Teachers were amazing!! To the note of the person who just posted , I also so that baby in the who was asleep sort of twisted in the bouncer , I also said something to the young lady that toured me , she told me that he was "fine , because he sleeps like that no matter what we do." One of the teachers heard my comment and assured me that he slept that way even at home. I was concerned at first but when an older teacher moved him , and placed him in the crib , he immediately turned and looked super uncomfortable, but slept soundly. They attempted to correct his position and it seemed to disturb him more than his uncomfortable looking position. I understand wanting to post but I feel it equally important to post the full story. Also , I got the same impression , The Director was VERY VERY rude and had an extreme attitude when I was speaking with her , she past me off to , what I think was a staff Member (who wore a green shirt) at first and then a younger woman who Im assuming helps in the front she eventually gave me a tour. Both the teacher and the woman that gave me the tour were very friendly and understanding of my reluctance to put my first child in daycare , the woman without the green shirt even went so far as to tell me not to make a decision on this school or any other without careful thought and to make sure it was a good fit for our family. I think corporate daycare places extreme pressure on the teachers to work miracles with little to no resources. This school seems to be one of them, the staff seemed very attentive to the children and even happy to be with them , however it is evident that they are working with no resources which is appalling due to the price...$372 A WEEK for infants!! The 2 yr old class is the worse , it smells and seemed in total disarray. In the end weve decided to pay a little more for a nanny.

Infant Room & Staff: The parents at this location pay a lot of money per week no matter if they’re child is there or not (like most places) however I don’t believe the staff comes close to getting paid well. Under paid staff with poor leadership (director and assistant director) can only lead to unhappy employee that doesn’t want to give the extra care you’d want for your child. It often seems that the assistant director is high on something and the head director is out of it herself and doesn’t seem to check on the rooms often and doesn’t seem to get along with any of her staff. The staff that watches over my children are kind and all seem to get along but they seem overwhelmed, 4 infants per teacher is a lot to handle. I know no one can take care of your child better than you but you hope that they’re being cared for and watched over. Some of the toys and bouncers/jumpers are dirty and haven’t been cleaned in a while, LOOK at that stuff when you visit. The location is great, close to the metro but it is in a shopping plaza with lots of homeless people around and other sketchy people. They do have a security system which works but just don’t let people PIGGY BACK in behind you, let people use the key paid to let themselves in, doing so protects all our kids. Childtime locations sometimes have video surveillance so you can check in on your child from work/home/anywhere, why doesn’t this location offer that? They should and we should all push them to have that. My biggest suggestion is pop in OFTEN at different times unexpectedly and be observant to the things taking place. Speak up, even if it’s not about your own child, all us parents need to lookout for each other. I suggest using this location but not for the infant room until they make some changes.

Tuition is average in DC/VA/MD area and is overall justified by the facilities. Location is extremely convenient to us: right inbetween two highway exits/entrances. The neighborhood, however, is kinda creepy and you wanna get out asap. My daughter and I actually liked a few of her teachers. The principal and her assistant, on the other hand, always gave us a feeling that sth fishy is going on, which was part of the reason we left for another daycare we feel more comfortable with when it became available. We got an incident report for a bruise on her lip that we cannot even tell, so I would say they have procedures in place. But my husband once or twice saw our daughter was crying alone and the teachers picked her up only after seeing him. The a few times I got there early I either saw the time written on her diapers was future time, or shes not fed or changed on schedule - in fact far behind. One evening after picked her up I found in her poo a piece of rubber band. It looks like a professional daycare. But I agree with some earlier reviewers - if you have better choice, dont send your kid here.

I moved back to Alexandria after 3 years and plus two kids...now 3 and 1. I desperately searched for a day care for my then 2 year old. I needed something that was near I-495 as I work in DC. After searching several places near Richmond Highway, I found ChildTime. This was a blessing. Its near the Huntington Metro Station which is great and just a short drive from Downtown. It is so clean and my son looks forward to going to school. After my son attended for about two months I decided to my baby in. She loves the infant room and the ladies in their treat her and my son as if they are their own. They even do writing and art activities with the babies and my son, now in the 3-year-old class, has a journal and can explain the what an illustrator and author are when we read books together. As a elementary school educator, I am comfortable having my children here and know they will be ready for Kindergarten when they leave.

If you really knew the Childtime staff and location you wouldnt want you child there. The receptionist is rude and very low when confronted, Ms. Janet just listens to the loud staff. People are fighting and cursing in front of the children and the staff sometimes just walks out. The director and her receptionist treats the staff badly, but because some of the staff is in welfare to work they cannot leave so its a horrible atmosphere when parents are not there. Dont get me wronge some of the staff really love the children ( like one or tow people), but after seeing that happen I would NEVER SEND MY CHILD THERE. The little store beside the childtime is always being held up and some unsavory people are around there daily. I just couldnt send my children there with knowing these circumstances.

I went in to tour, and off the bat they were very rude. They seemed reluctant to answer my questions. When I went to visit the infant room, I saw this one baby hanging off of a jumper with his neck in a very uncomfortable looking position. I told them about the child to help him and they said "oh, hell be fine". I would not want my kid being treated like this, and I could understand if they hadnt seen him yet. But once they were aware, they shouldve addressed the issue immediately. This did not seem like a very friendly environment.
