Simply Fantastic. This is our favorite restaurant in Rockport, and we eat here once a month or so (we are residents). I have no idea why there are a few poor reviews here, but I feel the need to write a good one, as each time weve dined here the food and service have been EXCELLENT. The fish dishes have been stellar (my wife doesnt really care for seafood generally, but she loves the snapper and grouper here) and the occasional wild game like antelope or boar is not to be missed. I am a seafood fan, but usually Texas Gulf Coast seafood disappoints me - not so at Glow. They nail it. We are well traveled and know excellent cuisine from mediocre food - Glow is worth every penny and we routinely demolish everything on our plates there. This is not a place to come for big, bland portions - but if you want interesting, carefully prepared food sourced locally, youve found the right place. Drinks are not to be missed either - both inventive and well balanced by solid bartenders. The front porch is a great place to sit at sunset and look out at Little Bay across the street. Picturesque and shady - this is a great place to get out of the sun and have a beer or 3. The only thing to watch out for is that it is a small restaurant that specializes in fresh food and fresh ingredients. Get there early to ensure the best choices on the menu, and make a reservation during the high season, or you may not be able to get a seat!

The décor isnt all that great, its in need of some updating. We were seated quickly and courteously. Our server was a bit snobby and had the air of someone working in a 5 star restaurant, which this was not. Its really poor taste to have white torn of butcher paper covering the nice white linen table cloths. Felt more like a down home BBQ shop than a nice restaurant. The A/C vent kept dripping water on our son and he had to move. We ordered sodas for all 3 of us and the server brought 3 glasses of ice to the table and popped the tops on 3 cans of soda and placed the soda cans next to our glasses of ice for us to pour ourselves. The menu isnt very kid friendly but they were willing to make some fried shrimp for him with mashed potatoes. He got a plate with 4 shrimp and a scoop of mashed potatoes. They charged us $15 for it. I ordered Moms Shrimp and my husband ordered the Fishermans Rack. What I got was NOTHING like the picture you see online. It was very bland, no seasoning. My husband didnt finish his food either, it wasnt very tasty. For the prices they charge they should be serving incredible food because the service and ambiance is definitely lacking. There were only 2 desserts on the menu, neither of which appealed to us. Sadly, we will not be going back to this restaurant....ever.

Not again. My $23 steak was over cooked and dry...of 5 bites I spit out 2 because I could not chew them....broccoli was overcooked and yellow. Potatoes were flavorful but cold.... Our waitress was cooly courteous but young.... an experienced wait person might have taken our comments to the chef or manager...was there a manager? The people at the next table complained about the broccoli and thought it was "spoiled"...it was just way overcooked. They met with a blank stare from their waitperson...and no comment. Staff should be smoothe if this is to be upscale. They should fix it. If my hubbys meal had been good, Id say lets give it another try, but he didnt seem impressed either. There was nothing that isnt better prepared elsewhere for less money. We should not have been charged for the steak I left or bad broccoli...but this is what we do....dont complain (we chose to go there)........just dont go back. Upscale in Rockport so far has meant upscale prices, not quality.... in our experience. Atmosphere is good...no ocean view from inside however and patio is stark. Cute place and I hope they make improvements...but we will never know.

GROSS AND EXPENSIVE!!! Just got home from dinner at GLOW and both my wife and I talked of nothing else on the drive home besides how disappointed we were. We only get one or two date nights a month and this one was totally wasted! First off, this "reastraunt" is in a house with an outdoor covered patio right off the road (you can hear the traffic). Our service was pretty terrible (They asked us to move tables twice and it took us over 30 minutes from finishing our meal to get our check). The worse part though was the food. My wife had the salmon, which tasted like butter and nothing else, and i had the "Boar and Gulf" plate which turned out to be 4 shrimp, 1 pork sausage, and a couple fried oysters. This and 1 glass of wine cost us 64 dollars BEFORE tip! If youre looking for a nice night out, just go to Latitude 28 02. Its a reastraunt/art galary with to die for food, high class atmosphere, and less than $25 a person. Everything that GLOW isnt!

No go to Glow. Slow, inexperienced service. 30-minute wait for soup. Bread came later, after requested. No cocktail napkins, no set-ups - had to request. Silverware we did get was a salad fork, no dinner fork. No plate for sides as main meal, had to use bread plate. Server never asked if we needed water refill. No follow up after food was served. Rockport chowder was bland, veggie soup - dont waist your time. Game plate was lame - wild boar sausage was doubtful, more like Jimmy Deans. Snapper was size of a small match box and dry. Mac could have been Kraft Mac and cheese laced w Sriracha. Brussel sprouts - dont bother - zero taste. Wilted spinach had reduced to nothing, plus no flavor. Green beans were fresh and crispy. Total wait time 1 hour. Never again.

New, fun and delicious...casual, high value, very good service. I have been there three times and it has gotten better each time. Menu is expanding with excellent new choices. Try the crab/shrimp cakes and Moms shrimp for sure. Owner Karey Johnson will become a favorite of area foodies, if they did not know her before. A very welcome addition to eating establishments along the coastal bend...it is worth a drive from Corpus, Port A, or Victoria to enjoy this new restaurant!!!--

Expecting a fun fine dining experience for our anniversary. What we got was overcooked well done filet with bland potatoes. Note to chef, you might want to taste the veggies you are serving. Salt is Cooking 101, duh. And if you cant manage to cook a medium rare filet...really? Maybe a trip to Hells Kitchen is in order. $140 WITH A TIP... worst dining experience with barely an apology. Rating meal as a 1 at that price is being kind, or stupid.

I loved this quaint little restaurant, right next door to the surfside inn, I walked over with my dogs and had dinner on the patio, my waitress was wonderful, and the steak was amazing, I cut it with a butter knife! The shrimp were huge, and the patio was a fun, lively little place, the menu is upscale but totally worth the extra pennies, I highly recommend eating here, overall lovely dining experience.

Terrible. Not upscale and the dinner portions were small. The cook staff doesnt understand plating, execution, seasoning or portion size. I thought I was being punked when I questioned the wait staff about the portion size of my fish. It literally looked like they threw the plate together. It was also cold and under seasoned. I will never go back. It doesnt deserve to use upscale in describing the food.
