I have been going to this Fantastic Sams exclusively for the past eight years, and in that time I have only had my hair worked on by Deanna (the manager). She has worked absolute miracles on my hair. One the defining hair cuts during my professional was a relaxation treatment. Deann spent five hours working a chemical through my hair (that she was allergic to). She was kinda and courteous to me throughout the whole ordeal, and I was left with hair that looked liked that of a movie star. The real kicker: since the hair was relaxed into place, it stayed that way until it eventually grew out. Whether I was getting out of bed, getting out of a pool, or stepping inside after hurricane force winds, my hair fell PERFECTLY into place. This hair style lasted for a solid eight months before I did something else with it. Since I have first seen her, Deann has taken me outside my comfort zone on many of occasions, and I have been delighted every time. I have taken many individuals with me to have their hair cut by Deann, and they have been absolutely delighted. I am about to move to College Station, but I will be driving down to Galveston every-time I need my hair cut (my mother also lives down there, so win-win). I believe Everyone has their own hair stylist that is perfect for them. I encourage everyone to try at least one hair cut by Deann, she really is THAT good TLDR; Absolutely wonderful. I am Jewish, so I can complain a lot. I really have no complaints from any experience with Deann (the manager) in all eight year I have seen her. Give it a try, and if you dont like it I will be impressed.

OK...so I a once again subjected myself to rude staff at the Galveston Fantastic Sams...I have a very hectic work schedule and usually a walk-in salon is all I can get most the time. Last visit I was told by Deanne that my hair was "stringy", that is not what a customer wants to hear...then she convinced me to touch up my roots and told me it would be about $75 and ended being $140, honestly it didnt look any different from what I do out of a $10 box. So..I told myself I will not subject myself to the harsh criticism again, but this weekend I needed a cut and again, I told a different hairdresser my hair was pretty healthy (I have very fine thin hair) for me and she states "Honey, your hair is not healthy!!" so loud everyone turned around...I will never use them again!! It is sad that I do not go to get my hair cut b/c I get berated by the staff everytime I go there...Very disrepectful to their customers...and I do not recommend.

I regret going here. the hair dresser that cuts my hair is unprofessional and she doesnt know how to treat a customer. She started by shampooing my hair with water splattering all over my face. Then she cuts my hair in a hurry with a blade used for layering hair without even asking how short I want it cut. She seems like just doing her job, and not doing it well!!!!!! She messed up my fine straight hair. Its now very thin...as in THIN!!!! I showed her a picture of the haircut that I want and what she have done is way far from it. The picture doesnt show the back part of the haircut, and I dont know why did she assumed that this is what I want...!!!! She should have asked me first. She recklessly cut my hair. Dont go here! This is the WORST salon Ive been to. They need to train their hair dressers.

I just went to Fantastic Sams today. It was just fine, particularly for the price - a bit busy, but thats a good sign for any place, that a lot of people want what they have to offer, isnt it? OK, were not talking "high-end salon" here, folks, wasnt flashy, didnt offer free beer or something, but thats absolutely fine. They were competent and to-the-point; pleasantly chatty but not intrusive. She asked me what I wanted, I described it as well as I could, and she complied with efficiency. Unless my hair starts falling out from some unknown reason related to what she did, Ill go back again. I just wanted a competent cut, and I got it. Thanks!

The manager at this place is loud and rude. They must meet quotas for selling products thats why they tell everyone their hair is bad. I had the same experience that everyone else has had there. So glad my hair stylist left this place. I never have to go there again. Think hard before you enter there doors. Salon owner you must consider replacing you manager. She is very bad for your business. I had an issue w/ my color one time and my stylist agreed w/ me. She stood over us trying to tell us there was nothing wrong w/ the color. It didnt cover my gray.

I have gone to Fantastic Sams for MANY years at this location, including my whole family, all 8 of us. If it is their jobs to sell products.....well.....know that and either buy the products or dont. Id rather see them push making money off of the products than raise their rates! They have the best deal in town, usually. Megan is the hairstylist I prefer. I think she is a miracle worker. I have never had my hair cut by Deann, but cudos to Deann for hiring Megan. I will continue going to Fantastic Sams!

Just spoke with manager about wanting a part time job and after getting off phone was very upset and disturbed by the tone manager used with me!! Yes I was employed by her well OVER 10 years ago and YES people change!! I have owned my own salon for the past 8 years and have done hair for 35 years. I have NEVER been talked down to so badly in my entire career!!! Heartbroken!!!!! Management should NEVER talk down to people!!!!!!!!! No wonder you need stylists!!!!! Once again,heartbroken!!!!!!!

Lady named Jasmine or something completely disregarded the suggested picture for my cut, went and made my hair bowl-shaped with a straight and rather odd looking fringe. She was nice, but definitely not experienced in hair styling. Desk lady (manager possibly) was quite curt and not very friendly-looking, but at least did her job. All in all, would NOT recommend unless you want to look like Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber.

Ive had De Ann fix a botched job from a previous stylist and it came out perfect. She listened to everything I wanted, and all my concerns about my damaged hair due to coloring it for so long. She offered me some products that would be helpful, but was never pushy. I loved what did and would be happy to go back to her.

Good luck with this location...as its sort of like gambling. There are some excellent stylists with great customer service (such as Kelli & La Dell), but there are others that just lack in skill and De Ann who completely lacks in customer service skills.

showed the lady a pic of how I wanted my little girls hair, which she completely ignored and gave her terrible bangs. at least they will grown out eventually. worth it to spend a little more and go somewhere else

I discovered Monica at least 3 years, I couldnt be more pleased! Shes took me through some pretty dramatic hair changes and I have LOVED every single one of them. She keeps me hip, wouldnt have it any other way!
