Ive been coming to this salon for a few years now all the way from Spring. My cousin recommended me and had been going for a while and I loved how healthy her hair was. When I started coming, I cut my hair really short and stopped perming my hair & decided to start over and wanted my hair to grow out healthy which it has. This is a Dominican salon so they do Dominican blowouts for the most part. But keep in mind that they also do perms & hair color. There is definitely always a wait for the most part (like most salons) but its worth it. Go in the morning or during the week. I came in during the week at 450 and left around 7 - only 2 hours. There are times Ive been here 4+ hours. But theyve added dryers, more people washing hair etc. and have therefore become more efficient. My hair gets really straight. I havent permed my hair for about 5 years. They encourage you to go natural. Ive always had Juana or Mary do my hair. Even when I moved to Dallas, I would still come here when I came Im town. At one point, I stopped coming for about a year and only did flat irons. You can now tell a difference in my hair as it isnt as healthy but Ive been coming back now to get it back healthy. As people have mentioned, this is owned by a family of Dominican sisters and a few of the stylists are just their friends. Their children are often in the salon. They are big on church and religion. They do talk in Spanish sometimes which may be intimidating or an issue for some. They also have a lot of people that have been coming for a while and come pretty often or are friends of the family so yes, I can understand how people would feel like they have their "favorites".

I am originally from NYC so I know lots about Dominican Salon. I took my daughter to get a wash and set and they told me its starts at 35 and up plus an extra 5 dollars if I wanted regular conditioner or an extra 10 dollars if I wanted deep conditioner (are you serious!!!!) I told the lady I just wanted a blow out since I had already washed my hair, she told me they would have to rewash it and roll it up before they could blow it out, keep in mind it was already nice and bouncy from a fresh wash and roller set. In NYC this would be no problem. I called my mom while at the salon to tell her the rediculous price they wanted to charge for my daughters hair and she agreed that it was ridiculous. One of the stylist overheard me talking and rolled her eyes. Needless to say I left with my daughter and took her home deep conditioned her hair and rolled it myself. Its difficult to find a beauty salon in that part of Houston that cater to black hair but their prices are overboard and uncalled for. They have plenty of business so I dont understand why it is this way. I will be finding some place else.

Ive been going there 2 years never had a problem. All of a sudden Juana becomes money hungry and over charges me. She told me my total price was going to be $50 then charges me $95 in total. Then the person who came for 8 was late. So that put me in up first. However that late appoint finally. Because she was someone from there Spanish culture she puts her in front after she misses her appointment time. She would not have done the same and I spent money with them for 2 years. If you go please be clear of the prices they are money hungry and will play with you on prices especially junana. When I confronted her about this she wanted to play these I didnt tell you games but you suppose to be a woman of God. My sister dealt with Juana for years and told me she was gone do that but I tried to five her the benefit of the doubt. She did exactly what my sister said she would do. Hair wise they are bomb. Customer service wise is poor.

I love this place! My first time there was a great experience. They are not expensive at all and they do a great job. Like any other salon there is a wait but its worth it. I have been going to Dominicans for awhile and I usually have a headache by the time I leave because they burn me wit the iron or blow-dryer......NOT J C Beauty Salon. I cant remember the name of the woman who did my hair but she did not hurt me at all. I cant wait for this Saturday to get my Mothers Day due.......

No point in setting appt as you will be sitting here for 2-3 hours before you even get under the dryer. Very unprofessional and unorganized staff that always talk about their clients in Spanish. Last time I came here, with an appt I might add, I was there for a total of 6 hours!!! WTF! They constantly up their pricing and btw, dont tell them in advance that you have a rewards card as you will not get the best service (like it could get worse). Will not return.

I am Dominican and I am from NY so.. I know an authentic Dominican hair salon when I see one... this is def it. Living in Houstoon without an authentic hair salon has been hard but God has sent me to JC Beauty Salon and I love it! JC stands for Jesus Christ which is so important to me. I absolutely love this salon and they have my business for years to come.

The beauticians are all dedicated to helping you maintain a healthy head of hair. Juana is my beautician, takes her time and gives you good advice on after care. Always a pleasant atmosphere. A prayer first and then business as usual Love it!!! Been going there for years. Recommended it to all my friends and colleagues.

Very rude costumer service. They give attitude for no reason even if youre just asking questions are trying to set an appointment. Will cause heat damage to your hair.
