Do not go here! My first and last time ever. Firstly I called to make an appointment the guy Junior I suppose is his name asked me if I had a weave or braids in prior to getting my hair done. I answered yes then he asked if I have washed and detangled my hair I told him I have detangled but not washed. He told me on the phone to wash my own hair And to detangle because once I come in they wont have time to do it. Number one reason why I shouldnt of went. The next day he calls me and tells me that theres an open availability and I to come in earlier cool so I go in earlier. I believe they close at five but my appointment was for 420. Once I get there I wait no more than five minutes and hes washing my hair. I must say he does wash hair very very well he took his time he was a little rough but he got my hair clean that was a plus. Once the lady starts rolling my hair shes already telling me that my hair may not last because its been a while since Ive blown it out and it wasnt very well trained. I informed her that Im not new to blowouts and my hair has always lasted weeks no matter how long Ive waited to get a blown out. She roller sets my hair and Sits me under the dryer mind you at this time theres no one else there because shes done with the lady that was at before me. I get under the dryer at 5:15 she comes and takes me out from under the dryer around 5:45 Now mind you I have very thick coarse hair so I knew my hair wasnt dry because I know it takes at least an hour and a half of my hair to fully fully be dry and it wasnt so she decided to take me out from under the dryer and blow dry the rest Of it at this point I was already upset because I felt like I was being rushed because I was the last customer but I didnt say a word after she blows drys the rest of my wet hair which I know now wont sit or stay straight because it was still wet she proceeds to straighten And was very rough then tells me I need a trim and asked me if it was OK I said yeah sure she begins to trim my hair then when she straightens that she gives me the most ugly under curl ever know I usually go to JCs beauty salon but I was so tired to even drive over there early on Saturday morning after for this place that the place I usually go to offers a style that you want this lady and I dont know her name didnt even ask me what kind of style I want to she just assumed.. Once I get home I instantly try to wrap my hair and I cant. You know why I cant because she got scissor happy and completely chopped my hair in different lengths and angles when she said she wanted to trim it. This was not a trim when I look like my hair completely look like someone just took scissors to it and cut different parts of it to make it look even I was furious my hair is so much shorter and so choppy I wanted to cry Ive never had my hair look like this before . Decided to step out that same night and instantly when I went outside not within 5 to 10 minutes my hair was puffy and frizzy then I just broke down completely because first of all they charge me $78 for me to get a blowout never been charged That but I paid it because I was desperate and Needed for my hair to be done now the next day Im walking around with an Afro that I paid $78 to have so yes I will never visit this place ever again I was unfaithful to my normal place JCs beauty salon and I truly apologize and I will be going up there to get my hair rejuvenated and back to the way I know it can lead to not visit this do not visit this place this was the worst experience Ive ever had on the blowout and Im so mad I wasted my money I was rushed my hair was choped and it frizzy within three hours if youre loyal customer thats fine continue to be but I asked for new people who have never tried this place I do not suggest you go here.

This place had the worst customer service. The lady that did my hair was trying to make excuses why she couldnt do it. She said it would tangle if she wash it and she dont have time to comb it out. I told her I dont have that type of hair and just try it if it does I will leave. She finally listened to me and of course my hair didnt tangle. Then she spoke Spanish the entire time to the guy that worked there. They basically was talking about me the whole time I made it clear before I left that she knew I know Spanish and I understood everything she was saying! Also she asked me if I was going to keep going natural because if I was she wasnt going to be able to do my hair because its so curly and its too much work! Like are you serious if I get a perm then I wouldnt have to pay you $80 to blow out my hair! This was absolutely the worst experience ever and I suggest no one goes there !

My name is ashley this is my husband profile lol but I must say I went to NY Dominican shop And she was rude and spoke Spanish to the guy she had working there to insult me... Little did she know I speak Spanish!! He told me there was a appt available, so I made the appointment went up there only to be turned away with attitude! STAY AWAY!!! Im glad I found MARINAS DOMINICAN SALON!!! EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND VERY PLEASANT! The shop is spacious and not crowded.. The location is superb as well and easy to find! This is a REAL CLIENT btw the way.. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MY BLOW OUT WERE FANTASTIC!!!! I will be back!!!

This was my first experience with a Dominican Salon and/or Stylist and I must say I was very impressed. They were friendly, knowledgeable and most of all efficient. The shop was clean, cool and quiet. I have thick, curly long hair and they tackled it with no hesitation. My hair is now soft and light...just as straight as the days of my relaxer with much more body. Let me not forget that I was in and out in record time. I have been in Houston for five years and I think I just found my salon;-) Thanks again NY Dominican Beauty Salon for an awesome job!!!

The customer service is amazing. The moment you walk in the salon youre waited on. Jrs hands should be patented. He gives such a fabulous experience washing your hair, you want to take him home. Then theres his beautiful wife Lisa. Ive seen her straighten some kinky hair and make it look like silk. When you walk out of the door its a lil bit taller than you walked in. Hair bouncing, looking gorgeous dont take my word try it yourself.
