Please, for the sake of your child, do not send your child to ANY of the Leaps and Bounds Childcare Pigpens! There are so many reasons why you should rethink your decision to sign any sort of contract with this place. To list a few: the high turn over rate of teachers, they do background checks as well as reference checks AFTER the person has been hired and actively employed, they pick favorites (especially, in the infant rooms!) and neglect the others, they dont have a clue when it comes to customer service, in fact, I once heard the executive director say that she didnt care if a parent was upset with the center because there is another child that is on the waiting list ready to take their spot, they claim that the classrooms are designed according to the development of the child but that isnt true- they start moving the kids up to the next group about 2 weeks before their birthday and the DAY of their birthday they are permanently in that room, even if the child is not developmentally ready. this movement opens up spots for them to take more kids in, which gets to my next point, the place is all about money, they keep raising the tuition- but the employees are not getting raises and all of the supposed supplies and toys are not being bought, THIS IS A BUSINESS, NOT A SCHOOL! and, by the way, all of this is coming from a former employee who quit.

Do not go there ! We had the worse time ever here! My kid had a mark on her forehead and face twice in one week. Both times nobody knew why. The second time I asked and the teacher didnt know. And I respectfully and quietly walked out. The next day I called with my concerns. The manager called me back after I initially called to begin with. And totally flipped it around on me saying I yelled at teacher and slammed the gate ! And a parent had emailed them saying so. This "email" never happened. I asked to see it and they refused. Guess what. NONE of it was true. And it blew my mind. I was then told we were terminated. But yet I was the one who called with the complaint. No accident report or anything and now I was the "bad guy " for calling with a concern. They refused to refund our 450 dollars as well. The staff are related they will stick together in a bad situation. The head lady at Essex jct location is very fake and was very rude to me. Even hung up. Believe me when I tell you . Its fake and DONT GO THERE. I tried contacting the owner to let them know of the wrongful acts and you simply cant reach her.

I had been sending my 1 year old here for the past 6 months when I saw a teacher/babysitter "man-handle" a tiny infant in the non-mobile infant room. I was just about to leave with my son when I snuck another peak at all the cute little babies in the room one more time before I left - and that is when I saw her do what she did.... she grabbed this tiny little baby that was sitting next to her by his little arm and whipped him around behind her in a very angry and aggressive manner - basically, she grabbed him by his arm and tossed him behind her! She seemed upset that he was getting into the stack of balls that she was trying to put away. The poor baby instantly started screaming (since being tossed across the floor by his arm would probably have frightened him terribly!) I immediately told another teacher/sitter in a different room and then went home and called the owner and director. After a few days of supposedly "investigating" the incident they decided to keep the woman on as an employee of the daycare! UNBELIEVABLE! DO NOT SEND YOU BABIES HERE! THIS WOMAN WAS TERRIBLY MEAN TO AN INNOCENT INFANT!

I have been sending my son to Leaps and Bounds since he was 6 months old and now he is almost 2, and I have never ever felt that there was any issue with my sons safety. Leaps and Bounds in my opinion is easily the best child care center in the area hands down. Great with kids, awesome activities, and a truly caring staff. They are very thorough and I have always felt like they go out of their way to create a great community for all those that attend. Not to mention the awesome multiple events for the attending families throughout the year. My child never wants to leave, and I think that is another clear indicator on how great this center is. With certain things such as child journals updated by the teachers and parents, Ive always felt like there was clear lines of communication. I would highly recommend this center to anyone who was looking for quality child care!

Our experience at Leaps and Bounds has been excellent. Our 3 your old is very engaged and happy everyday. His head teachers in the preschool are well trained and provide an enriching curriculum for the kids. They have proved to be caring and thoughtful when problems arise and communicate concerns in a professional, caring manner.

I dont really agree with Leaps and Bounds. Went in for an interview and the lady flat out told me that the kids are placed in the certain locations based on their learning abilities.

Friendly staff, lots of fun stuff for the kids to play on in the playgrounds. The space is clean and kept neat. The prices are reasonable for daycare as well

Awful places to leave your kids. Stay away from Leaps and Bounds. Too many locations, too much turnover, dirty. Your child will suffer.
