I basically payed $70 for my toddler to play on the equipment which I could have gotten at a park for free. I tried out one class at the Little Gym in Draper and loved it but this place was closer. The class structure at the Little Gym was great toddlers are super distracted but basically the teacher would show us how to do a trick than we would make our way to the station a practice it than once everyone went she went to a new station and trick. So my toddler ran and played but we learned something. I was expecting the same type of thing at Academy West. First class I got no direction nothing even though it was clear we were new. Finally I asked the teacher what I should be doing. She hands me a paper with a list of gymnastic moves on it. First I have never done gymnastics I dont know what any of these things are. Second how am I suppose to read a freaking paper while chasing a toddler around!?! So basically the only time the teacher just didnt stand around was when I had to specifically ask her to show me what to do with my toddler. And I never saw her so any other parents anything. I guess they just knew what they were doing. I gave it four weeks to see if it got better it didnt. I hear tell the older child classes are great but the parent/toddler classes are a total rip off take your child to play at the park instead.

Have a few great coaches whom I love and adore, but the owners are a pain to work with and are NOT very accommodating. They have very poor business management and poor attitude towards customers. Very unprofessional.They also have a lot of very undertrained staff members who they let run some of their higher level classes who are clearly spotting WELL above their comfort zone and trained ability. This company only cares about their competitive gymnastics program and limits their other programs with their lack of attention. This would be a great company under different management, but the current owners do a very poor job. I would not recommend this company.

Love4Ever

My girls love it here! They cant seem to get enough! The office staff are very friendly and accommodating. I enjoy visiting with them. We often share ideas with one another. The coaches are great! You can tell that they truly enjoy what they do! Coach Joe is amazing! How can one person be in so many places at once??!! The staff at the gym are family oriented and willing to try new things, some of which, involve the whole family. Take GALS for example, I love their workouts! Thanks for 4 great years! Looking forward to many more.

Tots (3 year olds) classes are suppose to have max 6 kids and they repeatedly fill it with 8 plus. As you know, the more kids the easier to be distracted. They do not respond to phone calls or emails to discuss this. I would give the gym an above average score if they kept the classes small.

I started taking tumbling seriously in my late twenties and love how Academy West has embraced me and has worked with me to achieve my goals. The coaching staff is absolutely amazing and love how they offer open gym time for me to practice my skills in a safe environment.

I love having my daughter be a part of this gym and I have never considered taking her anywhere else. I would never tell anybody how to do their job but the coaches do an amazing job in any case. I love you guys and I should thank you for letting us be a part of your family.

I truly appreciate Jordan and Amy coaching my daughters. Not only has my daughter improved physically in dance, tumbling and gymnastics but the coaches have built up my daughters self esteem and self worth. Keep up the fantastic work incredible ladies! We love u!

This is our 2nd year w/ AW. My daughter attends tots gymnastics & recently began preschool! The gymnastics coach has helped my daughter w/ her listening skills, group setting skills & overall gymnastics skills. My daughter improved 100%.

Great place. My youngest daughter took Gymnastics for a couple of seasons and now my oldest is in competitive dance. We love the coaches and the Officer ladies. Everyone here is great and they are very good to my girls.

We love coach Steven and my kids talk about him all the time because he makes class very fun and exciting. They really enjoy the foam block pit and parent tut class is the best.
