We just laid my mother to rest on 2/19/14. Her rosary/wake was on Wed. 2/18/14. First of all, the DVD would not operate properly: some of the pictures from the DVD we gave them to play were either green or there was a question mark on some of the pictures & the pictures could not be seen/viewed. My wife prepared the DVD & she is a professional photographer & she would never put out anything like that!! The funeral director/Melissa McKaskill was not only very rude but, she said that there was nothing they could do about it. I even offered them a laptop on which the pictures looked fine & I also offered to go buy an HDMI cable to plug it in directly into their TV screen. Melissa McKaskill said that could not be done & no one was allowed to touch their equipment, Another thing, I had to personally translate my moms prayer cards myself to Spanish because Melissa McKaskill said they didnt have "any" prayer cards in Spanish. I wound up doing their job for them. We paid them for that service & they did not comply with our requests. Also, during the rosary we heard a small child siniging "Happy Birthday" through their PA system when we were praying. Needless to say, it was very embarrasing & shocking. I would not recommend this funeral home to anybody!! I would never want this to happen to any one of you when one of your loved ones passes away. I would not recommend this funeral home to anybody at all!! Ever!!!

Over the past 20 years my family has used this funeral home and cemetary 5 times and have vested about 60k in family funeral services, plots and grave markers. In the past, this funeral home has been wonderful with helping us through such tough times... However, I believe in recent years the customer service and care provided to insure our loved ones are cared for has failed miserably. After a year, I am still waiting for the cemetary to remove my Mothers grave stone and get it re-engraved. The etching was lousy and incorrect fonts were used for the etching. I have spoke to several associates about this matter and have been made promises to get this fixed. I live out of town, but upon my return to place flowers on my Mothers grave, I found it had not been moved at all. I am still waiting for a return phone call. In addition, my other family plot, it needs some fill dirt and maintenance. I have requested a service order three times now with promises it will be taken care of. In other words, I feel once your loved ones are in the ground, and the money is paid, then you might as well not expect any additional service, but you will get sympathetic rhetoric.

We laid my mom to rest this week and couldnt have asked for better service and respect. Chalet and others treated us so well and were so patient. From the time I called and spoke with Tyler to leaving after the burial, it was much easier than I ever thought it could be. Tyler stayed late with my dad to help him with pre-planning the day before my mom died. He didnt have to do that but took personally our concern and need to get things planned. Even the grounds keepers were professional and gentle with us. I felt respected and felt they respected my mom. On another note, check detailed prices with other cemeteries. Forest Park Westheimer is very reasonable and has many options for all price ranges. They were transparent and we had NO surprise charges. We didnt find this with other cemeteries we talked to.

If you want your property of your final resting place to be respected, do not purchase a plot here. Grounds keepers will go out of their way to destroy it. Carelessness and indifference is what you will get. Sad that a place of rest can be cared for so poorly. They are also selective on items removed from plots when they decide to do end of month clean up. Some plots are left alone while others have items removed and thrown in a pile for one to come and pick up. Preferential treatment? Id say so. Update August 2017: pictures speak volumes. "floral rules" are not enforced across the board. Landscape is not done properly. See for yourself.

We are in the process of buying a marker but everytime I ask for the prices for some strange reason the prices are always different. This would make sence if I was asking prices on different types of markers, thing is its always the same marker. I have tried speaking to the general manager, never there. We even made an appointment, when I arrived she was gone. No wonder on BBB they have an F would not recommend this place at all. I should of known from the beginning but when going through a familys members death is really hard and we were just trying to find a nice cemetary.

It was fairly easy to get the service signed and paid but we ran into delays on getting inscriptions done. It has been more than three months of me chasing for the inscription. I am both tired and frustrated that this process does not roll forward unless I am chasing it none stop and it is still has been more than three months since the service. I would not do business straight with them. If you can, find a funeral home elsewhere and do not purchase straight from them so things will move faster.

The funeral home was over $10,000 on their mahogany caskets, so I bought it online for $1900 and it arrived looking better than the funeral homes $10,000 caskets. Buy online.

Both of my parents are buried in the are where married parents can be buried next to each other. The people at this cemetery were very helpful.
