I recently moved to plano, and was looking for a gym, with a similar atmosphere to my old gym, back on the east coast. I checked out 24 hour fitness, but it was depressing to me. Yes, it was a good value for the money. I knew I shouldnt look at Lifetime Fitness, as the reviews I read, said it was like Disney World for adults, and I knew I would fall in love with it! I was fortunate enough to get a 7-day pass to try out the club. But, what I really lucked out with, was my sales person, Van Skam. He was smooth...he knew all the right things to say, to get me to sign up. For me, this was a huge expense, but something I felt I needed and deserved. I am greatful for his smoothness! When you walk into the foyer, you are greeted by friendly staff, always making you feel important. Theres an onsite full service salon/spa, and a place to eat. This place is spacious. You never feel cramped. Theres three locker rooms. One for: Men, Women, and Family....its like they thought of everything. The locker rooms are spacious, clean, and beautiful. Everything you would expect of a luxury spa, and more. Fresh towels are provided for both the locker room, and the workout area. In the locker room, theres a huge flat screen TV, and leather sofas and chairs. Throughout the lobby, there are places to sit, or watch TV, before or after your workout. The pools are always clean. I lost track of how many pools there are. Youll have to check it out and see. I think theres at least two indoor pools, and then a big outdoor pool, with many sections. Theres lounge chairs outside, for you to just relax, on a nice warm day. For kids, theres an indoor and outdoor slide. Theres two spa hot tubs....again, very spacious. And and outdoor tennis court. Theres a huge gym with basketball, and a rock climbing wall. Theres an activity center. Theres too many things to list! For working out, theres more than enough equipment. Theres something for everyone, and every fitness level. My favorite, are the "Octane" brand equipment, which are new to the gym. Theres a large variety of all sorts of weight/resistence machines. I have come to this gym, at different times of the day, and week, and have never seen there being a problem of not having enough equipment. The equipment is kept super clean. They supply "wipes" to clean the machine after each use. There are folks with all sorts of different fitness levels, from the beginning to the obvious athletes. When I was choosing gyms, group classes were also something important to me. This gym seemed to have more classes available, at more times than most. As part of my membership special, when I joined, I was given several sessions with a personal trainer. If I had the money in my budget, I would definitely pay for more. I was lucky enough to get Eric Bader. Hes not only friendly and super supportive, but he will work you hard!! I cant say enough about my sales person, Van Skam. Its been over 6 months since I joined the gym. He is always there with a smile, when I see him. He goes out of his way to help me, any way he can. When you call, to check out this Gym, ask for him. You wont regret it. Finally, this place is full of life. People seem to be happy here. I think its because of all the light and windows. My only negative, is that with such a high end gym, they are still using an fm radio signal for the TVs. I wish they would have individual TVs, as some of the other gyms do. But, they also have treatmills, where you can connect your ipod to them, and watch video, although Ive never tried it. This is a pricey gym, but its also a gym you will feel good about going to. Worth every penny!

Our family has been a member since 2007 - basically when this facility first opened - or within a year of its opening. It is a nice facility - recently (as of September 2014) renovated with new machines and flooring on the entire gym floor. They provide towels and lockers (with locks) as standard facility attractions. Pools are usually available for use, lains free, but at the key times, somewhat cumbersome to find an open lane. My wife likes the classes - a lot - more so than any other location to the point it is the only reason her membership is staying in place. So for long term members, our rates were somewhat locked at a lower rate. We are currently running $25 lower than current member prices, but this is constantly changing with little to no advanced notification. Lifetime as a business is the bad. Our rates recently went up with notification by email. now, for the most part, I delete all emails from lifetime, as they are typically marketing emails. I happened to miss the delete button and opened the email. This is really a huge problem for me. not that the upcharge of 20 bucks a month is a massive change, it is that this should be a qualifier for me to opt out of membership. They are requiring 30 days writting notice, that I cannot provide via email, to cancel membership; it must be done in person. The big issue is they are not supplying me with the same 30 day advanced notice of a change in their fees/dues. In my opinion, this is a classic bait & switch tactic to pull additional dues out of people. I am okay with the 30 day cancellation policy. I am not okay with the change in terms of the policy and no way to opt out free of their other policies. The bigger issue here is the tone member services uses when you question the way the conduct business. It is frankly unprofessional and shows a serious lack of respect to the members that support the business. I am dropping myself off the membership. My wife will stay only for the classes and only until we find a better option for her. Once they option is found, 7+ years of membership ends with LTF. It is sad that the reason we are leaving is that the lack of respect by the staff (and the membership cost increases, constantly increasing).

Gorgeous big facilities completely ruined by the staff... We normally go to the club in Allen but they dont have my yoga class on Thursdays so we figured we would try this location since its closer to home anyways. I pulled into the parking lot and was amazed at how much bigger and beautiful this location is, walked in the door with a smile on my face to be greeted by a person who may as well have been a robot, he didnt even look up. Walk back to the kids club to drop off my daughter, who usually LOVES going to the gym. Just to be greeted by someone who very obviously doesnt like their job. The teacher watching my baby didnt say hi to me or even bother asking me her name, so I just introduced her and gave very simple instructions, bottle, binkie, bunny rabbit blankie, and she could do the bouncer. Went to yoga and had a great time in the class. The real problem was when I went to pick up my daughter, as soon as I walked into the door I knew she was hysterical. The front desk lady was on the phone and couldnt be bothered to look up from her conversation to scan my card. After a few minutes standing there being completely ignored and able to hear my 5 month old screaming I finally just said "Excuse me thats my daughter sceeaming and I need to go get her." Nothing. I had to flag down another lady to come scan me in. I get back to her and shes sitting in the swing screaming her little head off and her face is literally purple. Theres ONE other baby in the room whos peacefully sleeping in the rocking chair with the teacher who is one her CELLPHONE!!!! I immediately ask why I wasnt paged or something and she lame little reply was we dont like to interrupt yoga classes, I tried giving her the bottle and her binkie but I couldnt get her ti calm down. I asked how long has she been crying and she "wasnt sure like awhile." It was literally all I could do to not strangle the lady. On the way out of the gym with my hands full of carseat diaper bag and yoga mat no one bothered to opush the button to open the door or even made eye contact with me. We WILL NOT be back to this location!
