We contacted Don Kennedy Roofing for a minor roof repair on a 2-story home that would enable us to satisfy a buyer’s requirement to complete the sale of our house. The initial estimate was for several hours of work that would include pulling off shingles, repairing or replacing the boards beneath the shingles, then putting on new shingles. The estimate was for 2 workers, several hours at a cost of roughly 1,000, including a 10% discount we negotiated into the contract. The actual work did not include any work on the boards beneath the shingles and took the 2 men less than 90 minutes. The workers left us a bill for $981 but told us as they would inform the office so we would receive a significant reduction to the bill since the work was far less than originally proposed. The office has since informed us that there will be no reduction and we have to pay the full amount, in effect, several hundred more than the job was worth.

We were taken advantage of by this company. Not being able to get on the roof and inspect our problem ourselves any more, due to our age, we trusted them and were made to sign an elaborate contract and had to agree to a sum of $3,130.00 for a small roof repair on our townhome. They sent out 5 people to do it on two occasions (3 hrs each time) over a span of 4 weeks to replace one sheet of decking, 37sf of shingles, a bit of flashing and replacing a fewsf of siding, for which we even had to provide the paint! My neighbor had the same work done for $500, what is wrong with this picture??? On top of that they would NOT provide us with a warranty or repair the ceiling portion of our garage. After I called them to possibly negotiate the price somewhat he argued with me stating that the computer makes the prices and a contract is a contract. These people have no conscience at all, whatever happened to ethics!?

I will never use another roofer. From the initial bid to final install my experience with Don Kennedy Roofing was incredible. They educated me on my current roof and my options versus trying to sell me on something. Inspected my current roof very carefully showing me photos of its problems. Quoted a very fair price. I arrived late at night on the day they said they would install it. I could not tell if they did it or not because it was so late at night but I noticed my driveway was cleaner than I left it. Next morning I walk out and discover they had installed it. I could not believe there was not one piece of old roof anywhere or any other evidence they had been there other than an awesome new roof and a very clean driveway. I will not hesitate to use them again. Could not be happier.

I could not be happier with the work performed by Don Kennedy Roofing when I needed my gutters replaced. I literally had things growing in my gutters, and on top of that, they were badly bent and in terrible shape. The salesman explained to me exactly what they were going to do when he came out to give me the estimate, and the work was done in a timely manner. They did not leave any mess in my yard. I came home that afternoon, and my house looked so much better!! Now my gutters finally drain properly, and I wont have to worry about leaves clogging them up any more. I am posting some before and after pics so you can see the difference for yourself! I would recommend these guys to anyone, and when I am ready to replace my roof, they will definitely be doing that too!

This company will be the first and last call you make for any type of roofing needs. I have worked with a maintenance company for years and have experienced every type of leak from every type of roof you can imagine. Before we called Don Kennedy, the same leaks would ALWAYS come back. Then we called Don Kennedy. Their response time was a third vs all of our local vendors. This time, the leaks did not come back. All of the tenants that, in the past, had complained...were now complimenting the professionalism and quality of work that Don Kennedy offered them. I would recommend this company to anyone that needs any type of repair. Residential or commercial. Gutter or fascia... They are our first and LAST call. Everytime.

They came out and told us they would give us an estimate in a week(after Christmas) never heard a thing. Then I emailed them asking where my estimate was(about 2 weeks later). Nothing. Another roofing company told us that our roof was too hard for them(DKR) so they just didnt want to do it. If DKR did not want to do our roof then they should let us know. We were very disappointed in their lack of response. No law says you have to do our roof but let us know not leave us hanging. Our new roofer is very attentive and hopefully we can get the job done and leave a glowing review for them!

My chimney is framed in wood and was rotting. I was afraid that it was going to start leaking. Because of the pitch of the roof no one would come out and give me an estimate. Then I remembered that Don Kennedy had originally installed the roof. When I called them they were kind and willing to help me. Damian Roberts was not hesitant about the steepness of my roof and seemed very comfortable. He was kind, knowledgeable, and very helpful in explaining to me my options. I am retired and I appreciate Don Kennedy for the work that they do. I will recommend them to everyone I know.

We have had a terrible experience with Don Kennedy and I would not recommend his company to anyone. I know that there will be some nails left behind after replacing a roof but our yard was covered with nails, trash, cigarette butts, and razor blades. I packaged them up and sent them back to Don...I thought maybe he could use them on his next job. I have spoken with Don and I can honestly say that he cares more about defending his employees than about serving his customer.

The best way to describe Don Kennedy Roofing, is First Class. Recently had them come out and put a roof on my house and everything was done as described and actually surprised me how clean they kept the job site. The estimators are very knowledgeable and there labor guys are curtious and respectful. I would not hesitate to call them again in the future nor hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of any service they provide. Excellent Company!!!!

My experience was the same as Sharons (below). Ross at Don Kennedy Roofing came out and spent over an hour at my house looking at the roof. I was told I would receive an estimate in the next couple of days. Nothing. IMHO, if you dont want to do the roof or it is too difficult or youre too busy, simply say so. Edit: I did receive a quote via email a week or two later. It was by far the highest of the 5 quotes I received (a "we dont want the job" quote).
