Update: Tuesday August 1. Thanks for the offer, but too much harm done to give this gym a second chance. Owner reached out to us to offer a two week free membership. I have no way of contacting the owner, but my response is this. Thanks for reaching out via Google, but I honestly feel a phone call would be more appropriate for the occasion. I appreciate the offer for a two week trial membership, but it was one of the two people mentioned that made my wife leave your gym in tears. My wife has since found a small fitness center in Forney that made her feel welcome, and supports her fitness goals. I want to make sure anyone in Forney that is thinking of joining Impact Fitness are aware of how she was treated. I also find it sad that it takes someone to post a public negative review about a company before they will respond. I spoke with the manager this morning, but did not give her any information as to who I was. She told me I could get a 7 day trial membership as long as I came in for 7 straight days. That just re enforces the fact my wife did not fit the correct profile for Impact was looking for. Terrible Experience!!!! This gym was recommended to my wife and I by several friends. 1. We went into the gym to gather information on pricing and such. The gym looked nice enough, and the salesman was friendly. He went over the pricing with us, and informed us that the child care would be 17 dollars extra a month for the membership.. We mentioned to him that all our friends that are members pay 0 extra for the child care. His response was that it is a new policy and we would have to pay it. One of our friends had just joined the day before, and was not charged this fee. We left the gym to go home and discuss the pricing and such. 2. My wife returned to the Impact two days later to start the 7 day trial that is advertised on their website. My wife was told they could only give her a one day trial. My wife questioned why they would not honor what is on the website. The manager responded there were restrictions on the seven day trial, but she would not give my wife the restrictions. She just kept telling my wife she could work out that day, and was pushing her to sign up. My wife left disappointed, as she wanted to try out the Zumba class for a week to make sure she would enjoy it. My wife contacted her friends, and once again they were all given 7 day trials. 3. I contacted Impact Fitness today to discuss the free seven day trial, and they told me the only restriction was, you have to come 7 straight days. I asked the manager at that point why my wife was told she could only have a 1 day pass. The managers response was that she misunderstood and thought my wife already had a pass (Way to back peddle.). This just drives in the point that the manager is looking for specific clients to come to their gym. The manager also became agitated with me when I told her my wife was treated like a second class citizen. My take away from this gym is they only want to have members that are in shape and "good looking" , to attract new members. My wife went to another fitness center in Forney where she was treated like a human being, and not a dollar sign. She is very happy with her choice to attend a different fitness organization.

Impact Fitness Friday March,11,2016 (Formally GOLDS GYM) (Same Owner ,mainly same staff attitude ) I do have to admit, my initial impression ( that this gym changed its name as an attempts to separate it self from the image / reputation that golds gym is so infamous for of deceitful practice.) (Former employee) long story short , i was very disappointed as a first impression, i walk in, the gym looks the same , two(male, female) of three staff members are not exactly customer focused to say the least, no greeting or smile. i asked for assistance, the young lady prompted and directed me to fill a form on a tablet device, which was extremely Non-user-Friendly ( Not Easy to use) after waiting nearly 10 mins , A FITNESS COUNSELOR (Glorified Sales Associate) vaguely introduces him self and i introduce my self same , starts to go threw his Sales steps, I MEANT TOUR ! quick walk threw, asking some set up questions ..sorry i meant asking about my health and what are my goals and how serious i am about achieving these goals, i barely answer, he starts talking about numbers and the type of commitments and processing fees and application fees ( two separate things apparently , one of which is not listed.......in other words Hidden fees ) i simply ask for the special price they have advertised , in response i get these are the only deals we have . i spoke with a manger afterwards he seamed very nice and customer focused, and willing to honor the price, tells me it will be token care of the leaves to speak to the sales associate , who is pulling Quick One on some other potential customers... I Meant Touring the gym with them. i waited patiently for nearly 15 mins for the sales associate to finish up, thinking i am token care of. (long story short) he come back trying to sale pitch me different deal than what the manager and i discussed , i got up and left i will follow up with the chain of command manager ,even owner if necessary......... i will update review with results ) . UPDATE: MARCH,14,2016 So I spoke with the general manager Blake, I got to say, I really thought things were going to work out and the gym was going to honor its own advertisement, but I was shockingly surprised, especially of the general managers response. He has no control over it and they are promotion codes theres nothing that he could do and that hidden fees are OK and all the other gyms do it. I am beyond disappointed, definitely not going to be a customer, hopefully you wont either, I will be going right across the street to anytime fitness were all their fees are all out in plain sight.

I have heard great things about Impact Fitness Forney, so my husband and I went in for a tour. The salesman, of course, wanted us to sign up right then. (I get it, thats his job.) We decided to go home and look at our budget (since my husband is already apart of another fitness program and would just join so he could help me) and the guy said he would call us the next day. He never did. The salesman also never mentioned being able to try it out for free. After the no call, I visited the website for the prices again. I saw that you could try them out for free for 7 days. So, a week later I got up enough courage to try it out by myself. I walk in and ask for the trial as advertised. The saleslady and the manager said that I would only be allowed 1 day free as they were in the process of changing the policy or I could sign up then. I showed them the IMPACT FITNESS FORNEY website and were it said 7 days free trial. If it is advertised, it should be honored. The manager said there were some restrictions, but again I could work out today and then decide if I wanted to join. As I mentioned to the saleslady, I really wanted to try out the weeknight Zumba classes. How am I going to try them out if today is Saturday? I asked for my license back and walked out the door. The manager gladly gave it back, with a smile on her face, and so I left. No work out. Emotional. Obviously with a big Loser L stamped on my forehead.
