I hate to even give this school a star. Worst school i have ever had my daughter in. I and a few other parents and grandparents walked into the jr preschool class when the teacher was either yelling or pulling a child by the arm, forcefully sitting them down in a chair and snatching things out of their hands. They left a friends child in wet clothes for over 30 min even after i had mentioned to 2 teachers that she needed to be changed and even went as far as handing them the childs extra clothes(my friends daughter). The food is terrible. So if you dont mind paying all that money to have to pack lunch every day then by all means sign up. My daughter attended the school for 4 months and not once came home saying she learned anything new. At the Montessori she attended for 3 months before this school (when she had just turned 2) she left knowing all her ABCs colors shapes and counted from 1-10 in English and Spanish, she was also 80 percent potty trained. When she started WBLC she went back to going in her pull up because their not consistent with the children that are potty training and the only way they can wear undies is if they are dry in a pull up 10 days in a row. She wouldnt have a single accident all weekend or when she stayed home because she was in undies all day. I dont know about your children but most kids that wear a pull up while potty training feel like the pull up is just like a diaper and will most likely go in it. Now that were back in a Montessori shes completely potty trained (shell be 3 in a week) and shes coming home singing new songs and her coloring in the lines is much better and she has even started writing her name. And shes just so happy to go to school and see her teachers. With that being said if you dont mind paying 40-50 more bucks for a school that is actually nurturing with better meals better education and better staff please save yourself the time and hassle and tour a Montessori or private school. Also before signing up anywhere make sure you search the school on DFPS to see how many reports or inspections the school has had:) I need to add that my 3 year old is now counting to 80.. yupp 80.. Thanks to her new school, and she has only been there 3 months. Please look into a Montessori or private school. Dont waste your money here.

My daughter is on the autism spectrum and I met with the staff SEVERAL times prior to enrolling my child. I did not take this decision lightly I wanted her happy! I followed up multiple times after enrolling her to make sure there werent any issues. Each time I was reassured and daily was sent home a letter about how well she was adjusting and enjoying it. Well, it was lies! I noticed a change in my non-verbal child at the time I would drop her off at Beaty Early Childhood center. She previously enjoyed very much hopping out of the car and going into school but she began to have a meltdown at drop off. Visibly upset! I couldnt figure it out. Well, shortly after that there was some suspicious things that I didnt put together till hindsight. I came to pick her up one day and they had her separated from the other kids, she came home with her dress torn, she wasnt her happy self. Well, the school finally, after many weeks of pacifying me saying she was doing great, told me I had two weeks to remove her from the school. That she wasnt accepting discipline or able to adjust. Are you kidding me? They made no reasonable accommodations for a special needs child and never informed me of any issues. The teachers seemed to be paid at best minimum wage some to which barely spoke English. I am not saying its a bad establishment, but they are certainly are discriminating against children with special needs. I asked if they had any records or if I could view the tapes and they got very uneasy. Just very strange to me. But on a side positive note the meltdowns at drop off for school completely STOPPED after pulling her out of that nightmare! I am ashamed I forced her to attend this place for so long. How I wish she could come home and tell me what they did that made her dread it so much!

Willow Bend is the worst daycare. I would give it only a Poor rating if I could. If you have money, spend more and go somewhere else!! My son started Day Care when he was about 2 ¼. Luckily, he only went to WBLC six months before we moved him to an amazing school that is NAEYC accredited. Every day when we went to pick him up – he would race to the door when he saw us. I swear he would start looking at the door waiting for us to pick him up and this broke my heart. He hated it so much that he couldn’t wait to leave. I knew there was a problem when the “Teacher”, and I use that term loosely, was unable to write a complete note to me. The note used bad grammar, spelling, etc. I seriously wonder if their “teachers” even have high school diplomas. WBLC doesn’t really have a curriculum, they are just a glorified babysitter – and my hubby and I referred to their method of corralling the kids – the chain gang. Their food choices are sub-par as well – sugar in the morning and salty/fatty snacks in the afternoon. His school now serves – oatmeal, yogurt and granola, cereal, and all kinds of healthy morning snacks. He has to have breakfast before school, but I would rather him have a healthy morning snack than the sugar items WBLC serve every day. For afternoon snacks they serve vegetables or fruit, or wholewheat tortilla pinwheels, hummus and pita chips, etc. All HEALTHY items instead of the fatty/salty items at WBLC. And, by the way, they even have misspellings on their menu posted on the website – apparently nobody can spell at WBLC, so what are they teaching the kids??? As a Mom, I still feel guilty a year later for taking my son to WBLC. I was in a rush to find somewhere because I was going back to work unexpectedly. Go anywhere but here!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not a parent from this school, but was a potential teacher looking to join the team. However, I was greeted with rude staff, rough policies, and an impersonal atmosphere. When I was called in about a position, I was greeted coldly by Neke, the Assistant Director, who not only did not greet me, but did not introduce herself until I asked her name. I only found out her position from my research. She very rudely gave me papers to fill out and continued to ignore me. The Director, Roonu Rizavi, never came out of her office to speak with me or any of the parents entering or leaving the school, even though I was filling out papers right in front of her in the lobby. My "Interview" was being pulling into a classroom, never shown the facility, and was rudely told exactly how things were going to be. I was told that I was not going to get the pay asked for due to the fact that "you have under a year of experience and need at least a year" even though I have a year and a half of Nursery and Toddler experience. Lastly, I was told I was never to be absent NO MATTER HOW SICK I WAS for the first 90 days and after that they would be extremely strict on attendance. I politely thanked them and left. I was so upset about the fact that they not only treat new possible staff in a way that I would not want to work there, did not read my papers correctly nor gave me a chance to defend myself, but they do not care enough for the children to find replacements for teachers if they are sick. Who would feel safe sending their child to a school where the teachers are most likely going to get the child sick? I would not put my child in this facility nor would I work here.
