A few months ago, I was shopping for a new day care for my son who was turning 14 months old. He had gone to another day care in a better neighborhood nearby for several months. But we had to move him because he got sick too often inside that place. This place, from the outside, doesnt look like much, and the sign still says "Time for Care" even though it was "5 Stars Kids Academy" when my son started. A few days ago, I was just told that there was a recent ownership change, and the new sign with the right name "Kids R Us Academy" would go up soon. This place is on Richmond Avenue in the neighborhood just east of the Westchase District. The shopping center could be better groomed and maintained, but its not so bad since there are many busy restaurants there. Anyway, my wife and I chose this day care because the fact is my baby stays inside the secured door of the building and not on the outside. The inside of this place is bigger, cleaner, and better maintained than other places Id taken the tour. From the outside, I didnt expect to see such a big open space before I stepped my foot inside the front door. You could tell the difference immediately from the smell of the place that this place is cleaner. The director and staff are knowledgeable and seem to really care about my kid. I could tell because when I pick him up at the end of the day, my kids diaper would always be dry. They would tell me about his day and, in addition, they give me a daily report that tells me about what kind of food has been given to my kid and when and how many times the diapers were changed and when he took a nap. That makes it a little bit easier for me for how I should take care of him after we get home. The best thing for my kid is that ever since he’s moved here, he doesn’t get sick nearly as often. In fact, he hasn’t had a temperature or diarrhea. And the frequent diaper rash that he used to have every other week when he was at his previous day care has become a rare thing (diaper rash is just hard to avoid if my kid has diarrhea). Stuff like that is actually life changing when you’re a working parent. Enough nice features for my kid, the nicest thing for me, the parent, about this place is that they will work with me when sometimes I’m behind on payments as long as I do my best to catch up and pay off the balance. We’ve established a good relationship and now they know I’m good for it. Bottom line is its been really good so far with this place both for my kid and me and my wife, and I would highly recommend it.

My kids do not attend this day care. The scary situation happened on the road. I was at a stop sign in a school zone. I properly stopped at the stop sign. As I was going on to the road (still in a school zone) I was turning slowly to the far left lane and she passed the stop sign accelerating quickly. So quick she hit her breaks and honked at me, I hadnt even gotten in my lane yet. She was behind me. Swerved around me accelerating more than the speed limit honking her horn. At the stop light I was behind her. I stuck my phone out to take a picture of the vehicle and she stepped out of the van yelling at me. I called the school. Talked to the director. She only said she was going to talk to the driver. Thats it...I dont appreciate my kids being put in danger or other peoples children. Will the parents even be notified of the situation???

My son has been going here since he was 6 weeks old and he is now 2 going on 3 years old and he loves the place as well as I do. This daycare is one of the most caring and helpful places I have ever seen in my lifetime. Now this is the only daycare I have had him in besides before the new owners when their were two locations but the other location was not pleasing to the eye of staff, cleaniness, and caring for the children correctly. But that is old news because the new owner is great and friendly as well as caring, helpful, and understanding. Everytime I go pick up my son the owner is there as well and they never ignore you unless they are super busy but even then they still acknowledge you coming thru the door and leaving...I love this place and I pray I never have to leave it until he is older

Bad,bad place. Please do not take your kids to this day-care. The owner is rude and constantly yelling at the kids complaining all the time over simple things that any normal child will do. She didnt fill report when my son got injured and she try to act like nothing happen. When I asked her what happened to him she quickly got aggressive and defensive and tried to give any reason that the incident could happen outside her day-care.the staff are with her they cover up for each other. I am about to finish my finals at college and take my son out of there.and I will never put him in any daycare again.I will switch to on-line and night classes so my son will be safe and Happy. Please anyone who is considering this daycare think million times about your little one.

My 4 years old son just told me that he got slapped by the teacher they fed my 4 months old son only once within 8 hrs and they did lie when I asked them if he eats ok ,I actually figure it out that he did have only one milk bottle a day by seeing his all clean ,untouched bottle in his bag pack but only one dirty bottle. day care smells bad all the time ,please find other places before u decide to have your kids there I actually cant wait for this week to finish and I will stop taking my kids
