wanted to be able to put it in a ponytail without having pieces falling out. Came out with none of my requests fulfilled. I have to use 6 bobby pins when I put my hair up, I ended up coming home and re dying my hair myself to the darker brown color I wanted - Dara had dyed it a light brown with a reddish tint and my blonde pieces didnt take the brown and looked grey, and she cut my hair into a long bob so its longer in the front than in the back. Im not sure what I could have done to convey myself more clearly on what I wanted but I definitely left completely un-satisfied. :( Dara was incredibly nice and talkative but it didnt make up for me not getting specifically what I had asked for.

I first came to this salon as a cry for help! The last person that I let cut my hair LITERALLY cut it in the dark. In her kitchen. With the stove light on. Never again. . . So, I decided to find other salons that could help me. My first visit was in 2014 of January, and the first person I spoke to was Dara (I highly recommend her). I told her that I was trying to grow out my hair, but the last hairstylist made my hair so uneven and shorter than my starting point. Dara took great care of me! Now, its 2015 and I decided to pay her another visit. I wanted to have Paramores hair color! I have natural brownish/reddish hair, and I decided to color it lighter brown around November at a different salon. It was a good color, but I got tired of it. (They accused me of lying about my natural hair color. Obviously, you could see the line of demarcation if my hair was colored.) Dara changed me from eek to fleek! I love my red hair! The price was well worth it! If youre in Murfreesboro, or traveling to, I highly recommend Beauty Hair Salon! Love these people!

I gave this place a two star because the overall experience was a mess. Everyone was extremely nice and made me feel like a friend. That was the best part of my experience. I showed a picture of the color red I wanted and it was done twice. The first go around my hair was neon orange. They attempted to fix it and it still ended up to be very bright red on the top and dark on the bottom. I thought when paying 160 for this dye job I would have a more professional look. That didnt happen at all. When Johanna was rinsing my dye out it got all the way down my back and soked my dress. I had red dye all over my face by my eyebrows which I had to ask to use some rubbing alcohol to clean off myself. I def wouldnt have minded how expensive this was If I wouldve gotten what I wanted. But now Im stuck with hair that Ill end up having to fix myself. :( I work in a professional environment and this cherry red hair is not acceptable.
