Hard to believe that it has been over a year since we sent a scared, lil 2.5 yr old to tutortime for the first time. The walkthru was a few weeks before the facility opened, before the facility even had the certification and we signed up on the spot. Even at that time, with the bright independent building, brand new facility, great toys and play/learning facilities, what helped us decide, was the sincerity and enthusiasm that Stacy displayed. The quality of the facility is only surpassed by the quality of the staff thats been there, for the last year. Whether it is the smiling(and always cheerful) Rose or the friendly caring Lindcy or the always bubbly Christine, each person is willing to take that extra step to makesure that your child is happy, comfortable and safe.If you even have the slightest concern about anything, all you need to do is to mention the same to Stacy or Rose, and there is always a prompt solution. The day is full of activities, both indoor and outdoor, where the children are givennumerous opportunities to learn at their own pace using all their senses. There is always some fun stuff going on, whether it is the mayor, firemen or policemen stopping by to read stories in uniform, face painting or drum and dance fun. The curriculum is aimed at helping each child identify and develop their strengths, but as parents, the best thing we liked was the fact that there was no pressure on us or any expectations set on the child to mold to anything. The child is allowed to grow at his / her pace and is given encouragement at every stage. This even includes some tough transitions phases like potty training. The tutortime staff is there, to lend a hand to both the child and the parents at each step. Speaking of which, the lil 2.5 year old from a year ago, just got back from tutortime, gave a 5 min description about his day pepperred with terms like friends, play, excellent and fun... stated that he wanted to go back the next day, indicated that he is hungry and would like dinner as soon as possible. Trust us, he did not learn any of that from us ! Thank You Tutortime Shelton.

The school has a great curriculum, security, teachers and facilities. The teachers are very hard working and loving towards kids and the staff at front desk is friendly and professional. What bothers me about this place is the insecurity about enrollment, which in turn results in teachers holding kids back in their classes, getting the kids to make requests to parents to hold them back, and shooting comments at parents. I have walked into a class and heard teachers cribbing about a parent. I used to think I am over thinking situations but in talking to other parents realized that they experienced the same thing! The teachers disappear for weeks at a time because of poor enrollment and when they return the pressure on parents comes in "go full time" or "you shouldnt be so possessive, bring your baby into daycare" "you are just being insecure as a mom" "you have to be sensitive to your child you know, abc isnt ready to go to the next class yet" "I dont know what they do in the lower class (in the same school btw), but we work very hard" "I think your kid doesnt like the other teacher, maybe she will get used to the teacher over time. Why dont you transfer your kid over to my class, she gets along pretty well with me" All our friends have shared these experiences. This school needs to reassure their teachers, pay them well and give them incentives so that we dont have crabby teachers after teacher appreciation week. Hand picked flowers, home made treats, hand drawn cards and poems mean zilch if you dont give them a decent gift card. Its ridiculous! Gossip travels quickly, a parent that was friendly to many teachers suddenly is the black sheep. One of our friends moved out last year and the teachers had the nerve to advise them to not spend on a new house, disrupt their kids lives and not choose to move closer to work just to be able to spend more quality time together. Are you freaking kidding me?! Their enrollment and pay issues are spilling over to other peoples lives. I am glad my kids no longer go to this school.

Prior to having a child of my own I worked in a daycare and swore that I would NEVER send my child to one. Unfortunately, I was not able to stay home with my son. Now, I believe that sending him to Tutor Time in Shelton is the best thing we could have done. Shortly after placing our son in Tutor Time he was diagnosed with a mild form of cerebral palsy. After his diagnosis, I worried that I would have to find a different means of child care. To my surprise, the Director Stacy eased my fears immediately and assured me that our son could stay and they welcomed the opportunity to work with him. The Co-Director Christine continues to work with me as my sons schedule changes weekly. There was a time when I would call everyday to check on him, and his teacher was always extremely friendly would informed me of his day. I am impressed with how friendly all of the teachers are and how they take in interest in each child. Some of the teachers have never had my son in their class and they know him and have something nice to say. I would like to mention that my son was not even crawling when he started. Now he is walking, jumping, feeding himself, he counts in Spanish, he is learning how use the potty, his vocabulary and manners continue to surprise me every day. As a working parent I would like to take credit for all of that, but I know that many of these things the teachers, at Tutor Time helped with. My son wakes up in the morning and is excited to go to school. He loves his teacher and his friends. As a mom knowing your child is happy and you made the right decision is priceless. I have and continue to recommend Tutor Time Shelton to any parent who would like their child in a loving, nurturing environment, where they are exposed to all types of activities and where all children are welcome and belong. As they say, it takes a village to raise a child and I am grateful to have Tutor Time Shelton as a part of ours.

My husband and I are extremely happy with the day care services and pre-school at the Tutor Time in Shelton, CT. When our daughter turned three, we felt it was in her best interest to remove her from another daycare chain (down the road). When we toured Tutor Time we found that the environment was clean, safe, and most importantly happy and positive. And all of this was not just for show, but that is how it is every day. The building is very secure, there is always someone at the front desk, and every room is cleaned at the end of the day. The staff is always helpful, friendly and positive, and caring towards all the children. Our daughter likes her routine and we were concerned how she would react and handle the change of a new place, teachers and friends. Well, I am thrilled to say that my daughter has LOVED it from the moment she started. She has now been at Tutor Time for well over a year, and I can truly say that she has blossomed into such a happy, out-going, independent, and smart little girl. When she skips into the building in the morning she is greeted by any teacher that sees her and quite often she runs to give them a hug. She absolutely LOVES her school and all of the teachers and management because they are ALL great people. Most of all, my daughter absolutely adores and loves her teacher Miss Emma (she has been with her the entire time). I believe that Miss Emma is a real gem and a wonderful teacher. My daughter has learned so much from her and I am forever grateful. In addition, several months ago they added Miss Christine to co-teach in the room, and both teachers have worked wonderfully together. After my previous experience with another daycare facility, I can highly recommend Tutor Time Shelton for their professionalism, educational curriculum, learning environment, and their staff!
