My son attended a couple of years ago under the previous director and we never encountered the unfortunate problems described by another reviewer. My daughter has been attending this school since August of 2010 and I do like the changes made by Valerie, Clarinda, and the staff. They now offer the ABC Music & Me program once a week, which my daughter has loved. They have done Christmas programs and other activities that encourage parent involvement and allow the kids to show their excitement about the things they do. They are even doing "class pictures" just like at "big" school. They also periodically send home pictures of my child while she is in class, which we enjoy. My daughter really likes her teachers, Miss Libby and Miss Tina. They are kind and patient and I think they helped make her Pre-K experience a positive one. Overall, our experience with the staff is that they are committed to taking care of the children and trying to make it a positive and fun experience for them too.

I would not recommend this daycare to anybody. At the time we were desperate for a full time daycare and had not other choice. I would quit my job on the spot before I would use this daycare again. we only used it for 4 weeks and then pulled our son out. He was bit on the first day he ws there and the got bitten 7 more times. On the day we pulled him out my husband went to pick him up and discovered a bite mark across his face, very close to his eye. We had several meetings and discussion with the director Lisa Anderson but she did nothing to take care of this problem. We spoke with some other parents who stated that since being in that class (my son was 2 1/2) their child had become much more aggressive and unhappy. Please do not bring your child here. Trust me it will save you the trauma and stress that we went thru, FIND A Different place.......................

I feel for the reviewer who had a bad experience. My children have gone there since they were infants. They are 10 and 8 now. We have been through several different directors, some good some bad. The teachers are wonderful and they have great summer activities for school aged children. I feel bad that the parents had a child be bitten but it is just as bad when your child I the one doing the biting. It is embarrasing when you see those parents of the child yours has bitten. My oldest was a bitter and they are only allowed to punish them with time out. A 1 1/2 to 2 year old does not understand. The teachers worked with my child and we were able to stop this behavior. Overall, great experience.

I feel bad for tinav719, but my experience has been completely different. My son has been here for over 3 years (since he was 8 weeks old), and he LOVES it. The director has changed since 2008, and Valorie (new director) has never been unresponsive to any concerns or questions I have had. The programs are age-appropriate, educational and fun (or else my son wouldnt be excited to tell me everything he did at "school" today). They have lots of special events to involve the parents and showcase the kids. My son adores his teachers and his friends, and looks forward to seeing them every day. I consider myself fortunate to have him enrolled here, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Our son has been at La Petite Academy-Old Hickory for the last two years. He loves it there and we have loved seeing him thrive in this wonderful learning environment. The director, Valorie, has an awesome team of dedicated childcare professionals who really love their job and the kids. Communication with parents is great, as they send updates via an app to your email. Any concerns are heard with compassion and addressed swiftly. We felt that they cared more about meeting our familys needs than other places we checked into. We love that our son spends his days at LPA-OH, where he is learning, making friends, and treated with kindness and patience. -S.Walker

My daughter has been in care of this facility on and off for over 3 years. While I do agree with tinav719 about her experience during Lisa Anderson direction, I have to say Miss Valorie has turned it around completely: as in every daycare, kids get in contact with realities different than their own and sometimes it gets a bit messy, but Miss Valorie,Miss Clarinda and Miss Tina were always very attentive and responsive to concerns. The staff is friendly and really took to heart the care of my child on a personal level. We have been very happy here and we are very sorry our experience is coming to an end. Awesome daycare

My son has been enrolled here since he was about two months old - he is now 9 and in the after school program. He loves it here! He has made some great friends over the years. The preschool and pre-K teachers do a great job getting the kids ready for Kindergarten, both academically and socially. The after school/summer program does a great a job handling kids from K-5th and keeping than all entertained. The staff is super friendly and always responsive to concerns. Highly recommend!

My daughter has attended for almost a year now. She loves going to "school" everyday The teachers are great. She has learned so much since attending and has made wonderful friends. The 2 year teacher even helped with potty training. We could not have done it without her!!! I would recommend to all of my friends with preschool age children.
