If I could give this place negative stars, I would. My child attended this center for a few years. We recently left a few months ago and it has taken me some time to write this review because I really liked some of the teachers. But after following up with licensing and hearing my issue was never self reported I thought Id write it here. - not doing self reports when you tell parents you will for incidents that happen with your knowledge is not ok -staff talking about other staff members falling asleep in class during nap time and no one doing anything about it...also not ok! I have witnessed children in the toddler building playing with staplers and playing in the toilet and the teacher being absolutely overwhelmed by the amount of chaos that it goes ignored. She literally greeted me and had a 5 minute conversation with me while this was going on even after I mentioned it right as I walked in To say the least, the owner Laurie is a very rude person. The issue at hand that Im mostly upset about is: One after noon I was sitting in my car finishing up a phone call and witnessed a school bus drop off school age children on the side of the parking lot. They stayed outside for several minutes and were never greeted by anyone. I watched as two boys were horse playing and rough housing by a busy street before walking up to the closed gate. Neither one of the students could reach to open it so they had to climb it a bit to get the door to open, other students followed them. I finally was convinced that no one was coming out so I got out of my car and walked over to open the gate. Another mom was behind me and witnessed this too. As we walked to the front door she spoke up and asked the owner why those children didnt have an adult waiting for them. The owner Steve, who I am guessing was supposed to be the one to greet them, looked confused and mumbled something and walked away as if he was unsure what had happened. I went to pick up my child and then went back to talk to him. He at first apologized and said he was going to do a self report since kids were unattended for several minutes (we are talking at least 10 mins.) At the time, I wasnt convinced he would and figured Id follow up with his wife Laurie. When I spoke to her a few days after, she completely denied the whole thing and called me a liar telling me I was trying to sabotage her center, like everyone else...whatever that meant. I told her I have worked in childcare several years ago and I know the minimum standards and she needs to self report, she changed her tune a bit but quickly walked away and has avoided me ever since. We pulled our child out because he kept coming home with rashes and every time we picked up we had to sign incident report after incident report that our child was hurt but "he didnt cry" so they never knew exactly what happened. Even better, there were at least 3 times where our child had marks and we were never told about, we found out when our child was taking a bath at the end of the day. Our final straw was broken when I heard the assistant director gossiping about another teacher. Real immature and unprofessional. Children should not be subjected to that kind of environment. The only thing we will miss is the large play area and the fresh cooking from the chef but in all honesty... We would much rather take our child to the park and pack him his meals then have to worry about supervision on a daily basis.

Please caveat this review that our child never attended Kids Campus - this review is based purely on our interactions with the new owner (as of March/April 2016). In February 2016, my husband and I visited Kids Campus and added our soon to be born child to the Kids Campus waitlist for a November 2016 spot. In March/April 2016, we began receiving confusing emails from Kids Campus regarding problems with auto-debit and teacher turnover. We learned that Kids Campus was sold to a new owner and the change of ownership was causing issues. In May 2016, we visited Kids Campus again and did not like what we saw. We immediately requested to be removed from the waitlist. One month later, we received an invoice from Kids Campus for a $100 waitlist fee. We immediately contacted them and they admitted that this was an erroneous invoice. Despite these assurances, our bank account was debited $100 on July 1, 2016. I was admittedly upset about this, but after discussions with the front desk at the office, it seemed like it would all be worked out asap. Next thing I know, the new daycare owner is calling and yelling at me. The owner actually threatened to discuss the issue with a lawyer, because I "wasnt being fair" about their error and the fact that I couldnt leave work at 3pm to pick up the refund. Kids Campus ended up mailing us a check with a refund, but only after I hung up the phone and wrote a follow-up email saying I was going to call the bank and say the charge was unauthorized. The whole exchange was pretty disturbing and very unprofessional. In addition, Ill strongly suggest any potential parents check out the States licensing board for daycares: dfps.state.tx.us/Child_C…. Prior to the ownership change, we did not see any violations on the States website for Kids Campus (we thoroughly vetted it). After the ownership change, there are 2 violations marked "high" regarding the supervision of children- one in April 2016 and one in May 2016.

My son has attended Kids Campus for the Summer Camp and it was amazing! My son would not ever want to come home. He really enjoyed it. All the amazing field trips they went on. They went to the Capital and he learned so much. Now he is in the after school program and it is amazing. He gets dropped off by the school bus and is excited to be back at kids campus. This is so helpful to me as a parent because I never have to worry about him staying home alone or how am I going to get him when I work full time. And the fact that they help him with his home work and he has extra time to play outside. Such a great thing for me cause it gives me a chance to spend family time with him instead of doing homework. I have to say that I wanted to post this comment because I recently referred a friend and she told me about the reviews on google. I was surprised and wanted to make sure that it is known that I am a CURRENT parent at the school. And I have no problems with Kids Camps. The owners have always been really nice and the Assistant Director has always been very friendly as well. Even when my son has not been on his best behavior the teacher and office staff talk to me and him and we always come to an understanding. They are amazing to work with!

THE BEST CHANGE WE DID --- We have been bringing our son here for 1 month now and we just love it. Our son is now 10 months old and is in the caterpillar room. Ms. Claudia and Ms. Megan are wonderful. They understand how how it is when the parent leaves and the child cries, but they know how to handle it. They are understanding of his eating habits and help him in anyway possible. When I get to school to pick him up, hes always playing with a teacher, his friends or many toys that are available. They dont raise their voices and always let me know how his day was. It is a great relief to know that when I go to work, that he is safe and in a loving enviroment as if he was at home with us. I want to also thank Debbie Parker for this center so that many kids are able to benefit from the wonderful teachers and aides that she has there to teach our little one. I highly recommend this Learning Center if you are looking. Call them and go to the tour, you will fall in love ... as I did. Thanks to all to make this a wonderful place for the children. -The Williams Family in the Caterpillar Room
