I have been training BJJ for about 1.5 years. I have had an opportunity to travel per my work, thus I trained in many different BJJ schools from FL to NJ and even on US Military bases overseas. And I assure you that I havent had any other more technical and thorough in his instructions BJJ coach than David Trader. When I just started training BJJ and Muay Thai I was about 200 LB and extremely out of shape. In 3 month I dropped to 170 LB and after only 6 month I competed at my first COPA NOVA BJJ tournament and got a Bronze Medal. If you ever wanted to loose weight, get active, feel more confident etc. you should try this school! Amazing BJJ classes! Intensive Muay Thai training! No BS power lifting equipment and coach! In fact, I got 2 kids that I definitively am signing up for KIDS BJJ with Michelle Welti, the winner of many National Level BJJ tournaments. I think they still have a free week trial. Come try it out.

When I moved back to Virginia and started looking for a place to train BJJ in the Manassas area, I consulted with a close friend and BJJ Black Belt, and without hesitation, he immediately recommended Dave Trader and Manassas MMA. Dave Trader is a 2nd degree Black Belt and one of the most personable and friendly BJJ instructors I have ever encountered. He is also an extremely technical practitioner and fantastic instructor who really takes the time to ensure every student is utilizing the demonstrated techniques properly. Furthermore, the facility, the atmosphere, the class sizes, and the entire Manassas MMA team are great. I figure that when you have other BJJ Black Belts recommending a specific instructor, you should probably take notice. I have, and I’ve been extremely happy with my training so far. Thanks Dave and the entire Manassas MMA team!

Ive been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu here under David Trader for about 3.5 years now, and i am extremely happy with my progress. The new location is much more comfortable than the previous locations. The fight school is now separated from the hardcore gym, allowing us to be much more focused while training, yet still have easy access to any possible tool we need for strength and conditioning. Dave is an excellent teacher, a former personal trainer, and a world class competitor. We have international and national champion BJJ competitors on our team, trained by Dave. We also have a world class Judoka, highly experienced wrestling coaches, amazing boxing and Muay Thai instructors, and a nationally ranked powerlifter/strength and conditioning coach/nutritionist on staff. I sleep well knowing im in good hands.

Making the decision to join something as physically intense as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was intimidating for me. I have severe asthma and am limited on how far I can push my body because of it. I was worried I would feel like the odd girl out from day one and be the person no one wanted to partner with. That never happened here. Our school doesnt make new people feel like pariahs and the instructors have worked with me from the very first to ensure Im getting the most out of my training without putting my health at risk. The older students are warm and welcoming and eager to help everyone learn and do our best. I feel like my own skills have progressed rapidly under everyones guidance, and my endurance has grown in leaps and bounds. This is hands down the best place to come for training!

Manassas Mixed Martial Arts has the best BJJ and Judo training in the mid-atlantic! I have trained with many other MMA and Jiu-jitsu schools up and down the east coast and all over the country and I can honestly say that Manassas MMA has the best instruction, atmosphere, class size, and facilities that I have ever seen. When I started training at Manassas MMA I had zero experience and was completely out of shape and overweight. Despite all this, the instructors took me under their wing, helped me shed 70lbs, and turned me into an accomplished competitive grappler. I would recommend this place to anyone - experienced or inexperienced - for training in MMA, BJJ, Judo, Muay Thai, Boxing or Wrestling.

Ive tried taking boxing classes at various other places, but I always found that either it was geared towards fitness- lots of loud music and yelling with no real training- or it was geared towards top level fighters willing to spend major money for personal training. Not here. I LOVE this place. Arturo is a top notch boxing trainer who teaches you how to BOX. Even better, the other fighters training at the gym are all great dudes. Sparring is a blast here; everybody is pushing you to make you better, not beating up on you to show you how much they know. Cant recommend this place highly enough.

Ive seen how the boxing coach devotes his time to his students. He is a very detail oriented and patient coach. He teaches proper techniques and always encourages his students to be better. He models how to throw punches, move around the ring and defend. He provides feedback and allows his students to execute it. He makes boxing fun at the same time. I have seen students transformation over period of months and its really impressive. Its best to see the students and coach in action so you can see it for yourself.

Coming from a different school was weird at first but can honestly say that Dave Trader BJJ has totally revolutionized my Jiujitsu. Im surprised day by day how he develops techniques that work and will blow your mind. One year training with him and can honestly say i wouldnt want to train anywhere else. Manassas MMA is like a second home to me. They have a complete gym and awesome training programs. If anyone doubts it come out and try it! A shout out to Manassas MMA!

Great school to train at everyone is friendly and helpful. Everyone at this school is trying to make the other person better. I have leaned so much in just two months of training. I would definitely recommend this school. The coaching is top level Dave really knows how to look and see the little thing you need to do to make moves work. Im finding myself hitting sweeps I could never hit before great place to train.

Manassas MMA is a great place to learn Brazilian jiu-jitsu! Being a girl I was a little intimidated about going into a mixed class but everyone is so warm and welcoming. Instructors are patient and give advice to better your technique and are always willing to answer your questions. Very friendly and positive environment.

The boxing coach is THE BEST around. I am 13 years old and have been working with Coach Pete for over a year. He is a great mentor and life coach for me, he truly cares about his students. Volunteering his time to teach kids how to box and prepare them for life in general.
