Ive been a student and part of the Arthur Murray - Phoenix family for going on 6 mos. now. I honestly have to say that it has been one of the MOST positive experiences of my life. They are one of the RARE businesses today that has a heart. Everyone from the owner on down strive to get to know each/every student and also line up to dance with you at the weekly parties. They encourage their more advanced students to do the same too which gives beginners extra dance floor time. Its such a WONDERFULLY positive environment. The parties are such GREAT fun with dancers ranging from their twenties to nineties! Moreover, whether your goal is to be a competition level dancer or you just want to have the confidence to get out on a dance floor, they have a phenomenally talented group of instructors who will get you right where you need/want to be, tailoring a program specifically for YOU. I, personally have certain physical limitations that I THOUGHT, before coming there, would have prevented me from EVER dancing again. Thanks to their caring staff, that proved not to be true. They also have a variety of set packages to meet your financial needs, which I hear from someone who signed up at ANOTHER high profile named dance studio here In Phoenix, are FAR more AFFORDABLE than there. But thats not all. THIS Arthur Murray studio goes, in my opinion, above and beyond by tailoring a PAYMENT plan to suit you. My income is quite limited at this time but, once the owner saw what JOY dancing brought me, she worked out a payment plan EVEN I could afford which INCREDIBLY allows me to dance each and every week, attend weekly group lessons, as well as the weekly parties, AND private time with an instructor I absolutely adore. I also know that Im not the FIRST they have done this for, nor will I be the LAST. My suggestion is to come see for yourself at one of the FREE monthly guest parties. Usually participants receive a free lesson, at MINIMUM, for attending. Just call their office to find out when the next guest party is, give them my name, and come as my guest! That way, youll already know someone there. P.S. Arthur Murray - Phoenix, thank you SO much for bringing back the joy of dance to my life!

I started as a student with the Phoenix Arthur Murray Dance Studio in 1983. Ive spent thousands of dollars on my dancing and its been worth every penny and more! After reading the review by "Janit", Im sure this person has never been a student at the Phoenix Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Her review is filled with inconsistencies and misinformation. First (and most blatent) is the reference to the studio Showcase. The review is dated August 1, 2009, but the Showcase (which I personally attended) didnt take place until August 15, 2009. How can someone comment on an event that hadnt yet taken place? Next, disparaging remarks were made regarding the professional show. It just so happens that the professional show included the 3rd place World Mambo Champions and the 5th place South American Show Dance Champions according to the United States Dance Sport Championip Judges in September 2009. Obviously she feels that a few introductory lessons qualifies someone to make judgements about professional couples dancing, that supercedes the USDS judging panel. Speaking of professionals, Arthur Murray Dance Studios have been known for over 90 years for their world-class training and teacher preparation. This person was misinformed. Yes, quality ballroom dance instruction isnt cheap, however this person has their information all mixed up again. I know for a fact that the studio offers a variety of options for dance courses and financial arrangements. Its also far more expensive to take lessons from some unqualified hack, with no quality control, who may disappear tomorrow (along with your money). Then you have to pay for more lessons to fix all the bad habits the "cheap" teacher showed you. My guess is that this person wasnt a student at Phoenix Arthur Murray at all, but perhaps some disgruntled trainee who didnt measure up, or possibly someone just trying to bash the competition. Since these reviews are neither verified nor monitored for truthfulness, ANYONE can write ANYTHING about ANYONE. My advice is if you are interested in taking dance lessons, try it! The first lesson is free. Then decide for yourself.

Way over price for the crappy quality your buying into. I wouldnt suggest going there at all! I paid 860.00 for 6 Private, 6 group session & 6 partys to attend. They dont tell you-- If no one comes to the groups except you, it would be counted as a private lesson. I NEVER FELT SO CHEATED IN MY LIFE. This is one of the FEW PROBLEMS. I had have faced being a student there. This is more than someone being angry at an in structure, but simply an expensive lost. I am so unhappy, & still in disbelief of how awful my experience has been there. . However, my instructor that was there, is by far the best, actually the most incredible in that fact. Its just the structure of the rules that owner has going on there is by far the biggest SCAM I encountered with. PLEASE TAKE THE ADVICE & DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY NOR YOUR TIME.

Ive been coming to Arthur Murray in Phoenix on and off for about 8 months. The one on one instruction has been great from my instructor Tina. The instructors know just about every type of dance you could want to learn, even various international dance styles. Ive always felt welcomed there, and everyone has been very nice. Its not free, be prepared to spend a little bit of money, but if you approach it as an instructional class, its on par with any other type of specialty instruction. Combine that with the top notch instructors, and it makes for a great experience. They will work with whatever budget you have. Also, there are lots of dance events and group classes that should be taken advantage of. The central Phoenix location is easily accessible from the 51 freeway, and is only about 3 miles off of the 17.

I always thought it would be cool to have secret dance moves and decided to learn some social dancing about 7 years ago at the Arthur Murray studio. Much to my surprise, doing the cha cha, rumba, and waltz was fun, athletic, challenging, and certainly brings a whole new light to "socializing." After all of these years, dancing is a great way to bring balance to life and add some creative expression to an otherwise analytical job. The Arthur Murray staff is top notch, friendly, easy going, and there is a ton of love for dancing and teaching. I highly recommend this studio over other studios. They have the structure and teaching style to really show you how to dance not just dance steps no one can follow in a social setting.

My experience at Arthur Murray has been exceptional. They are true professionals from the very beginning. I had very little dance knowledge or ability and they made me very comfortable and at ease. The instructors are well educated in all types of dance. They made it a pleasant experience and made me feel like I could do it. They give you every opportunity to succeed and offer a variety of classes and parties to help you learn. I feel it is a great value for me and after going through some trying personal issues it gave me a great outlet to give me more confidence in the social world of dance.
