My son started at Gingerbread House when he was 11 months old, it was our first daycare experience and needless to say it RUINED daycare for us! He came home filthy everyday, dried snot all over his face and hair, i cant even say if it was his own snot.. we lasted about 4 weeks. He often came home with bruises and scratches specifically the week I put his 2 weeks notice in he came home with a large bruise on his forehead and when I asked about it, they told me I dropped him off with that bruise. No one was in the office when I was leaving that day so I wasnt able to talk to anyone, the next day I called 3 times with no answer. It of course being thanksgiving week i had to wait until Monday to go in and talk to someone. The "director" decided to argue and get offended when I asked for a copy of the tape from that specific day to review myself, her only response was "I will review it and get back with you". So in other words, if youre okay with your child being left alone all day to cry and ignored then this is the place for you! Everyday for a month my son screamed and cried when I left him and worse when I picked him up he would come speed crawling, bawling his eyes out! Obviously that was a bad sign! Not to mention hes been sick with something since he started! He was sent home one day and I was told her had Hand Foot Mouth Disease.. When I took him to the doctor it was actually an allergic reaction to antibiotics he was recently put on for an ear infection. Apparently Hand Foot Mouth had been going around the center for 2 weeks, but no one gave a heads up. A diaper rash he had for a month was ridiculous! Ironically it cleared up the 5 days he stayed at home during Thanksgiving! This place is a joke and the staff is beyond unprofessional, I wouldnt step foot in thst place again if I didnt have to! Currently still waiting for her to review the tape and get back with me, if it ever happens! Please steer clear of Gingerbread House! The price is great, but the care is terrible.

This "childcare" center is horrible!!!!! I wouldnt trust these people with my invisable dog!!!!!!!!!! I worked for this center for less than a week and within that time I saw stuff I should never see someone do to a child. I quit this job for fear that state (DCS) would come in and see this inappropriate behavior and I would get in trouble. After telling them I was quitting I called DCS and informed them of what I saw. Their staff is friendly and sweet when parents or visitors are around but after they leave that all changes! One of the teachers takes children into the closet or bathroom and closes the door behind them and "punishes" the child. There are NO cameras in the classroom. They will not let you tell the parents if the child has acted up that day (personally if my child is acting up I want to know so I can talk to them about it). Accident reports are not filled out! The front office does nothing but sit on their butt all day. DCS says you must have one teacher sitting at the table at all times when a child is eating and they do not follow that guideline either. If your child does not answer a question right they are not served lunch until they answer a question right. "Teachers" stay on their cell phone all day and dont pay attention to children. One teacher picked a child up by one arm and carried the child across the classroom the child cried and the teacher yelled "shut up, youre being a baby". Please do NOT send your child to this place!!!!!!!!!!

Coming from a business stand point, I feel I need to stand up for the center I have been with for many years. In business, everyone knows how hard it can be to make EVERYONE happy: Customers and Employees. Looking through these reviews, majority of these parents left because of horrible pay history or lack there of or they were upset because we have to enforce state regulations such as The Sick Policy. With that being said: I have been an employee at The Gingerbread House for nearly 10 years. I first started out teaching and enjoyed every minute of it. After 6 years of teaching and several training classes later, I was promoted to Director. As an employee here, we strive to provide the best care for the children. We are a Christian based facility. We follow age appropriate lesson plans to prepare the children for Kindergarten. We have monthly themes and focus on letters, numbers, colors, shapes, sight words, sign language, Spanish translation, and much more. We have a great set of teachers who love these children like they are their own. We work hard everyday to keep a clean facility and minimize as many germs as we can. We have a great team here at The Gingerbread House. I have six children of my own and would trust this facility with my children. I would also highly recommend this center to anyone!

My fiancé and I came in to view this facility as a possibility for our two boys. It was around 1:30 and the children there were at nap time til 2:00pm. However, four women were in the office talking. When they saw us there was no warm welcome or smiles or any kind of hospitality. They would not allow us to view the facility at all. And the biggest upset is when the lady who seemed to be in charge of the facility asked us if our youngest boy was a boy or a girl. We found this very odd since he was wearing blue and his outfit had a monkey and a sailboat on it. This obviously displayed her lack of experience, observation and interest! I would not recommend this facility to anyone. Plus with four women in the office, we wondered who was left watching the children. All four women seem to be in their early 20s and it seemed as if they had gotten the job through friends who work there. It seemed to be a very unprofessional atmosphere and they had no interest in enrolling new children. To ADD!! This facility has had at least 5 write ups through the State of Tennessee in 2014 alone. Information is available on the DHS website.

The absolute WORST daycare you could ever choose! The staff isnt properly trained. This place is very unsanitary for children and especially babies. They will not clean high chairs or jumpers after each baby no matter if a different baby spits up they will still put a different baby in that same seat without cleaning it up. They director was notified twice in the same week and nothing was done about it. And if your child gets hurt they will call you an hour after it happened AND the accident report did NOT match what was on camera! I will not ever recommend anyone else to this daycare.
