I had a very poor experience with Mission Park Funeral Home. If you have lost a loved one and are looking for compasion, this is not the place for you. We had a memorial service for my father at Mission Park and it was a horrible experience. Not only did the air conditioning go out in the 2 rooms that we paid for, the director we signed up with was not present to coordinate the memorial service. The people on staff that night did not know the details of my fathers memorial (DVD for the service, etc.) and we had to get forceful to get them to move us to a room with air conditioning. They did not know when and how my father was to be transferred to the funeral home where he was to be buried and to top it all off, they put the wrong burial place on the death certificate. The funeral director was not compasionate at all. When deciding whether to have a open or closed casket, he called the mortician right in front of us to ask how my father looked. He also made comments about how much money we were paying for this and we could ask anything of him. When my father was delivered to the funeral home where he was to be buried, they had to do additional things to him to make him presentable. If you care about your loved one, do not send them to this place. I have never met such awful and heartless people in a long time. This is a very hard time in a persons life and I would expect that people in this line of business would be more compassionate.

My father passed away this past January. I used Mission Park North for his services and laid him to rest at Mission Park North off of I10 & the Dominion. Since his death I have made weekly visits to the cemetery. Mission Park North Cemetery has done a complete injustice to our deceased love ones and to all the families that have entrusted their deceased love ones to them. The grounds are NEVER kept up. The grass and weeds are taller than most of the headstones. Grass is grown over the flat markers where it is impossible to read the engravings. Its a disgrace and so disrespectful to our mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, other family and friends that have been laid to rest there. Complaining does no good. In fact, the general manager wont even return a phone call. Think twice before entrusting Mission Park with your loved ones.

We recently lost my Grandmother. She had pre-planned her funeral over 30 years ago. The main thing we were informed of was what we saved, I personally think I will place my money in an account to earn the interest myself. What savings, it didnt go into the facilities, the funeral home is run down, even the canopy they set up over the site was stained and torn. The "stickers" on the casket were not straight or even attached on the corners and the flowers ( I cant hold this against them) looked old and wilted. This is a trying time for all involved and yes I can see how pre-planning can be a finical plus, but tell us about it after the fact not the day of planning. All in all I think I will look around before choosing a resting place for myself and family.

Mission Funeral Home on Cherry Ridge did a horrible job with the preparing the body of my mother, O. Carrillo. I heard they ALLOWED THE BODY TO SIT FOR DAYS BEFORE IT WAS PREPARED. Her mouth was stretched out from one side of her face to the other. Even the color of her face was between a yellow and grey. That was very painful and embarrassing for us, The Carrillo Family to go through. At the church service, the director had an angry attitude that really surprised me too. ...never again Mission, never again
