Layers is fantastic. I have patronized the business for three years and the experience is always a great one. The staff is extremely competent and professional. Everyone is friendly and they make a genuine effort to get to know clients. I think the entire staff knows my name and more about my hair than I do. Scheduling is done well; I am never left waiting after the start of my appointment. Ariella is the beautifully talented stylist who cuts my hair. She does an phenomenal job of translating my garbled requests into an amazing cut that makes use of current styles. All my haircuts have been stunning. I have never had even an average cut at Layers. I cannot recommend Layers highly enough. You owe it to your hair to give this place a try.

Had an appointment yesterday with Mercedes. She was awesome! She took her time to be sure my hair looked just right. The cut was exactly what I wanted and the color turned out amazing! I cut off a lot of length, she went slow until she reached a length that I was comfortable with. Most places Ive been just chop it off and tell you it will grow back, that was not the case here. Mercedes couldnt have been more sensitive or attentive to my hair needs. This is the first time Ive washed my hair after a cut and not cried for the dramatic loss of length (Im a bit of a drama queen when it comes to my hair) I could not feel more confident or fabulous about my new do! I will be back!

I called for a last minute appt, and was easily accomodated. It was especially nice that they had later hours for those of us with multiple kiddos and crazy schedules. The atmosphere is great, and Sarah my stylist did such a stellar job! I dont always articulate or speak the stylist lingo to express what I want, but she asked all the right questions and gave me just what I was looking for. I had darkened my hair with box color, and came to her to get highlights and a trim. My hair looks the best it has in years. Thanks Sarah!

Great experience! I dont get my hair cut as frequently as I should because Im often dissatisfied with the final result and they always cut off more hair than I have requested. Not this time! Im quite pleased with the hair cut I received from Kris. Its probably the first time in several years that Ive actually liked my haircut (versus waiting for it to grow out a bit). I have curly hair and Kris knew exactly what she was doing. Ill definitely be going back to her for future haircuts. Thanks!

Nancy is wonderful! I have tried a few different salons throughout the Richmond/Chesterfield area. I have not had any success...until I found Layers. Nancy is an amazing stylist :). I had originally gone to her to have her "fix" what a previous stylist had done in Chesterfield. I have only been to her twice and she has done an awesome job both times. I have my next appointment in two weeks for color and cut and cannot wait!! I would definitely recommend Layers to everyone.

I am new to the area and this is the third salon I have been too and I love it!! This is a salon I will frequent from now on. My stylist Aje was great and the hair cut I got was awesome, she actually made it easier for me to style it everyday. I definitely reccomend this salon. As far as the smell that the previous person wrote about, i did not experience any of that as I believe Layers is in a new location.

I love Layers! I have been there many times for cuts and colors and I have never been disappointed! I have recommended friends to go there as well and they loved it too! The atmosphere of the salon is great. Professional and upscale without being pushy or over the top. Everyone there is always pleasant. I will continue to go back!

Ive been going here for over 4 years now and refuse to have anybody cut my hair except for Ariella. Shes fantastic! My mom and manager also will not go anywhere else for the hair cuts, however they have different stylists. Everyone there has a great personality and loves what they do. I highly recommend Layers!

there may be some experienced stylists here, but there is a growth of black mold in the back of the salon, and the shampoo area smells like sewage due to some sort of a leak in the pipes....i would be very concerned about my physical health attending this salon from what ive heard from employees...

I live in Lynchburg but drive to Layers because Bethany does an amazing job. I can explain to her what I want and she delivers, while also tailoring my requests to make sure my hair cut and color fits my lifestyle, face shape AND stays healthy (sometimes Im unrealistic). Shes worth the drive!!

I absolutely Love Layers Hair Salon. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. I get all over color and haircut from Bethany Collier. She is absolutely amazing and I leave feeling beautiful! I found this salon a few months ago and my only regret is not finding it sooner!

I randomly chose them from google maps called at noon on a friday, they were happy to fit me in within the hour. Jennifer seemed genuinely friendly, and gave me the cut I asked for. I will definitely make an appointment for my next cut.

Janice is fantastic. Ive gone to her for years, and she really does a stellar job. The staff is usually very friendly, and I like the atmosphere in there. Would definitely reccomend this salon above the others Ive been to in Richmond.

This is the first time I try Layers and I think it is pretty good. I loved my haircut and I must say that I am pretty picky when it comes to haircuts. I would definitely go there again. The salon was pretty busy.
