I wanted to love this gym. Its clean, offers great classes, and has plenty of machines. I purchased a membership and paid for the full year upfront. They offered me a free personal training session and I scheduled a time. I arrived on time and waited 20 minutes. I went to the desk to make sure I had the correct time (I did). The front desk did not know where the trainer was. I have children at home and limited time to work out so I didnt want to waste any more of my time sitting around...so I told her to cancel it and let her manager know. She did not know where he was. Apparently the trainer who did not show IS one of the managers...I am disappointed because I was actually interested in purchasing some personal training sessions to help me lose the baby weight. I was really looking forward to it. Ill keep my membership for the year (since Im sure its nearly impossible to cancel) but they certainly wont be up-selling any sessions to me now. I didnt expect to be stood up like that, especially after I paid upfront. Id expect to be offered additional free sessions or a discount/partial refund for what happened today, but I will not hold my breath.

Extremely rude. One of their staff (GM - Travis??) literally told me that they would like me to pay higher monthly rate. Before I signed up my membership (lower initiate fee and higher monthly rate), they said I could switch to a different membership (higher initiate fee and lower monthly rate) ANYTIME as long as I pay the difference of the initiate fees. So I tried the lower initial fee option first because I wasnt sure the gym would fit my needs. I loved their group classes. After 3 weeks later, I knew that I would keep going there and decided to switch my membership. Now, they are saying I cant do that. I have to cancel current one and re-sign up (paying completely new initiate fee and first month and last months deposit again). Ive been going there for only 3 weeks! So I explained what I heard when I signed up. However, the guy who signed me up has left and basically nobody is going to keep the promise. GM even didnt care. I still cant believe he is GM. Whats even funny is that you cant cancel membership during weekend. You know what? You can sign up all 7 days.

Equipment that they have is high quality and well maintained. Definitely geared towards cardio with limited machines to target back and shoulder muscles (e.g. only one cable row machine). As with most chain gyms, much of their staff is amateur and depending on who you talk to, you will get conflicting information. Gym rules and membership rules are often misrepresented to try to make sales or because the employee simply doesnt know what theyre talking about. Ive had pleasent conversations and unpleasant conversations with employees in various positions there. I set my expectations low in terms of management of these types of places. At the end of the day, weights are weights and you can work with what they have. Just dont ask for any favors or expect any kind of great customer service here and youll be fine.

Would not even allow me to try gym for the day, without paying $380 upfront or $280. Or said I could pay $15 for the day. Completely trying to sale you a car before you even drive it. Very rude and I would think that with it being a new gym that they need new customers. The manager was so rude and aggressive I would pass, based on his aggressive personality alone. Apparently they are doing exceptional business and need the gym to themselves, they dont need your business. I dont pay rude people... FYI.. Whoever, hired him... May notice a decline in business! Awful place they are just a bunch of low life scammers. Reason behind it is that I was moving a couple hours away to a place where there isnt a la fitness so I had to cancel my membership. Went up to the gym before moving they said they would take care of it right away. Never got a confermation email that day. So went up there next day they said they would do it the next day never did. All they did was charge me for 2 more months and they wont let me cancel it over the phone. So I had to drive all the way back there to cancel it

Good equipment, generally clean. My only gripe was the fact that they kept trying to reel me in to sell me a training session(s) package for a year or so. I dont want to be harassed while Im about to work out. While sitting down with a couple guys they tried desperately to get me to sign the dotted line to basically hand over like 2400-2600/year for training sessions. I said no and tried walking away but the guys kept coming after me. I felt like I was being chased by some mad car salesmen.

Still waiting on the sauna they said they were going to put in when I joined. Also, theyre missing some machines. Other than that, its a great facility. If they finish the facility out with a sauna and the other amenities they promised when I signed up then I will update my review to 5 stars. Update: After being a member for over 6 months Ive been told they are not going to put in a sauna. Also, the cleanliness and upkeep of the machines and facilities is dwindling.

Solid gym. Only downside for me is the lack of a sauna. Other than that, it has everything that I need. Plenty of cardio equipment, free weights, and a few squat racks and benches. After you visit a few times, you will have a better idea of the flow of traffic and the availability of equipment.

Gym clean, equipment well maintained and usually put where its supposed to go (free weights area and mats area) Not a fan of the kids area, very small, inattentive staff who arent responsive. AC works, way cooler inside temperature wise than the other McKinney location.

No sauna. No water fountain in the mens locker room. The cardio area is in the middle of all the weights and ab area, making it a challenge to have a seamless workout. All the equipment is brand new! I prefer the other McKinney location for practice reasons.

New gym, but the worst staff, especially general manager. One of staff told me that I would have the deal, but he quit and GM told me that he cannot match the deal staff promised me. They always change their promise and charge more

Smaller facility overall and feels a bit congested at times. Staff at front desk is always friendly. I dont agree with LA Fitness business practices in general, but this particular facility is well maintained and friendly.

Casey was a great help in getting the family setup. No high pressure like many gyms where its just about numbers. Met several of the staff members and they were all extremely friendly. Come check out this new location.

Nice and clean new location. Not a fan of the strength equipment being split by cardio. Also they like to wipe down the guide rails so they are almost never greased up.
