MORE LIKE LIFETIME FILTH I am currently a member at Equinox off Oak Lawn but have recently moved not too far from the Lifetime Dallas Athletic so I decided to check it out – never again. I went early one morning and was sold on all of the amenities they offer, eucalyptus towels (which they have at Equinox), bathroom products etc…. After the tour – I wasn’t impressed but decided to stay and workout after I went through the sales pitch and here is what I saw. - Bugs! Tiny little things all over the shower. I looked them up and they are called “drain flies” – I also took a video as this was the main reason I am writing this review. They were in every shower I went to – I ended up going home to shower. - The eucalyptus towels - which was so predominately mentioned during the sales pitch as an amenity they offer just like Equinox - were nowhere to be found – I saw two empty fridges before I found one fridge that had about 6 towels over by the cardio equipment. - TVs on treadmills didn’t work (I tried 4 different machines) 3 didn’t work and 1 only had a couple of channels which didn’t flicker. For the price - nothing in this gym feels luxurious. The locker rooms look outdated - bathroom stalls smelled of urine, the whirlpool had a ring around the edge which looked like it had been there for weeks and the light canisters in the ceiling are rusted and look as though they could fall out at any moment. My overall review – Equinox is worth the price tag – this place is definitely not

i wanted to update my review. new issue cancellation policy. if you cancel one day after first of month they not only charge you for that month they charge you for the next month as well. even though i cancelled my membership in early jan i still had to pay through February. What a ridiculous policy and another good reason not to join and quit this gym. the reason i quit in january is that they keep increasing monthly dues...now at 135/mo. the machines are dated, lockers hard to come by, no substantial updates in many years. there are too many other gyms in area at fraction of cost that do not have all these issues. i have tried to justify staying but there is zero reason to stay previous review. i had mentioned before that i could not put membership on hold until 30 days out on travel so if you called and needed it done fast you could not do it. the original girl i spoke with told me me it would not happen for 2 months because it was after first. so i called the new GM: Andy and he called me back within few hours and took care of issue even though system would not allow it. so if you have any issues be sure to get Andy involved....very nice and courteous. it helped that i had been a member off and on for 25 years

I was a member at the Flower Mound location for 3 years until moving to Dallas proper. Although its not nearly as big as the suburb locations. Its a really nice club and super convenient. I tried out the YMCA, but was disappointed. The child care is so much better at lifetime. And the child care is open all day long. Thats a huge plus for me. They provide towels, shampoo, conditioners, shave cream and even razors and qtips if you forgot them. The spas are separated in the locker rooms and were replace this past summer. It also has separate steam room and sauna in the lockers rooms. The café has great smoothies and full meals. The LifeSPA is relaxing; Ive had a massage there. Its convienent the kids can go to the child center while Im there. You have access to the SMU Natatorium as a member which is great, but have kids that I cant check in and go across the freeway to use it. I took off a star for the pool. Id love it to have one on campus.

Umm so yeah most of these reviews are out of date, and or just made by pessamistic people. Sure its not as nice as Equinox, but it is a hell of a lot nicer then any 24h/Golds Ive ever seen. Any of these people think this gym is bad with bad staff try working out at a Golds...or a 24h Fitness (Ive done both). Youll come back, or go to Equinox if you can afford it. When Im at they gym Im focused on what Im doing, I do yoga here once or twice a week and have had zero things to complain about. I was a member at Golds until 2 months ago and this is night and day...soooooooo much nicer and overall a better experience. Basically if youre looking for things to complain about and post on the internet you can find them just about anywhere (restaurants, movie theatres), but when it comes down to it YOUR bad attitude is getting you bad service...you reap what you sow.

Its a pretty nice gym, however canceling my (Frozen) membership has been a pain. They request you either go in person or you can send a signed letter stating that you no longer want to continue your membership. I decided to send a letter and I was told on the phone that it would take up to a month to reflect the changes and that I would be charged again (I accepted these charges) Today, several months later I see that I have continued to receive charges. I called and asked why the charges have been continued- its because the letter I sent was not notarized. I was not told to notarize the letter (I would have gone in, since going to a notary would be more of a pain than just canceling in person). No one called me when they received the letter stating that I wanted to end my membership. It was read and ignored. Thanks lifetime!

Gym design is mediocre, service is worse. After my high pressure sign up I never received the $ I was promised to cover my last month at my previous gym. I decided to cancel my membership some months later and Im still being charged. Nancy (who provides some of the worst customer service Ive ever experienced) tells me unless I can provide documentation to show my cancellation (with McKenzie whos no longer there) then she cant do anything. First call she stuck me on hold and hung up. Second call, different day she refuses to transfer me to anyone who can assist.. Ive tried calling a different Lifetime Fitness but only get voicemails when transferred to manager. WHAT KIND OF OPERSTION ARE YOU GOONS RUNNING? There must be something better...

I had a terrible experience with Lifetime today. I have been a member at a Lifetime club in another state and have had a wonderful experience there. I moved here and reactivated my account. However, the group fitness instructor, Bobbi, was the most rude person I have ever encountered. It was unprofessional and absolutely not acceptable for a staff member to treat a client like dirt. Avoid Bobbi, this club, and take your business elsewhere. Plus, this club is located next to the DART station and there are gang members, homeless people, and illegal immigrants that wander through the parking garage (that is unattended, by the way) and there have been a number of break ins and theft because of this. Stay safe, dont go to Lifetime.
