Avoid at all cost, wether it be repairs or a used car purchase. I dont care how nice of a car you think they have, or how great a deal it may appear to be -- go elsewhere. My wife and I traded in her X3 for an older 745Li, we went ahead with the deal even though it was priced $1,500 above KBB (after negotiations) because Curtis claimed it was his personal vehicle, and kelly blue book couldnt account for the immaculate care hed taken of the vehicle. We went home to think about it and decided weally liked the car. We thought it was a great size for our growing family, so I called Curtis the next day and he had me send my info to him so he could get the paper work started and speed things up. My wife and I headed down after I got off work, and proceeded to spend over 2 hours waiting for a rather rude lady to fill out paper work which I assumed had been done. We had our two year old son, so you can only imagine how well that went. It was all a cover, the car was in the garage, supposedly being cleaned, though I asked that they not bother as we needed to get our son home. After the whole fiasco, we got home and the very next day the check engine light, ABS light, and flat tire monitor light came on. I called the next day to bring it back in, as it came with a 30 warranty. After dignosis the rude lady called to say it was the drivers front wheel speed sensor, and it would be almost $300 to repair, as the warranty was drivetrain only. I asked to speak to Curtis, and he agreed to goodwill the repair. When I picked it up the check engine light was still on, so the mechanic brought out a low end scanner and claimed it wasnt on when I dropped it even though they store codes. Turned out to be a fuel related issue to which he claimed was no big deal and to set up another appointment to have it looked at. Before I got home, all of the same lights came back on - ABS, FTM. Turns out, they never replaced the wheel speed sensor, they just cleared the code. Turns out, that was also an improper dignosis, and the wheel speed sensor tested fine. The actual problem, and it was nothing new, so Im convinced they were well aware of it, was the ABS module which controls many different things. This is a $2,000 repair, not including the check engine light and various other things that have surfaced since purchase. Such as, servotronic malfunction (power steering), stability control malfunction, traction control malfunction, coolant leak, which may also prove rather expensive, and the transmission malfunction light is now on. Whats rely upsetting is he claimed most mileage he put on it was to and from church, but sold a car with malfunctioning antilock brakes and power steering to an expecting family with a toddler. Now were stuck with a $3,000 trade in value lemon needing well in excess of $3,000 of repairs, while Curtis is asking almost $6,000 over what he gave us for our X3 after just painting the rear bumper.

Disappointed in the level of competence. 2008 Mini Cooper S Took my Mini to them after being referred by another auto shop as one of the better locations in Charlottesville. They said that I had oil leaks, super charge line and valves. They also wanted to so a "tune up" as it was a give me since they were in there. Work completed for around 2100.. They told me that fixed the problem and that I would need a new clutch eventually otherwise a sound car... 3 weeks (I took a 1600 mile trip) later my car is almost empty of oil. I take it back, they tell me it is normal for minis to burn oil and changed my oil without my permission and charged me. At this time they now said that the timing chain needed replaced. I said no thank you. Took my Mini to Mini in Richmond. Mini of Richmond opens her up and tells me that yes the timing chain needs replaced as well as the valve cover because it had blown oil all over the engine. They took me in the back and showed me. They also stated I needed a new clutch. Mini also told me that they should have done the valve cover and the timidity chain the first time they had my Mini open as it was obvious this work needed completed. They then told me that Blueridge put in subpar spark plugs that would need changed again... I dont know if Blueridge is incompetent or they just wanted to draw the job out for money but wither way Im disappointed.

I have taken my car to Blueridge Motor Works Inc. multiple times in the past, with little to no issue. However, recently I took my car to get a state inspection. $890.00 dollars later I received my car back with two of the interior Hvac buttons cracked. The owner claimed no responsibility, and refused to replace the now broken buttons. Unfortunately because this is not an Authorized BMW dealer there is nothing BMW of North America can do about this issue. I now have to seek legal representation in civil court. My suggestion to anyone who is looking for a repair or service shop in the Charlottesville area is to AVOID THIS business at all cost. They will not hold themselves accountable for damages done while in their care!

Great company with gifted mechanics and kind front office. I have been a client of there mechanics and their service since 1986. It is always top notch. They are an asset to the Charlottesville auto repair community. I am aware that local auto dealers have called Blueridge Motor Work for assistance. Expensive automobiles require talented, trained and detailed mechanics. These guys fit the bill!

One star is too many for this place. Ill boil my story down to this: - Nearly a month in the shop - Nearly $7k in repairs - Still not working properly. Avoid. Were now going to Airport Auto. They seem honest, found mistakes (Blue Ridge had put in a check value backwards) and are reasonable. 2003 Audi Avant A4.

I dropped my BMW off for some parts to be fitted and found BMWI to be helpful and friendly. When I picked the car up, I was able to take a look at the work and ask questions before payment. Judging by my experience today, I would certainly recommend Blueridge Motor Works Inc. to friends and family.

We bought a used car from them around 2 years ago. The car has done well for us and they honored any follow up repairs that were needed. I would buy another car from them.
