This gym has a BBB Rating of "F" For a good reason and I encourage you to look at reviews for all the TFF gyms to get a good understanding of their brand. You see, Im a simple dude with simple needs. When it comes to the gym I need nothing, Just scan me in and I will go run.Texas family fitness is NOT GOOD AT Providing a decent atmosphere with acceptable staff, nobody there looks like they give a damn about their jobs, and I think the turnover rate proves that. Whats more, they let the trainers run operations and a lot of them are rude, aggressive, or dismissive. Today, I had an unpleasant experience with whatever manager on duty and that was my tipping point. If I displayed the level of professionalism that they show each member, I would be fired. Straight up, fired. However, there are some good staff members that do not deserve to be lumped in with the rest. Texas Family Fitness IS NOT GOOD AT charging me for my membership. Despite updating my CC information DAYS (Confirmed with ABC, their merchant) before my membership dues were actually due, they Charged me a late fee AFTER CHARGING ME FOR MY MEMBERSHIP..... What!? AND WHY THE EVER LOVING CRAP is there an annual fee on a monthly membership!? Texas Family Fitness IS NOT GOOD AT Personal Training. I paid out 2-350 for a couple of personal training sessions, my first trainer who was a good dude got transferred and I wish him the best. The SECOND trainer didnt even bother keeping his appointment with me, but dont worry, they still charged that visit against my training balance. So in short, theyve screwed up literally every part of my gym experience, were really unhelpful about it, and Im taking my business elsewhere.

BEWARE of the simple membership process. I cancelled my membership over a year ago and then I get a collection agency calling my stating I owe for a membership. I did exactly what the gym told me to do. First they told me I had to call somewhere to get my debit off the account so I will not be charge and they will take care of the rest of it. Then the credit card people told me they took care of canceling the membership, but make sure the gym cancels on there end. Then I call the gym and they told me that I had to come in person. I went to the gym in person spoke to someone guessing they calling themselves the manager and he said he would take care of everything. So I walk away feeling like my membership was cancel. Now I know for sure it was cancel because my son went to the gym not knowing I cancel the membership and they would not let him in because they inform him the membership was cancel. So now a year later Im getting charges of $250+ for a membership I never used because they stated it was not cancelled. You think they would have called or gave me a letter stating about my membership. I never recieved anything in the mail until a collection company contacted me. I call the corporate office and they inform me yeap you need to pay and that was it. Please beware of there membership pratices because Im not the first one.

The assistant manager Chase is the most unprofessional person I have ever met. Yesterday, I called in due to being over charged and I was told I had to call another number to get the issue resolved. I requested that the charge remain and maybe just dont charge me for the following month in September to kind of of balance the charges out. Chase informed me that he could not do anything. He was not helpful at all. I then mentioned to Chase that I am headed to the gym to cancel my membership, he went on to say Im not the first and wont be the last. When I requested to speak with the GM Chase went on to tell me that he cant promise me a call back and suggested that I call corporate. I really believe that this Chase guy must be privileged maybe his dad is the owner and the job was pretty much handed to him. There is NO WAY, hes still employed with his DISGUSTING attitude. Good luck with business Texas family Fittness. I would rather spend a little more money and get better service anyday than support a business that hires people like Chase.

This was one of the worst experiences of my life. I had a membership for a few month and then we moved. I called to cancel my membership and was told to send a certified letter which I did. And instead of canceling my membership this crappy gym kept charging my credit card so I reported it to my bank which stopped payment. I then sent another certified letter. Then about a month later I was getting phone calls in the middle of the night from an automated system telling my my account was past due. I then called for a week straight only to get a voicemail system. After a few months and more phone calls from the automated system I had enough and called until I got ahold of someone, whom told me they "never received a phone call or mail to cancel my membership" They proceeded to tell me that I owed $40 for past due on, ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Longstory short I sent ANOTHER certified letter with no money to cancel my account. Do Not Start a Membership they will keep charging you long past your cancellation

THIS Gym and its owners & gm are NOT honest and totally deceptive in designing direct mail pieces that are not true. They claim to offer a $9.99 Membership with a "small" initial fee and when you go in with the ad to sign up they claim and ask for a $100 fee!!! I dont know about you but if YOU Work For A Living like most of the rest of us, $100 IS NOT A SMALL INITIAL FEE!!! It time we all STAND UP and protest the gyms and fitness centers that LIE, CHEAT and STEAL with Deceptive Ads and direct mail pieces!!! SEND THEM A MESSAGE AND DONT GO AND DONT SIGN UP WITH THEM!!! They even totally ignored my message sent to them looking for them to address and fix the issue. They are a bad business and should NOT be rewarded for lying on thier advertising!!! Boycott THIS Gym Family all over the area and state!!! I HAVE FILED AN ADVERETISING & BUSINESS dispute and complaint ON Texas Family Fitness with the BetterBusinessBureau (BBB) just now!!! I was amazed to read the number of negative reviews on Texas Family Fitness. I have been a member of the gym at this location for many years. It started as Express Fitness, then closed down for a while and the location reopened under Just Fitness 4 U which was later bought out by Texas Family Fitness. The management under Texas Family Fitness has been excellent. As with all gyms that I have seen, keeping the equipment maintained and in good working order can be a challenge, but Texas Family Fitness makes a good effort. This gym is designed to serve most mainstream fitness activities with emphasis on treadmills, elliptical machines, weight machines and free weights. Some specialized equipment may not be available. There is no pool or hot tub, no sauna or steam room, no martial arts training area, but if you are looking for a convenient, inexpensive place for aerobic or weight training, then this gym will work for you.
