I usually dont like spending a lot of money on lunch, and on Church Street in Burlington there is no such thing as a "lunch deal" or "Special". But today I caved and decided to treat myself to a sandwich at New Moon. I ordered the Chicken and Brie on Sourdough, grilled to go. I waited 15 minutes for my sandwich. Not sure if the Panini makers they use to grill sandwiches are up to the challenge, but 15 minutes to grill a sandwich seemed like a long time. And it seemed as if the staff on the line making food was more interested in tossing salads then paying attention to the sandwiches on the Panini makers. Cheese on one of the sandwiches was leaking out the side of the machine. I finally brought this to their attention and they said someone would bring me my sandwich soon. I waited and noticed another person looking around holding my sandwich as if she was not sure what to do with it. I said, Is that a Chicken and Brie, she nodded and handed it to me. The sandwich cost me $9.00. It was definitely grilled, but the chicken was like jerky with way too much mustard on the sandwich, which made it mushy and I didnt taste any Brie at all. Frustrating and unsatisfying.

This place is just lovely. When you appreciate a Café, you really appreciate the culture, the nice comfy feel of relaxing in a cozy place with a nice delicious drink and well made food. The people who work here are always nice, the drinks are better than Starbucks, less expensive, and food is fresh and great, and theres always room to relax and chill for awhile. They have free WiFi that is fast, and the seating is good. The couches are really nice. I just love this place, and if you like cafés, you will to. Short note, this is really one of the very best places to be in Burlington and the surrounding areas. Give it a try, and youll always come back. Ive been coming back for months, and this place is consistent, any day you come, it will be a great experience.

I went there specifically because I was told they were good for people who are gluten free. That couldnt be more wrong. They did have a gluten free bread, but it was sitting next to all the other breads and their crumbs. (it was crumbly and terrible by the way) They offered to toast it but when I asked if they had a seperate area, they said no. They used the same knives to spread guacamole, and the turkey bacon was chewy and nasty. It was also $10. I will never go back. Also, theyre carmalized onions were the worst! They were cold, not at all sweet or onion-y...just cold nasty rubbery worms. Maybe the drinks are good...I dont know I didnt want to spend any more money.

Ive been here probably a dozen times. Great environment for grabbing lunch, meeting someone for coffee, or studying (lots of tables in the back room). The salads are excellent (and enormous), sandwiches are good (but not quite large enough) and the breakfast items Ive tried have been great too. Their coffee and espresso drinks are consistently well made, and Ive never had any issues with service - usually prompt and friendly (its counter service by the way, not table service). This would be a five star review except for the prices for the espresso drinks and sandwiches...I know its a high-rent location on Cherry street but its still a little too pricey.

Great local cafe, huge quiet seating area with local artwork and a calm atmosphere. I love studying and writing here. For meeting with people, use the front. The back is a bit echoey and less private. Good local food. Good coffee drinks. Good smoothies. They donate to the poor and make a strong effort at helping the homeless situation. That said, they allow a lot of homeless the use of their facility in a way that promotes them hanging around on Cherry St yelling obscenities at women I know.

This is a great cafe, and a very good lunch spot. The food choices are excellent, though perhaps though perhaps a tiny bit on the expensive side. The seating is abundant and comfortable, though it does get crowded, especially when the weather outside is foul. This is the kind of place where people tend to park for a long, long time, which is great for me when I want to relax all afternoon with a book, and annoying when I cant find anyplace to sit.

some of the wait staff was not nice. Its not clear how you get your food. we took a number to our seats, yet when our bagel was ready it was thrown up on the counter. Apparently we were supposed to listen for it and go get it-- the same with our drinks . the rest of the food was brought to our table?? it was a long wait. The food was ok but next time i would just go across the street.

Useful space for a breakfast meeting, although it gets noisy by lunch time... but how does any restaurant consistently burn scrambled eggs? Most of their breakfast menu revolves around eggs, and If I could ever get a scrambled egg that wasnt browned to the edge of blackness, this place would be 3.5-4 stars.

Delicious and affordable casual dining. Staff was very understanding of considerable dietary restrictions, and answered all questions with aplomb. Their iced maple latte was stellar, and totally won me over. Also - love their suspended food and drink offerings, and sense of commitment to community.

Overpriced garbage...would be better. The staff is rude and more worried about socializing with one another than providing you with the service/food you pay for. Not surprising that my food was carelessly prepared with a terrible balance of taste. Oh, and I heard they raised the prices, HA!

Very tasty sandwiches with lots of interesting flavors. The vegan and vegetarian sandwiches actually turned out to be better than grilled chicken sandwich. The service was pretty quick, the staff was friendly and the coffee was delicious. The price is a bit high but the ambiance is nice.

The food is pretty good and the atmosphere is nice. Theres almost always an open table. Juices are really tasty. The monster cookies are amazing. I give the three stars because every time I go there they are out of an ingredient for whatever I order. Last time it was spinach.

Loved this place since I went to UVM five years ago, spent a lot of time within these walls stressing over my thesis and overdosing on caffeine. Now having come back a few years on, I feel like the food is disappointing, uninspiring, and not keeping up with current trends.

Best espresso in town hands down. Killer sandwiches. The real story here are the salads. You can design your own salad with tons of fresh ingredients and home made dressings. Top it off with a cupcake. My favorite spot in town for lunch.

Delicious cafe with many vegetarian options and refreshing pressed juices. Prices are very fair for the amount of food you get. Pleanty of seating with great local art hanging on the walls and a warm fire place area with big cozy couches.

The salads here are great. The last one I tried, the Eden, was wonderful (and massive!). There is a lot of seating for getting work done, but also lovely couches and more intimate tables for meeting up with a friend or two.
