I found Jared on Craigslist last year when we were remodeling a 1955 ranch-style house in Spring Valley. I must say that I was impressed with everything he did, starting from the first time he came by to bid. My goal was to get three bids on everything. I already had two bids for carpentry. A couple of guys gave us lowball offers, but to be fair, at that point we didnt really know what we wanted. We knew we wanted some built-ins in the living room and cabinets for our bathrooms and bedrooms, we had no idea what to do or what to ask for. Jared brought a laptop with lots of pictures of his completed jobs. He walked through the house with my wife and I, asking us what we wanted, allthewhile taking notes. He gave us great ideas on what to build & how it might look / function. So two days later, my wife and I got his bid - it was itemized by project and costs! - completely different from the other carpenters who just gave vague ideas on costs, materials, timeframe. But Jared is not like any contractor we had ever encountered. Day 1, he was there on time, on the day he said he would start, with his crew directing, demolishing, making sure things were done right. It seemed that with other our contractors, I had to be there directing & telling them how we wanted things done - not with Jared. For phase 1 of our remodel, Jared & his crews made 20-ft. of entertainment center / cabinets in our living room, built window sills for the 30 windows in the house, and added built-in cabinets, vanities & shelves in the bathrooms (they look amazing - some cabinets have the bubbled glass with lights inside, we would have had no idea that we could or how to achieve this without Jared). Jared redesigned our closets in each bedroom, making much better use of the space, and designed & crafted built-in drawers between the closets in the master. This phase 1 was the initial work we agreed on, and my wife and I were totally impressed. Not only did Jared & his crews get the work done in 4 days, but they were right-on with the cost. Heres what sealed the deal for me that Jared is the best in Houston - we initially bought 3 pieces too many of birch plywood - and HE BOUGHT THEM BACK FROM ME at I think $75 each. Every other contractor who had worked on our house - the plumber, electrician, the roofers, and the a/c guys - all of them either stole leftover materials or my tools, but I NEVER had to worry about this with Jared. Hes a class-act from start to finish. Im not too sure if he does this with every client, but just about every night Jared would email me a quick updates (with pictures) on what he did that day, ask my opinion on design / options, as well as bring up stuff he noticed would be a good idea. The emails were a huge help as I work full time & my wife had our infant daughter all day at our rent house. So in phase 2 we had them reface the 40+ cabinets & 20 drawers in the kitchen. Jared also had his tile guy fix up the tile in our kitchen, a very small job, but since our tile guy walked off on the job, Jareds came thru big-time and had his guy do a great patch job. We chose one paint of the companies he recommended, they did a great job painting the whole house for a great price. Jared even directed the paint guys as to what needed to be done. He also recommended a great blinds company who did 30 windows for less than $2k, and they finished in one week. I cannot say enough good things about Jared and how my house now looks. The main reason why our remodel is now a success is because Jareds bid was more of a consultation + bid. That and the fact that he was always on time, on budget and that he genuinely cares about getting the work done correctly and beautifully. I probably asked Jared 50+ questions on how to do things, where to buy this and that, and he was always helpful and accurate. My wife and I recommend him to all our friends in Houston and neighbors. If youre remodeling, you will be doing yourself, your sanity and your home a great service to call these guys.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Since Jared would not pick up the phone to have a 10 minute conversation with me regarding my cabinet project I was forced to only communicate with him through email where I received condescending and arrogant responses to my questions. I asked several questions regarding my project and continued to get the run around. I asked if we could speak on the phone as I would be able to get my point across much better and he "didnt see what there was to discuss." After saying I would take my business elsewhere due to his attitude/tone he replied by saying my questions were "circular and repetitive" and that hes "100% okay" with not getting my business. I did not appreciate being disrespected and belittled and would not recommend him to anyone.

I also found Jared on Craigs list. Jared and his crew came to my rescue and cut and installed all of my trim and molding for my kitchen installation. It was not a big job but he was nice enough to take care of it because I asked him. He even had his guys adjust all of my cabinet doors and make some other adjustments without being asked. The quality of work was great. Really liked dealing with him. Next job I will definitely give them a call.

This guy is an idiot. He advertises real cheap cabinets on craigslist and then when you email him he gives you attitude and tries to custom build a cabinet for an arm and a leg.
